...It's been acting up lately. A lot moreso that usual. It wasn't so bad before, I mean, it would run for a bit and then stop. Usually lifting the door and letting it drop would kick start it.
But since I got home on Saturday morning, it has been a b***h. I did laundry when I got home, and had to mess around with the cycles for a bit, but it wouldn't go into any of the rinse modes. I later figured that I was able to trick it by changed the water level from max to med, so that it would be forced to recycle the water.
Although since then, my mom used it, and the same thing happened to her. She figured that maybe there was too much stuff in it, so she took some things out, and that got her into the rinse cycle.
Well, just now, I was doing laundry, and it was being a b***h again. And I was like, ok, there must be something I can do to make this washer work, since it wants to be a b***h...
So I thought, well, why wouldn't it want to go into rinse? First I saw the drain tube, it is sort of bent at a point, and thought maybe that's why, so I tried moving the washer around to fix the tube. I mean, recently my mom had moved stuff around in there, and maybe in the process messed it up. But after a bit of moving, it seemed as though it had always been like that. Then I thought back to the door...
Oh door, you're like a fridge door. You know that lil switch that's activated when a fridge door is open to turn on the light? Well it's the same for the washer. Maybe there was something wrong with that. So, I tried manually pushing down on the switch, didn't work... But then I thought that maybe I wasn't pushing it down hard enough, so I reached underneath the metal plating that the door sits on to be able to push the switch more, and wouldn't you know it? The washer was starting to run again!
However, that didn't solve my problem. I mean, what was I to do, stand there pushing the switch while the washer runs? I may as well go wash my clothes in a creek then!
What did I do to solve this problem? Well, I thought of a remedy actually when I thought to test the switch. So, I went to the kitchen, grabbed some tape and a small tear of paper towel. I folded the paper towel, and taped it to the end of the plastic bit that was supposed to push the switch. Closed the door, and Voila! The washer works. Just a lil Viagra for to solve the problem. xp
