 Fortune knocks but once,
Aoi was holding a small map, having a hard time getting around, as she entered the arena with this elderly woman. Is this where my mission is taking place? this looks too much like a fighting arena, not to find a lost kitten.... Aoi frowned as she looked around, unsure what to do by the point. She put in her map, and put down her backpack...... Waiting to see what exactly would come next. "Ok, this is a fight to the death battle! the combatants are: Aoi Reiki and Yamatano Hatake!" the loud speaker yelled out, and the people in the stands went crazy. "WHAT?!" Aoi turned around to freak out at the woman. "You mean that this is actually a B rank.. No, A RANK MISSION?! I THOUGHT I WAS SUPPOSE TO SAVE A CAT!" Aoi yelled, and the crowd started laughing. " Dear, I'm the referee. You, of course, are already registered. remember signing your mission slip? that was a sign up sheet." The old woman giggled and poofed back into a young woman. " Have fun dear! good luck in the tournament!" the girl waved sweetly and went into the stands. Aoi's eye twitched. "Stupid Tanabata..... When im finished, I'll.... urg!" Aoi stomped her foot out of frustration.

 Upon Hearing his name called, Yamatano burst through the front gate, fireworks flaring from his side of the field, and pulled off two flips in mid air, making the crowd go wild. His silver hair gleamed in the sunlight, and the only visible part of his face was his right eye and the skin around it. The bottom half of his face was covered by a dark blue Kakashi-like mask, and his right eye was covered by his headband, which was tilted to cover it. If anyone saw Yamatano, they would mistake him for a younger version of his sensei, LT, or even a reincarnation of the great Kakashi Hatake. As he turned to regard his adoring fans, he waved and blew kisses toward the crowd, making a small group of girls near the front all faint. After ending his theatrics, Yamatano turned to face his opponent. "So, this is that girl from cloud. Aoi Reiki, according to the rosters." Yamatano thought as he approached the girl. He slowly brought his left hand up to his face, to where his headband covered his left eye. "If I'm gonna fight with my all, I'm gonna need..." Yamatano thought as he lifted his headband to reveal his closed eye, which opened to reveal.........another eye. "...Depth Perception." He finished thinking, extremely anticlimactically. Now in front of the girl, Yamatano smiled under his mask. "Well, I guess were gonna be fighting, ehh? My name's Yamatano Hatake, nice to meet you. I hope we can still be civil no matter what the outcome of the match." Yamatano said as he extended a hand. Chakra points: 32

Aoi looked at him dully. He's a ladies man somehow....euh.... I hate people like that. Aoi sweatdropped, as she bowed politely, not receiving the hand shake.....judging taijutsu these days, not a good idea. Aoi sighed. "My name is Aoi Reiki, san. I really want to attack the Ref, but that will get me disqualified..... But hope this will be a good match I guess. " Aoi relaxed, as she stopped bowing.

Yamatano brought his hand back to his side in confusion. "Wow, she's quite formal......and seems to hate referees. Maybe I'll use that to my advantage." He thought as he brought his body down into a ready position. Facing the girl the entire time, he bent his knees ever so slightly and shifted his weight to the balls of his feet, and brought his left arm forward slightly, while keeping his right arm hidden from view. "Well before we begin, I just wanna let you know that I dont care whether your a kunoichi or not, I'm still gonna give it my all and beat you!" Yamatano exclaimed. Then the proctor gave the signal, a high pitched, shrill whistle that somehow reminded Yamatano of his sister and the Mizukage's secretary. Maintaining his position, Yamatano pushed backwards and moved a few feet out of the girls range, but enough to easily close the gap. He would wait to see what she would do before he showed the crowd what he could do. Chakra points: 32

Aoi jumped back abit, near the Lava pit And started to grab through her backpack. She pulled out a few shuriken and her prized axe out. She, next, started to preform handseals for
Katon: Fukumen no Jutsu (Fire Release: Veil Technique). As Aoi clapped her hands together, and a giant bright light shown in the area, which would temporarily blind. Next, Aoi threw her Axe and 5 shuriken to distract him. In the mean time she used
Katon: Yojin Bunshin no Jutsu (Fire Release: Ember Clone Technique) to make one fire clone, whom may be a problem around the lava pit at the time.

