Today.. Was a Very special day to Edes. Well, not today, especially, but this week was the anniversary to the week when he was first taken home by Noel. He always considered this week to be his birthday week, since he did not know when he was truly born.

At anyrate.. He wanted to share this day with the one he loved more than anyone else. His beloved, sweet, and hot to boot boyfriend, Cody. In his arms was a pastry filled with the sweetest cream he ever did make! Edes wasn't the best cook, but all of his love went into his cooking, and it was tucked safely in a basket, almost as if it were a child.

The sloth, Kindness hybrid blushed at that thought. Soon.. One Day.. Maybe.. He hoped to have a real child.. One that he could call his own and love for always, just like he loved Cody.

Now, he stood on the front porch of his beloved's home. A covered fist rattled on the door, hoping some one would answer. He hadn't called before hand, trying to make this a surprise..

"Oh.. Um.. Okay!! I'll put this in the kitchen, if you don't mind.. I don't want Cody to see it!" He giggled very shyly. Recently, he had been feeling rather Shy around Shadai... He knew she like him when he was little.. But.. Now that he and Cody were in a more.. Romantic relationship, he wondered if she thought he was good enough for the Greed and Patience boy..

Placing the basket on the counter, he smiled. "I.. Wonder if... Cody will like it..." He murmured to himself, going upstairs to Cody's bedroom.

"Wow..." Was all Edes could murmur. It had been such a long time since he had been in this room. (Granted, it might be to the case that Cody was in so much trouble before, but Edes banished the thought from his mind.) It was a treasure trove of shiny trinkets, and Edes DARED not touch anything. He knew how his love got when his things were disturbed..

Making his way to Cody's bed, stumbling every now because of all the clothes (hopefully they would be clean..). He stopped where the night stand was. What he saw made his heart soar! Right there, beside where Cody would put his head at night, were numerous pictures of them together. They were laughing, and playing, and there was one where Edes stole a kiss from Cody's cheek.

But.. The one that seemed to touch him the most was one of then snuggled on the downstairs couch, Cody's wings wrapped around them both. They were sleeping.. It was such a tender scene...

"Oh Cody..." he murmured fondly, picking up the picture and sitting down on his darling's bed. He looked down.

"Hmm.. What's this..?" Under his feet was a duct-tape bound notebook. Edes delicately picked it up. It wasn't his right to flip through the not book.. But he couldn't help it! I mean, it was there, half hidden under the bed, and anyone would have given in, right?

Flipping through it, Edes realized something.. This.. This was a layout of a building, along with points of weaknesses pointed out, and plans to rob it.

" My God.. Cody..." This wasn't right.. This wasn't right at all!!! Cody wasn't really going to do this, was he..? He couldn't...

He stood, taking the notebook and hiding it inside of his sleeves. Edes had to talk to Cody about this before anyone else did... Or worse.. Before Cody went to jail..

"EEK!!" Was all Edes could say before he tripped on something that was on the floor, landing onto the bed with a soft thud. Though he wasn't hurt, he was a bit... Disturbed at what he had saw, and pulled his legs up to his chest as he sat on Cody's bed, seemingly the only clean space in the entire room.

"Cody.. Come here... We.. We have to talk.. Close the door behind you, okay..?" What he was going to say.. He really didn't want Shadai or Ary to hear.. What would happen to his darling if they knew what he knew..? He never ever never wanted anything bad to happen to Cody, not if he could help it.. That's why he had to warn him now, before he did anything stupid..

"I'm.. I'm fine.." Edes kept his gaze steadily on the floor, not sure about how to even proceed with this..

"I found something in your room.. And I'm worried about it.." He turned his gaze to look straight into Cody's eyes, clearly panicking. "A-and I know it's bad to go through your things a-and it's not my right to judge anything at all! I-I mean, You're life is your life, and I have no control over it, but when I found it, I panicked! I got scared Cody!!!"

He reached into his sleeve and pulled out the notebook, holding it up. "Tell me.. Tell me what this is for... Why do you have it..? What do you plan to do...?"

"I came because.. This week was my "birth week.." It wasn't born at this time, but this is when I came home.. And.. When I first met you.." Even though Cody had attempted to sooth Edes' worry, it didn't help.. He was lying.. Lying with a smile.. How could he..? Upset, he pushed Cody away from him, standing up in front of him, and turned to to a page in the book.

"You never said you have never robbed before. Look at this." He held up the book, and there it was, a list of shops under the title of "Robbed".

"Do you know how much trouble you could get for this..? Weren't you scared straight in the prison..? What has gotten into you? I mean.. Um.. Sure, you're greed, and I understand what urges are, but you must has SOME self control, right?" He wasn't angry, no, not at all! But he was really upset.. If Cody was taken away...

No, he couldn't think about that right now! What mattered now is to stop Cody from doing anything dangerous, or something that would get him sent away..

"Don't Change the Subject!" Edes nearly hissed, feeling horribly ashamed of doing so.. He wasn't getting angry.. Just more and more upset.. "How many lies are you going to tell me..? Do you REALLY think I'm that stupid? Sure, I.. I may be a bit lazy and lethargic and what not, but I'm not blind!"

He took the book, holding it with one hand on each side. "I can't let you keep doing this! I can't let you lie, I can't let you get in trouble.. I can't have them take you away from me.. And yet, you continue to try to wiggle out of this! No, there's no wiggling out, Cody! I love you too much to let you go back to Jail.."

Tears were beginning to form around the rims of Edes' eyes, his voice still soft, but cracking with each word. He wouldn't let himself get loud; there was no need for Shadai to come in here.

"You're not a child anymore.. Cody.. T-they'll take you away and lock you up and throw away the key.. I won't be able to stay with you then.. I'll destroy this book before it happens! And.. And I'll destroy every other one you make!"

".... I want to believe you.. I really do.. But I can't help but think that you're lying. I'm trying to say to myself 'He's greed.. These things will happen.' But then I begin to think 'what if he goes too far? What if he gets himself killed?'" Edes gingerly closed the book, tucking it back into his sleeves.

"I'm taking this away.." He said softly, pushing it all the way up to where his arm reached his shoulders. As big as his sleeves were, you STILL couldn't tell it was there. "And Like I said.. I'll take each and everyone one away. "

Edes flinched at the tone Cody used at him, and it made his heart ache seeing his love so upset. But no. He wouldn't back down, not this time. What Cody was doing wasn't right! Not at all! And He wouldn't let him keep doing it. Even if Cody hated him, or wanted nothing to do with him, he would NEVER just stand by and do nothing.

He turned his back to Cody, pulling in his wings tight against his body, as if to block out the angry vibes the other was sending out. Such anger... It was causing the young hybrid to get dizzy, as spikes of red hot aura could be seen out of the corners of his eyes. Granted, he didn't know what it was, but it DEFINITELY could not be good.

"I won't give it back. I WON'T." He spoke softly, but it was unwavering, one of the firmest tones he had used in his life. "I won't.." His slender fingers reached out from under his sleeve, the one without the book, and grabbed the doorknob. "I'm going home."
