Round white ears twitched, irritation written on a blue-eyed face as his ears were YET AGAIN tugged on. Coda Dillon S'varre still had NO idea why he'd taken in this little bundle of interplanetary trouble, but he had. And now, at the precocious toddler stage, Delly was really starting to worry the Polar Bear shifter. Ears flattening, he couldn't help but make a noise of pain as the eager tot on his shoulders screeched and pointed at none other than the coffee shop, "Teatime, Coda! Teatime!"
Clutching to his little Doll, Delian thought this was the most brilliant idea in the world. Of course! It was Tea time! The tot was not to be denied his little sit down with his lovely porcelain dolls, in order to have a drink. Cuddling into the current one he held, a lovely female with white hair and a pink ruffled dress, Delly clamored off Coda's shoulders, eagerly running into the shop.
Worry wrote itself over the Guardian's face, and he hurried in after the toddler. As soon as he set foot in the shop, he noticed that the kid was already causing trouble. On his tiptoes, Delly had set his doll on the counter, and demanded for them to give him and 'Dolly' two cups of tea. Walking over to the poor baristas, Coda gently said, "Two cups of Chai green, please. And one soy, no water chai, with two shots of vanilla." Handing them the cash, the male picked up Delian, and set him and Dolly in two chairs of their own at the table, before sitting himself, "What in God's name am I gonna do with you, Delly...."

Umbra walked into the coffee shop, her hair curled into tight ringlets and hanging down to her butt. She was wearing a pair of white jazz pants and a backless gold tanktop that tied around the neck.
(IT WAS TOTALLY HER IDEA.)
Walking up to the counter, her tail swishing back and forth, the catgirl asked for an iced mocha. She could handle the coffee.

The first thing Delian noticed when the girl walked in was the tail. The MOVING tail. Looking to his dollie with a secretive grin, the Toddler wiggled, eagerly. Telling Coda he was simply going to throw away his cup (uder the pretense that he was going to help Dolly drink hers), the precocious brat tossed his cup, but instead of going to the table, he walked over to the strange thing, and grabbed it with his hands, tugging, "It's not coming off, Dolly! It's staying on!" He frowned, tugging on her tail again, the picture of a confused child.
Coda, on the other hand, looked horrified. Getting up quickly, taking Dolly, and both drinks in his hand, he moved over to the kid, scooping Delian up in one arm, and bowing his head, "I am SO sorry. He doesn't know his manners too well sometimes...." The little bundle of interplanetary toddler-dom under his arm was struggling and whining, making grabby hands at the tail. Coda was used to this, though, and kept a firm grip on the boy, as he tossed the doll's tea, giving the small thing to Delian to keep him quiet, so he could drink his coffee, "I really am sorry for him..."

Umbra twitched irritatedly, her tail ready to whack the small child as soon as he let go. Then the guardian walked in.
"Ah, no problem," the catgirl grinned through gritted teeth, taking a long sip of her coffee. "I get that a lot, what with my tail." Meanwhile, her tail stayed curled around her ankle, far away from Delian's grasping hands.

Delian pouted, glaring at his 'father'. Irritably, he wiggled in the others arms, making grabby hands at the tail. The tot wailed and he whimpered, "Taiiiiiiiiiiiiiil!" Even with Dolly in his hands, the youngling was rather insistent about that tail! The tiny child finally gave up on trying to get at the tail, flopping in Coda's arms, and gripping to his Dolly, sniffling. He wasn't happy he was being kept away from that pretty tail. It was there, and he wanted to tug on it again.
Coda sighed, rubbing his forhead, and mumbling to himself, flicking Delian's ear, a bit, "But still. Nonetheless? Delian needs to learn how to control himself. Especially around TAILS." At that he gave her the cute apologetic grin that he pulled off a little too well, "I think he has some sort of fascination with them....Or something. Everyone he's met so far, he's played with their tail at least once, if they have them..." Delly let out a whine from under Coda's arm, and the adult shifted his little bundle, "Any way I can make it up to you, kid?"

"No," Umbra replied through a smile, teeth gritted in an annoyed fashion, "it's fine. I've had a tail every time, all three, I just can't fathom being without one."

The little polar bear shifter was mildly confused at that, and his tiny white ears twitched. Thinking on that for a moment, he handed Delian his tea, and gave him a look, "Delly, go sit down. I don't want you causing problems for this young lady again, got it?" The tot gave his guardian an innocent look, tipping his head. Coda, of course, knew better, and did the thing most parents would probably do in this situation. He stuck the tot in a high-chair, and strapped him in at a table, huffing as the kid started to whine, "There we go. That should fix this."
Now Delian was quite put out with Coda. He was making faces at the white-eared young adult's back, as he was currently trying to smile and be pleasant to the young lady standing in front of him. Turning to his 'Dolley', he murmured to himself/her, "Coda's a big stupid. Can't keep me here." But trying to struggle out was proving quite….difficult. Stupid, stupid man. Adults always seemed to like to play these games with kids like him. But right now, Delly saw this as a challenge. A puzzle, if you would. How could he get out and get at that tail again?

"You sure you want to restrain him?" the girl asked, her tone proving a detached interest. She was still fairly sleepy, and prone to mood whiplash before coffee. "The kid seems pretty smart, giving him some of what he wants but not all could help." She wouldn't know, but it seemed about right. And just testing out something, she uncurled her tail from her 'ankle' of sorts-cat feet were hard to understand-and moved it back and forth, probably not enough to catch the notice of Coda but enough to catch Delian's eyes. "Maybe graftin' a tail onto him would help..."
Yeah, she needed some coffee, Umbra was definitely still sleepy. Normally she wouldn't say something sounding so stupid.