(Because the description for Katon: Fukumen clearly states that it only blinds people in the immediate vicinity, and we both posted about moving away from each other, that technique will have no effect) Yamatano observed the girl's every movement, and it was all a goldmine of information to him. First was how she used the flare technique near the lava pool, which really did nothing but cause a pretty flash since he was so far away. She seemed to be a Katon user like the Mizukage, which would make this fight much easier for his Suiton element. Next was when she began pulling weapons out of the backpack, which showed Yamatano where she kept all her weapons. Observation time was cut short, however, when she threw five shuriken and a particularly dangerous looking axe at him. "Hit the deck!" he thought as he fell to his back to allow the various weapons to sail over his head, the shuriken going a long way across, but the axe falling into the river due to it's weight, thus being unable to travel as far as a shuriken. Springing back to his feet, Yamatano now noticed two Aoi's both near the lava pool still. If she was going to stay near the lava pool, then that must have meant she would try long range attacking, and that her clone was not your average bunshin. Wasting no time with cheap talk, Yamatano clapped his hands together, forming chakra and drawing on water from the river his back was towards. Being a support ninja, he only needed one handseal, Bird, for a jutsu he was so used to like this one. Many droplets of water began to rise from the river, condense, and form into eight shuriken, one for each of the spaces between Yamatano's fingers. But that was far from the end of it. Yamatano pumped more chakra into his technique, causing the shuriken to glow pure white, whiter than freshly fallen snow. This was the power of the Hatake clan, White Chakra Enhancement. Crying "Suiton: Shiro Mizu Shuriken!" Yamatano threw all eight shuriken towards Aoi and her clone, with four in the middle to direcly hit them, but four on the sides that would graze them if they took the brunt of the main shuriken, but would directly hit if they tried to sidestep the main ones. (50% power increase for the river bonus, plus White Chakra Enhancement which makes them bigger, stronger, and faster. It would be extremely hard for either you or your clone to leave unscathed, much less both of you) (32 -3 for genin jutsu -1 for white chakra enhancement= 28 ) Chakra points: 28

((It's still bright, and It's a distraction. So To me it doesnt really matter >.< She's planning while your complaining >.>))
Aoi used the body switch technique, leaving a log in her place. The clone, on the other hand, dispersed into it's ember-ness before it was even hit. Aoi's backpack was hidden with her, and three clones appeared from the forest area: basically telling her opponent where she was hidden, and long range there wouldnt do the trick, for she was in the tree branches. the three clones on the other hand, were now around the wood, the one closer to the lava pit. A special one within them. Aoi figured that if she kept her place near the lava pit and at the forest she should be good, but for now, she would have to wait.
((I'm guessing the clone's explosion would be more dangerous, and is probably faster than Aoi cuz of the lava pool bonus))

A scowl was on Yamatano’s face as his opponent turned into a log, a clear sign of the substitution jutsu. He chuckled a bit, however, when the clone turned to ashes, confirming his suspicions: Her bunshins were not normal, but made of fire. Turning to face the forested area, the only logical place she could have substituted to using a log, he now saw three Aoi’s encircling the forested area. “So she’s in there. Is she the one in the middle…………no, that would be stupid to substitute and then reveal yourself. They must all be fire clones. But if that’s so……….then why is only one moving to the lava pit?” Yamatano wondered, while at the same time formulating a plan. Turning to face the forested area, Yamatano reached his right arm over his left shoulder into his weapons pouch, grabbing hold of a kunai and a paper bomb. However, he put on a facial expression like Hidan after sealing a demon, one that said “My shoulder’s stiff so I’m gonna stretch it” in order to throw them off, while he looped the string of the paper bomb onto the ring of the kunai. “Let me ask you something. Do all Cloud ninja fight like cowards?” Yamatano called out, hoping to stimulate some emotional response as he finished tying his string. “Well then, let’s find out how long you can keep this up against a Shinobi of the Mist!” He yelled as he threw the kunai and ingited paper bomb in between the two clones near the woods and the one edging over to the fire pit. Because of the odd place he kept his weapon pouch, and his relaxed facial expression beforehand, he doubted their minds would be able to process the thought of a paper bomb landing there in time for their bodies to react, unless they had the mind speed of the Mizukage’s clan. The bomb exploded into a nice sized fireball, which would engulf the clones in the explosion unless they somehow were able to react in time. Since Yamatano thought they were all fire clones he didn’t expect them to dissipate from the fireball that would engulf them. He would worry about the weakened clones later. His real target lay within the forest. While the explosion may not have been enough to engulf the rest of the forest, it did create quite a bit of smoke that spread into the trees. If the real Aoi was in there, which was what Yamatano predicted, he planned to smoke her out. Expecting a counterattack, however, Yamatano had one more trick. Swinging his arm in a sweeping motion toward himself, Yamatano said “Mizu Soujuu.” The water from the river rose at his command, toward his body through Yamatano’s Water Manipulation jutsu. Yamatano covered all of his visible skin in a thin film of water, as well as soaking his mask and the front of his shirt to provide meager protection from a possible fiery projectile. He couldn’t wait to see what his opponent would do next. Chakra points: 26

