Once they were far enough away form that awful tree and that fairy circle Azzo gave Eos a soft shake.

"Wake up." He said sternly, her eye lids had only fluttered earlier.

He felt like puck, peter pan, heck maybe even captain hook. He waited for her to wake up enough to be coherent as he focused on the compass and the way to go, "Come, we'll have to keep moving. Don't touch anything and don't look at anything." He said again in that stern tone, "That fairy circle almost killed you."

He waited a moment more, offering his free hand to help her up. He held the compass rabbit's tail in the other, "We're following the compass to the center." He added. It seemed he'd taken lead, not that he wanted to actually take over leading things from a senshi, but at this point it was better off he did. It would be much less trouble for them, or so he hoped, after all she nearly did get herself killed.

The instructions he had been given were kinda hard, however he kept his eyes trained on the compass. He was trusting his gut on this one, it was honestly hard to read a rabbit tail compass, so he followed the point. He also kept his eyes on where he was going, he didn't want to walk into a tree or onto another fairy circle, and he'd be damned sure to drag her away from it before she even had a chance to touch anything again.

"We should get going before it's dark." It sounded curt, almost like conversation was out of the picture, though if she'd badger him he'd probably indulge, at least maybe he'd explain. The raven left him with more questions than he'd previously came with. Why did he die last time? Why had he been here before and not remembered it? He also had to probably brush up on his fairy folklore when he got home too. He was making mental notes of all these things.

Her eyelids had fluttered, but Eos wanted to stay asleep. She was dreaming.

It was strange. Had she known she was asleep whilst asleep, it would have made more sense, but she didn't know, and so it didn't make more sense. She could see her oldest brother, Leon, her favourite - although she didn't tell Theo that. He was with her uncle Scottie, and they were in the hospital. It certainly looked like Desctiny City Memorial, but she couldn't be sure, she didn't really know the hospital all that well. They were crying - well, Scottie was, Leon didn't cry. He looked sad, though. Why would they be sad?

And then she was being shaken, the senshi gave a childish whine, trying to push away the hands on her shoulders, "Leave me alone..." she mumbled, eyelids finally fluttering open, squinting to get used to the light once more. Her eyes focused after a few moments, and she glanced to one side, before her head turned to the other, eyes flashing in recognition as she spotted Azzo. "...Hey."

Why was she on the floor? Why had she been asleep? Wait, what had happened, they hadn't been here before. Ohhh, she'd done something stupid, hadn't she. Frowning a little to show Azzo her confusion, her face soon softened, a small 'o' of realization shaping her mouth. The fairy circle? "I...how?"

Wait, it almost killed her. Did that mean he'd saved her? She gratefully accepted his hand, pulling herself up slowly, testing her legs to make sure they weren't hurt. Following the compass...this was too much all at once. She blinked once, twice, nodding to show she understood, but a hand steadied her head, making it clear she wasn't ready to set off just yet. "Did you save me, Azzo?" It was a bit obvious really, who else could it have been? It had to have been him, there was no-one else around anywhere. "...Thank you."

It went without saying, really, but she was grateful. She didn't particularly want to die. Sailor Eos was trying to be more confident, trying to take the lead more, especially as Azzo was a civilian - it was up to her to lead. But right now, she was shaken, and so was more than happy to take shaky steps after Azzo as he read the compass. Getting there before it was dark was a good idea, too. She hoped they could talk as they walked, though. "...What happened? While I was asleep?"

Azzo seemed annoyed with her, specially when she pushed him away. "Fine, you can stay here for all I care." He scoffed at her.

Senshi, he liked most of them, but they were unorganized, some seemed to end up kinda stupid. When she came too he waited, the irritation in his face clear. Senshi were suppose to be heroes, thus they were suppose to be smarter than just grabbing things willy-nilly.

"You grabbed the pillow." He replied simply, still in that irritated tone. It'd been a while since he'd forcefully taken control without given anyone an option. The replies were in that tone as well he wasn't interested in being tested, not after killing Mr. Mittens.

"No Of course I didn't save you. I'm not a hero. Batman swooped out of the canopy to save you." He sighed who else would've saved her? He was tried of not being able to help people, the sarcasm showed it. When she said thank you all he muttered was a your welcome.

He sighed when she asked what happened. He didn't want to talk about it. "I saved you. Is that so hard to believe? Is it so hard to believe a civilian can do something other than run the ******** away? Sure the Raven helped, but you never, never, never touch or break a fairy circle. The bone tree tried to eat you... I..." He trailed off there having started to mention the rabbit but thought better of it. He was bitter enough as it was that he had to kill the thing.

He was annoyed at her? Wait, why was he annoyed at her? What had she done!?

A little hurt by the comments, Eos fell a little behind, walking just behind Azzo rather than rushing to catch him up. Nothing more than a few steps behind, she didn't want him to get angry because she was keeping him behind too. Ohhh, she didn't like making people angry.

"I'm sorry," she mumbled, not really entirely sure of what else to say. What else did he want from her, for her to get down on her hands and knees and beg him to forgive her? She actually pondered the thought for a moment before deciding no. Too much. And the pillow - that...explained it. She'd grabbed the pillow and fell asleep. Sleep and pillow made sense, but the whole grabbing one and instantly feeling so tired and falling asleep there and then...didn't. Was there magic like that, in the world?

