Character Name: Saykiro Age: 15 turns Sexual Orientation: Straight Craft/Rank: Beastcraft Apprentice(healer)/Candidate History: Saykiro’s family has always been in the Beastcraft, and it was only normal for him to follow them in the craft. He was the youngest of the family, all boys, and his mother spoils him, while the rest of the guys tease him. The teasing made him work harder and he kept away from his mother. He does bring flowers when the others aren’t watching. His family moved to the Trine Weyr right before he was born and they haven’t moved since. His family is nothing special, other than being full of beastcrafters.
When he was about 5 turns, he point out which animals were close to being put down, trying to make his father proud of him. He watched the herds, learning the signs of what was healthy and normal with his father. Saykiro spent a lot of time in the herds while his father would barter for new blood to be brought into their herd. Saykiro has kept his oldest brother from buying some runners that were unhealthy. They couldn’t tell from just looking at them, but Saykiro was able to watch them interact with some of the others. That was one of the few lucky times he saved the family problems in breeding that season. The day before his 9th turn, his father finally talked to his mother about sending him to the Crafthold. The next day after that talk, his father took him to the Craft. He would soon learn that his family did not show him much of what he needed to know as a Beastcrafter Healer. At 10 Turns, he got first hand training with Healers. While it was not Beast Healers, they still talked about other injuries, whether human, beast or dragon. His couple of visits, Saykiro listened intensely for any information, so he could ask more questions of the Beast Healers.
It had been 8 turns since he seen his first dragon, when a blue rider came to the Hall. He was use to seeing the dragons and thought nothing of this rider coming by. Saykiro didn't realize at the time that there was a search going on until he was introduced to the rider. He was informed that he was to be a candidate by the rider. Saykiro, the normally shy guy, had a huge grin on his face and rambled for a few minutes. Upon meeting the blue, he murmured his usually greetings, but this time he was able to touch the dragon. On the flight he thought, My dream might come true, but at least I have a skill to fall back on just in case.
Description: Saykiro stands at 5’3 with short spiky brown hair and light blue eyes. His body is lean for his age. He prefers to wear sleeveless or vest tops, so his arms are tan from his time in the sun. During the summer his hair gets light brown and the winter it gets dark. He has a faded scar on his right forearm where a runner caught him at 10 turns. He was there for a birthing and got to close, if it wasn’t for the Journeyman being there to pull him back faster, Saykiro would have lost either the use of his arm or the lower part of his arm. The female runner was scared, her first birthing and the crowd was bothering her and Saykiro figured he could calm her. He didn’t see her bunching her haunches to kick out at him, as he was looking at her face more than her back.
Personality: He is happy and loyal to his friends and family. He has fought one of his brothers, when he was 13, out of loyalty to a friend. It was a quick and slightly painless fight, it hurt his pride more than his body because his brother kicked his rear to the ground, but he earned their respect. His brother insulted his female friend, calling her rude names and well just making an arse out of himself. Quick to anger if he sees animals mistreated. He has started many verbal fights over mistreated animals, by calling the owners/handlers idiots. He was normally told to stand down by his father and then the Journeymen and Masters at the Crafthall. Once away from the person, he would ask what he did wrong. In large groups of people, except during his training, he tends to stay in the background. During his training, he would try to be the first one there, so he could have the best place and also so he could help the fastest if they were asked. He watches the others reactions and feels his own as information is given. He feels comfortable around 7 or 8 others, too many more and he gets quiet. He feels like they are judging him when he talks and that makes him nervous. He also talks softer when there are more people around, so it’s harder to hear what he has said.
Other: His first memory of being close to a dragon was a blue landing near the field he was in, at the time he was about six Turns. He stood in awe that day and almost got in trouble by his oldest brother. The next turn, his dreams were of being a dragonrider. He talked to his mother about it the most, but still pushed himself when it came to their craft because he felt he wouldn't get the chance to be a dragonrider. It had yet to fade from his dreams, and he murmurs a greeting to the dragons when he sees them.

Great start!
There's a couple things I need you to address, however. Your title says he's a candidate but your history makes no mention of his being Searched. He's not a weyrbrat so he'd have to be Searched to Stand at any Hatching, especially if he's at the Beastcraft Hall learning his trade.
Additionally, you can usually tell sick animals just from looking at them so that part of your history doesn't make much sense to me. Perhaps Saykiro was trying to be helpful in making his observations known?
And while your note mentions it, I would appreciate your incorporating the reason he accepted the Search into your history as he seems rather devoted to his craft, especially if he's being pushed by his family.

Almost there!
"At 10 Turns, he got first hand training with the Healers, since he was there for his arm. Even though it was not beast Healers, he learned some things about different applications for different species. "
This part is confusing. Why was he at a beasthealer's for his arm? Describing the circumstances around that would be very helpful. That's something a Healer would address... and the two are entirely different disciplines. If he has an interest in Beast Healing, he needs to learn from Beast Crafters who have specialized in Beast Healing at the Beastcraft Hall that his father took him to. A few trips to the Healer's wouldn't teach him much of anything useful at all.
Additionally, Dragons have terrible memories and the blue wouldn't remember Saykiro from 8 years previous (3 days is about their limit). It's fine that saykiro's familiar with dragons and saw his first one years ago but the Search should be a separate event from that first one.
If you adjust these things, I should be able to accept you.
