Dawns early and peaceful hours gave way to calm skies above, barely being kissed by the distant beams of warm light on the horizon. While most of the world remained in their beds untill the valley would be cast in that warm glow; one vixen had already awoke, eaten, went for a long jog and now was situated in an abandoned training ground closer to her house. While she loved to head out to train with her father, there were sometimes where Nariko just wanted some peace of mind.
Curling her paws into fists she punched at a bag she'd dragged from her room, having hooked it up to a tree as she ravaged the poor thing with her kicks and steady rough punches. Her hair had been tied up in a high ponytail as her armor acted as the perfect set of weights; usually not spending too much time on them in her workout regime.
Tossing one side kick to the bag the chain made a creaking wrench as the bag hid the tree and swung back violently; the vixen stepping back and wiped the sweat from her fur and placed her paws on her hips. "Ahhh...." she grinned; breathing in the fresh morning air.

What exactly had happened in the past 48 hours, Dutch had no idea. One moment he find himself being jolted from cryo sleep and scrabbling to dawn his gear while the crazy UNSC captain dive bombed a black hole. Then he remembered the odd sensation of falling, and now at long last he opened his brown eyes hidden behind an opaque blue visor. He blinked a few times before pulling himself from the ground "What the hell?" he said as he immediately noticed that something was off.
He hadn't the sense to notice the small impact he made on the ground..or really anything that would tell him he wasn't human. Instead he heard a voice nearby. Instinct told him to move that way, and sure enough he did. He felt groggy, but otherwise fine. He could have sworn the falling thing was just a dream.
He became immediately shocked when he saw that the female voice was coming from.....a fox? "What the hell is going on? Am I still dreaming?" he said smacking the side of his helmet hoping it would jar himself awake "Nope..not dreaming...I must be dead...I knew it" he said as he leaned against a tree, starting notice further that something was still off

Tapping her chin lightly, Nariko pondered on what to do next; figuring a swim would be some nice light cardio or to at least have a vigorous routine of Yoga before she went swimming....she knew she would have to run to the house to bake before her mother got home in the late morn from of course staying with Jerome.
...even though she doubted it was much of a 'sleepover'.
None the less; she figured she would wing it and see what she felt like closer to the lake when a clunking of metal echoed to her ears as she turned and immediately placed a paw on her own pistol to draw. However, spotting a similar but different armored fox she stood taller and tilted her head.
Had he been spying on her this whole time or did she just have her head in the clouds. "You know, you should take a picture; it'll last longer if you don't plan to introduce and explain why you're watching me...." Flipping her hair back she smirked as her paw once more found its way to her hip.

He watched as she flipped towards him, weapon at the ready. "What the F**k? Since when did foxes have armor..and guns...and..is that hair?" he mumbled to himself. He shook his head hoping something would make sense to him, but then he started feeling the real differences. The things that protruded outside of his helmet. He reached up and touched them "Ears? What?" he look at the rest of his body, completely baffled to find that he wasn't human any more. "Oh dear lord...please don't tell me.." he slowly looked over his shoulder to see the long pail tail flowing behind him. He felt all color drain from his face and he jumped as high as he could hoping that it wasn't a part of him.
"What the hell!?!?" he cursed as he caught the thing with his feet. "HAH!..now to see if this is really attached! " He slammed his boot down on the mid section of the tail and felt the consequences immediately after.
The forest was quiet and silent, until the ODST yelled out from smashing his own tail

Nariko watched the comedy play out before her as the increasinly strange fox began to mumble something she couldn't pick up, then out of the blue reached up and grabbed his ears. "....What the hell..." She muttered, raising a brow as her arms found their way to cross over her chest. It wasn't before long he seemed to discover his 'tail' after a well aimed jump. He was just lucky he didn't hit his....
oh wait. He just stomped on it instead.
Cringing and holding her own ears from the yelp, she stormed over and growled once she got close enough. "What is wrong with you!? Are you deranged? You're going to draw unnecessary attention to this spot yelling like you're some kind of banshee!" She all but hissed, tail flicking as she was wise to heed her father's warnings of the alien Jora and other rebelious covenant.

