It had taken him all morning and some serious fancy footwork, but Atlo had made his way out of that place. There was only so much he could take of his (beloved!) mother's daily trills - and his father was, at best, absent at most times. It wasn't like he blamed him, from what he knew from the story of mom meeting dad . . it was kind of unfortunately.

Incidentally, there was only so much he could also handle of his sibling, Sedi, who shared his sense of sobriety when it came to sanity . . . but Sedi's dryness had nothing to quench it. Ever. It was like the fun was sucked out of his body as he grew up next to his brother.

So he had to perfect the act of stowing away, to find some sense of adventure and sanity. So, walking down the beaten path, there was Atloyasdi Waya.

What would he find today?

((Notes: This is before her encounter with Kazi and she has permission to be visiting the Ela, Nyota Waya is her mother's adoptive father.))

Kiraka was feeling quite welcome in the Ela'wadiyi, they were a very friendly bunch and because she was family they were perfectly willing to let her hang around. The wolf clan was large and busy and she enjoyed that, it was much better than being off on her own! She definitely preferred to be in a pride, it was easier to find the butterflies. So far she'd only been in the Ela with the Wolf Clan for a couple nights now but she hadn't yet had the nerve to ask about the tattoos yet. She absolutely showed an interest in them, though. Some were bright and colorful, some weren't so much.. but.. maybe. Maybe.

She had wandered away from the group, looking for some flowers to wait in to consult her muse. The butterflies would have advice for her.. she almost didn't notice the little cub wandering across her path until he was directly in front of her. He was small and dull but.. she recognized him as one from around the wolf clan. A.. cousin? Sort of. Were cubs supposed to wander on their own? Maybe he'd know where to find the flowers.

"Hey!" she called.

It wasn't like he had just walked up on the brightly pelted lioness. It was just she was suddenly THERE. Taking a few steps back to withdraw from the rambunctious greeting, his eyes widened in awe at the sheer power of happiness that poured from her welcome.

After a moment, he found his voice enough to emit a small "Hello, to you also." This was a stranger, someone he wasn't terribly aware of - someone not part of his immediate family. Whenever he could find them.

Natural conversation, don't forget to start with it! He chided himself internally, before putting on a face and sobering up a little bit. "What brings you out here, on such a nice day?" he quipped, eyebrows raising a little bit.

...

Well, he certainly spoke funny for a cub. It wasn't something she anticipated and so it caused her to pause and make a face but it quickly passed. She was used to all kinds of strange things, but he was so serious in his strangeness. It was.. well, stranger that way.

"I'm looking for flowers," she said simply, walking closer and looking down at him thoughtfully, "You are one of the wolf clan kids, right? Umm, there are a bunch of you." She didn't know enough about the family, really, to repeat the details she'd heard about them but she definitely recognized him.

"Flowers?" Atlo's eyebrow couldn't help but quip up when she started talking normally again. After a display of rampant emotion on her face, hearing something as random as finding flowers was almost normal for him. He was used to that. . which was a little saddening, deep down inside. His youth was wasted on insane ranting. But he digressed.

"There are many kinds of flowers in this area. Is there any colour you're looking for?" The further he could get away from reality, the better he could feel, for now. Be a kid, have an adventure, yeah! Hearing her ramble further made his eyebrows raise again, flickering his tattooed tail.

"Yes, I'm from the Wolf Clan. I'm related to Madoa, who's related to many others of the wolf clan. My name is Atloyasdi Waya . . . it means. . " he trailed, scrinching his face up a bit, "Cry Wolf, a bit of a pun. Yourself?"

A very odd cub indeed. Her red eyes narrowed as he mentioned his mother, and she paused to think of her relation to her grandfather. Yes, he was another grandchild. Just much younger. Neat!

"I'm Kiraka, it means spots," she introduced herself as he introduced himself, "And we're cousins, then! Your grandfather is my grandfather." Having family here was probably the best part. Or, it definitely made it more pleasant.

"I'm looking for any flowers, I need to find some butterflies," she explained, "Do you know where to find some?"

"It's good to meet you, Kiraka." He stated. It wasn't uncommon for Atlo to come across a cousin, or relative, or two. He was fortunately born into a vast family; which meant that he always had an excuse to wander around the Ela lands. Looking this one over, he tried to invision how her family tree looked like, but it took longer than he imagined, so he dispelled it before it gave him too much of a headache.

Being brought to reality, he gazed up at the adult lioness again with a slightly puzzled look, wondering if he had just heard what he did.

"Butterflies?" He asked with a bit of skepticism. Looking around himself in the sky, he set his jaw a little and tilted his head. "I'm not sure where they would be, but I do know where flowers are." He noted, turning himself around to face a small hill. "Want me to show you?"

From the tone of voice when he repeated what she was looking for, Kiraka decided maybe it wouldn't be a pleasant conversation to try to explain why she needed the butterflies. They didn't have muses here, they didn't worry about that kind of thing, she knew that. He already sounded a little too serious and annoyed about it, but he was offering to help so she was happy to accept.

"I'd like that very much, Atloyasdi," she said brightly, almost pronouncing his name right but giving it a good effort, "Do you like flowers, too? What do you like to do?"

"Atlo is fine." He murmured back, smiling at her with a less serious expression. Kirika was verbal with her emotions - but only slightly so. It had taken an already full lifetime of being around one who's mentality was alittle. . . askew for Atloyasdi to read the emotions of another based on how they sounded, and reacted, instead of how they worded it.

Hopping up over a log that cut the way between here and the there that he had been holding in his mind's eye, he looked back at the pale lioness, his feather dancing in his face for a moment before falling to his side once again. "Flowers, hm. I like flowers - brighter the better. Red is my favourite, but I've been told oranges and yellows look best next to me." he answered, a little seriously, before smiling again. "I like laying in flower fields, though, don't let me fool you. It's the calmest place in this area, for me."

Hmming softly as he jumped down from the log, stalking his way through a path rarely used, (except for him . . . and his escape tactics,) he thought hard about the last question. "I like to explore. Find my own stories and places in our pride lands when my mom is in her rambling fits. I'm usually by myself . . . but I think I like it that way." he answered lightheartedly, before piping up a short, "How about you?"

"Atlo," she repeated brightly, pleased to have something easier to say, and getting it right this time. Cubs were funny, she decided. She didn't interact with very many at home, but she had been one just.. ok, it wasn't that recently but she wasn't that old either. She'd been pretty worried about the butterflies, she hadn't seen much of anybody that wasn't family.

"Oooh! That sounds nice, I like red flowers and laying around by them, too!" she said, "Can you show me your favorite? I won't tell anybody, and I'm not staying very long anyway!" She beamed. He liked to explore and maybe he knew the places really well but.. he would be helping her to explore. That was similar, right? She followed after his as he started along a path.

"I like to hunt," she said decidedly, though with a slight frown, "I guess I'm not very good at it but I haven't had a lot of practice, I've been distracted. But for my pride, it's important, the stuff I worry about so much." The way he mentioned his mother's rambling worried her, she didn't want her rambling to make him feel the same way. When she rambled or got distracted or whatever.. she was supposed to, everybody had to worry about their muses at home.
