My beloved readers chapter 13 has arrived. Chapters 14 and 15 are completed as well but I'll type and post them later. Exams are still going on. Wish me luck.
My brothers were fast asleep unlike me. It was midnight and all I could think about were Zéj’s words.
“Its because of you I have wings to fly.”
“Not many people can touch the heart of a demon.”
I grabbed my specs and travelled downstairs. I unlocked the sliding door. Cool nightly breezes rustled my pigtails, black tank top and lavender pajama pants with colorful stars. The sound of waves crashing on the shore was soothing. I looked up and gazed at the thin. Cresent shaped moon. It reminded me of what Giratina had said. I laid in the hammock hoping the nightly breezes would help me sleep.

I felt an ominous wind. It was Zéj.
“Can I ask you something Z?” I asked sitting up.
“Sure.”
“What’d you mean when you said I gave you wings to fly?”
Zéj released a sigh. He contemplated for a few moments which, to me, seemed like forever.
“I think its best I show you.”
He took a strange knife out of one of his pockets. With it he slashed his right palm revealing his dark red blood. Then he took my right hand and was about to do the same with it. I tried to withdraw my hand, but his grip was too strong.
“Don’t draw back. Just trust me.” He calmly said sensing my uneasiness.
I looked into his deep red eyes and slightly nodded an okay. He carefully slashed through the flesh of my palm. I winced in pain and looked as the blood began to slowly drain. Zéj took my right hand and placed it in his.
“Now focus on me and the shadows surrounding us.” He calmly said.
I could feel shadows vividly dancing around.
“Open your eyes.” He said still holding my hand.
When I opened my eyes, we were in my old bedroom in the Bahamas where I grew up. I was fast asleep. Zéj, whose hair and height were a few inches shorter, appeared by my bedside. He held the same dagger over my chest and left it hovering. In my sleep I looked disturbed. My breathing became heavy. Dark shadows entered my body coming out with what looked like dark aqua colored aura. Zéj was taking away my energy making me weak. He began to laugh evilly and vanished as I awoke gasping for breath. This look into the past reminded me of how I used to suffer from lack of sleep and nightmares.
I looked at the present Zéj. Unlike the old Zéj, his face showed sadness. He squeezed my hand as if trying to say he was sorry.
Before I could say anything, the shadows took us to another occasion from the past. This time in a strange world where Diomus stood in a dark in yet lighted palace interior. Zéj was completely constricted in white chains and was bleeding.
“ I win brother.” Diomus said triumphantly. “Her powers will be mine now.”
After seconds of struggling. Zéj managed to escape the chains. He than managed to teleport himself.
Again the shadows danced.
It was night time again in my room in the Bahamas. I had no recollection of what it was seeing. I was helping Zéj with his wounds. He gazed at me as if I were crazy.
“What?” I asked feeling his glare.
“Why are you helping me?” He questioned.
“You’re hurt.” I simply said tying the last strip of cloth around his head. “All done.”
He took my hand. Suddenly I was drowsy and fell into unconsciousness on my bed.
“Thank you.” Zéj said vanishing.
The shadows bought us back to the current time.
Zéj was gone.

Different POV
Sometime after the flashbacks, Kelly had fallen asleep in her room. Zéj appeared from the shadows. He looked at the sleeping half-blood. He began wondering why she constantly downed herself.
“She’s stronger than she thinks. And so beautiful.” Zéj said to himself.
Zéj couldn’t stop looking at her. He went over to her and stroked her hair. He released a sigh trying to remind himself of what she had told him the other day.......
“And besides. Guys don’t notice my existence and I’d like to keep it dat way. Even if they did, I don’ t’ink they’d like what dey see. Luckily, deres no guy on the face o’ the earth who’d be stupid enough to be interested in me anyway.”...........
“Call me crazy.” Zéj said after the flashback.
Letting out another sigh, he used the golden amulet around his neck to create a silent portal to the Reverse World with the full sized mirror.
He took one last look at Kelly before disappearing into the portal.