He turned and looked over. She didn't seem friendly. Which was fine by him. He had tackled bigger things before.
Despite his armor, he whipped around, pulling a knife hidden next to his chest plate. Had he a gun, he would have done better than this, but he was perfectly fine with this. "Ok, I don't know what you are...or for that matter what I am, but if you come and inch closer, then I'll treat you just like one of those damned covenant." he snarled as he took up a fighting stance. Wait..did I just...snarl? he thought as he seized her up, keeping a watchful eye on the pistol

Oh geeze....and here she had come here to have peace and now this? Putting her one paw up as she really had no desire to deal with this loony bin escapee with a knife no more than she wanted to just fire a shot and put him out of his misery. "Look, buddy, Im the same as you okay? Or have you been roughing it without a mirror?" Surely he was joking, or high. She'd heard stories of bored soldiers.
However, her ears perked at the word; wondering if he'd just read her mind. "Well perhaps think about if they're around here; because they most certianly are and I know one has had his eye out on my father for a while and would rather not take the chance of him holding a generational grudge...." As if on cue she scanned around her, luckily not seeing any signs of them around. Last thing she wanted was to go into a fight she wasn't sure she could win, since she still was lacking so much training. "Are....you drunk or something? Amnesia?....You seem pretty out of it from here."

His fighter's stance had some bounce to it. There was nothing more than he'd like to do than fight, but as she talked more and more, he slowly lost that energy and began to lower his arms. "The Covenant? Here? I thought we ended that war...well..Someone did.."he said sheathing the knife delicately, saddened it couldn't slash at anything. "Others? There are more of..." pauses to look her over" you?" He asked as he crossed his arms. Despite not really knowing what he was, he had adjusted surprisingly well to the strange features. Already he had managed to get a few swishes out of the throbbing tail.
"Drunk? Not on the job Lady. No..I..Just woke up. I have no idea as to what's going on." he said in his usual gruff tone with a few added hand and head gestures to emphasize certain words to match his tone

"Of course there are more of me; hundreds to be precise...but I can safely assume you're inclining towards my father. He is a Spartan II, and I would be his...er...unofficially spartan trained daughter. There are lots of spartans here; although the originals have long since given birth to generation after generation." Nariko said with an informative smile, glad that her tedious studying habits had at least paid off to give a breif history lesson. "The War has ended, my mother told me so and she found from probably the best source on this planet. However there have been few who go against the new order....probably due to lack of enforcement on this planet." Switching her weight onto her left leg, her own tail swayed in a calming mannor; a little nagging sensation wondering why she only seemed to lighten up around other military personel. No matter as she had little intrest to converse with anyone who wanted to talk about the latest hearthrob or girly frou frou things.
"As for your other statment, what job are you on, if you don't mind my asking. Are you not a Spartan as well? Although i'll admit I never saw any in the texts and logs I looked at which had that armor...."

"S...Spartan?" he said completely flabbergasted. This was all to much for him at once. First waking up in an odd place, finding he's not human, hearing all this. He slowly got to the ground feeling a bit light headed from all this and pulled off his helmet, to find yet another surprise, his nose. "WHAT THE HELL!?!?" he yelped as he pinched his nose, prodded it and stared at it. He then looked up to the sky and shook his head "Lord...what the hell. Are you trying to kill me? Or are you telling me this is hell?" He paused for an answer usually getting some known coincidental thing that he just agrees with.
"Well..it's official..I'm in hell. I've finally lived up to the ODST motto. Didn't think it was possible" he mumbled to himself, answering her question without truly realizing it

"Er....yes..." She took a step bad, weary he'd pull out his knife again as the male seemed to suffer from some kind of mental prolapse; yet her intrest was too far piqued to turn and head home now. Crouching down as he began to talk to the gods it seemed, the vixen's tail laid gently on the ground to keep her balance. "ODST, huh......" Storing the mental note to ask her father later, she tilted her head and put on a weary smile.
"Okay listen.....uhm. Your a fox...incase you didn't realize it, or remember it or whatever the case may be. This isn't hell though, and its insulting you think it so." She frowned, "have a look around before you place judgement, there is happiness you'd never imagine around here." Like hell she'd let him just get off with calling her home some kind of hell hole. Her parents being one of those beautiful aspects about the valley; and it was no hidden fact that she looked up to them despite she'd never get 'girly' and admit such.
"The...name is Nariko, not to put off politeness any further..."