The clones poofed, revealing that they were normal....except one whom escaped on time, for oddly, it's speed was faster, and eventually slowed down to chunin rank. It stuck out her tongue and jumped into the woods, While Aoi stayed quiet. He's trying to reveal my location, even though I obviously shown where I was at! Aoi thought erritated, as she started to mess with the light bombs and some of the smoke bombs. Aoi was running around the woods placing Makibishi all over the ground, and actually sticking some on tree branches.

Yamatano was pleasantly surprised to find two more clones poof out of existence, letting him know that she was trying to trick him, but quite annoyed with the last one, who completely dodged his exploding tag. As it jumped into the woods, Yamatano began to run after it, but decided to think rationally for a moment. "I can’t run in there right now. She holds the element of surprise, and my taijutsu isn’t exactly used for taking an enemy head on." He thought, puzzled as to what he should do. “Lets see, sending a clone in would just waste my chakra, and I can’t see through objects. I could use that jutsu, but………….Oh forget it, I’ll just keep trying to smoke her out!” Reaching into his bomb pouch on his right hip, Yamatano dug out three smoke bombs and threw them into nearly the middle of the forest, to encompass most of the forested area. Unless she could blow the smoke back she wouldn’t be able to see, and then she would be forced to come out. In anticipation, Yamatano unsheathed his daggers for combat. He stood there, still damp from the water, waiting to see where she came out from. Chakra points: 28

The smoke covered all through the area, and sh put her hood up so her eyes woudnt be bothered by it....the smoke shifted abit when she was grabbing something in her bag. She, of course, could tell what he was doing, but she would move an inch until he went into the trees..... because where ever he stepped would hurt him from the makibishi.... and the smoke he put in just made it even better on her behalf.

(I didnt want to do this, but your not coming out of the trees. So.....) Now extremely annoyed, Yamatano lept back to the river, nearly to the point where he was standing in the water. He had no idea how the girl could even breathe in all that smoke since he didnt see a fuuton being used, but this jutsu would reveal where she was........If it didnt kill her. Making handseals for the only jutsu in his repritoire that still required them, Yamatano allowed his Chakra to ebb out into the water, while he raised his right arm to the sky. Water began to rise from the river, collecting into Yamatano's palm. The water formed into what looked like a ring with a blade attached. Flicking his wrist slightly, Yamatano revealed the four other blades to show the true form of the water: A pure white Fuma Shuriken, gleaming in the sun. From the water, four other shuriken of the exact same proportions rose from the water, spinning in midair. "Alright Aoi, I didnt want to do this, but I have no other options. Suiton: Shiro Fuma Mizu Shiriken no Jutsu!"Yamatano threw his arm forward, and all of the Shuriken flew forwards, towards the top of the trees rather than the bottoms. Enhanced by Yamatano's White Chakra Enhancement, the fuma shuriken sawed through the treetops, making all the branches fall off and spilling light into the forest, no longer shaded by the leaves. If the girl hadnt been cut in half in the treetops, then she would be crushed by the widowmakers unless she avoided. And the only way to completely avoid them was by leaving the forested area. Even if she ran back in, Yamatano would be able to see her with the light now spilling in. Yamatano grinned at his newly created forest of very tall stumps, thankful to the Mizukage for teaching him such a fantastic jutsu. (Note: a widowmaker is just another word for a falling tree limb)

Fortune knocks but once,
Aoi fell out of the tree, and had more of a problem than she expected. With all the makibishi all over the place (and now the fact the trees were cutting into peices) She had little hope she would get out without a single scratch on her. She ducked and dove, (while getting cut up by her own trap) and she was now stuck under a pile of trees.... On her behalf, only her leg was in real trouble, because of the fact it felt broken...though the rest of her body could move abit.... not alot of room, no, but still.