He shot a glared at her. "Really? I hadn't guessed. I may have been born on Mars, but I sure know what a fox is" he snapped. He didn't like the attitude he was getting, but he had to refrain from the usual violent ODST styled brawl. He knew what Spartans could do, and He wasn't about to mess with one, even if this one was...unofficially trained.
"Call it what you will, but the Covenant are still causing trouble and there's war. Sounds like fresh hell to me." He said with a smirk. He wasn't trying to be rude, but he figured she , knowing what covenant are, would know about hell jumpers. Being nuts is a profession.
Nariko? Odd name, but I guess I can't argue too much" Suddenly wonders if the rest of his team got sent here too or if he was the only one

Nariko couldn't help the snort of irritable air from her nose; ears flattening. She hadn't been the one going crazy over her body and then suddenly snapping that he was the stupid one for thinking so. How was it she was surrounded by men who knew how to piss her off before they even knew her name? Bryyo was a special case though, given he made her mad before they could really pronounce each other's names.
Raising her brow, his figuring was in vain since she hadn't even heard about them; books were limited with their facts that she could find and time spent with her father was always for training. "Then we will respectfully call it as far as our eyes can see around us." She replied, flicking her tail which surprisingly remained clean through her workout. Remember mother's lessons, remember mother's lessons....
"It isn't very odd if you knew my family, sir....but I know you do not..." She turned, making the short distance back to the tree and her punching bag. Moving just under the tree she fiddled with a few latches and wiggled out of her armor till she was in a rather ornate oriental dark red undersuit. Carefully setting her armor down for later she began some stretches while glancing over at him a few times; allowed her muscles to cool down.
"Mars, huh?"

He glared once more as he was aware that she wanted nothing to do with him, and that was fine. He had so much to do, but first and foremost was trying to figure out what happened. He was about to stand up and walk away, until she engaged in conversation again.
"Yes...Mars..At least you know what that is" he said spitefully. He stood and brushed off his armor and pants before picking his helmet back up and quickly inspecting it before putting it on and letting the visor go see through, still a glare on his face. "Sometimes girl, training does you no good if you don't know how to face your foes. I may look stupid on trying to figure out where the hell I am, but at least I know about Spartans and how to fight them if I had to" he said as he made the visor reflective again. "Not like I would survive the fight" he mumbled quietly to himself

Nariko supposed she had something to be greatful to her brother for; as she had become hardened and immune to personal inflictions like a sharp tongue and a narrowed stink eye. None the less her brain kept relaying her mother's words, since as much as she was determined to be a spartan through and through she knew the importance of formality from Koyuki being a Geisha. Heritage was heritage afterall and she was her mother's only daughter.
"My brother was named after Bryyo...." She added quickly, "I'm only familliar with the solar system and planets my father has been to." However, she did listen with amazing politeness for her earlier attitude and was able to pick up his mumble, but couldn't help the shake of her head and a sad huff. "Don't sell yourself short, sir; I may not know what you are....but despite this title there is little backing it. I'm positive the fight would end in your favor." She looked back to her armor and flattened her ears, "I wasn't kidding when I said unofficially trained; although I guess I could add trained by my father when he isn't busy with my mother or brother."
Putting a paw behind her head and tightening up her bun, "So please, I don't need a lecture on what I don't know...its just another sore reminder i'm light years from a pretty impossible goal." Nariko thought about adding lucky sob, but figured it was neither the time or place.