Although, they didn't seem to be on Earth anymore, so maybe the usual magic rules didn't count.

"I..." she started at his outburst, surprised. Surprised and hurt that he was angry at her, blaming it all on her. She'd never said she didn't think he saved it, it had just been a natural response to confirm it. She wouldn't asked the same thing even if Europa had been there, her team leader. And a raven, what the hell was he on about? Fairy Circles had always been places of excitement for a young Selena, somewhere her brothers took her and told her magic resided. She'd never been told they were bad. "Stop it!" she suddenly burst out, tears brimming in her eyes, hands clenched into fists. "Just stop shouting!"

Her bottom lip wobbled dangerously, and for a moment it looked like she'd throw a childish tantrum, rolling on the floor and demanding to go home. The senshi managed to keep her cool a little better than that, however, instead sticking to shouting and the occasional foot-stamp. "I never said it was hard to believe! I never said you were useless or only useful for running away! Stop putting words in my mouth! I didn't ask for any of this magical stuff, I didn't ask to be a senshi, it just happened, and I had to deal with it! It isn't all running around and saving the day - it's hard, Azzo! So stop blaming me for everything!"

She was breathing fairly heavily, and her face was bright red. Almost...comical-looking. Oh, and she looked as if she was about to burst into tears, too.

Azzo paused to look at her, his eyes looked almost lifeless, his face twitched. It was like he didn't know where to go. He hadn't really been shouting. Though he had no intention on apologizing.

"It's not just you. That's the problem." He muttered as he turned and motioned for her to keep walking. "It's everyone. Almost every senshi I run into. They all think I can't do s**t. I can't help they all tell me to get out of the way. Okay fine, so whatever, it's not putting words in your mouth. So far I've yet to see any that thought a civilian do something, do you really expect me to think that most of your kind aren't cocky little... little..."

He paused, he didn't know the right word, so he let it hang. He loathed anyone with power, the negaverse much less so. He ignored the fact she might want to hit him. He probably deserved it, but he didn't deserve to be treated like a no body. "It sounded like the Negaverse could just give power willy-nilly. Do I want to be able to do something and not be told I'm useless, I can't help anyone to stay out of the way? Yes I do, but do you think I'd ever go over to a side that willingly killed people..."

He trailed off, but that'd what he'd done with Mr. Mittens, for her. He sighed, "You'd be ticked off too if you had to choose between killing a talking rabbit and saving a senshi." He left out the eating a human bit.

"Fairy rings... don't ever break them." He said changing the subject on propose. "They're bad luck, I believe most folk lore, if I remember right said they do things to enchant you, most of those end up in death." He watched the compass, looking up occasionally. Turning his head to the side so he could glance out of the corner of his eye when he thought he might need to. It seemed to be the best bet. "That tree back there was full of bones of animals that it had killed. That's why the ground was so rich."

He sounded less angry, though still irritated when he looked at her face he shook his head and turned facing back towards where they were heading, cracking a smile for a moment. Girls...

Considering he just wanted to get out of there he kept moving figured she'd follow. "The talking raven. Like in Poe's work despite it not saying 'nevermore' basically could've said it." He sighed, why couldn't he remember anything. If he'd been here before how long ago was it? Stupid bird, it must've mistaken him for someone else, he frowned, that didn't explain how it knew his name. "Best to keep walking, don't want anything to grab you and eat you," He added not sure if that was true, but it wasn't untrue by this point.

Everyone? Well why was he blaming her, letting this all out on her, if it was all Senshi he was moaning about?

Although, to be fair, Selena was a very good listener.

She followed as he beckoned her to, agreeing - walking and talking seemed far more productive than stopping to have an arguement and losing valuable time. She wasn't even sure where they were going, but felt now wasn't the time to bring it up. She needed to sort this out before asking about anything else. She listened to Azzo, not particularly wanting to interrupt or make him even more angry, although it was clear at times by her facial expression that she wanted to butt in and set something straight. Eventually, the urge got too great.

"Azzo, this is unfair!" she blurted out - everything was unfair to Eos, though. "You've already decided what I'm like because of other Senshi you've met, and I'm not." She pouted, "I...I know several Senshi that are just that - arrogant, like to be the best. But I'm not. I never said you couldn't do anything, and to be perfectly honest, I'd be grateful for any help you could offer!"

She sighed, "I'm just...just trying to be more confident. So far I've only gotten myself beaten up, so I'm trying to be stronger, so I'm sorry if I came across as being arrogant or something. I didn't mean to - and I didn't mean to get myself into trouble. I'm just...overly-curious."

She didn't want to argue - she was getting genuinely tired now, and they hadn't walked very far at all yet. The arguing was taking it out of the Senshi. But, needless to say, she found the strength to be shocked when Azzo talked about joining the Negaverse, "...You mean you've actually...though about joining them?" He knew more about the Senshi and Negaverse than any other civilian she'd met, but surely that meant he knew how bad they were. "...Don't, Azzo. I...I'm not sure how much I can tell you, about being a Senshi. I don't really know myself. But from what I can gather, you're born a Senshi. When I got awoken, it was like...power that was already inside me."

Should she really be telling him this? She didn't see the harm, she wasn't revealing who she was or anything he could use against them. It was stuff the Negaverse already knew. And even so, Eos hoped that Azzo knew better than to join the Negaverse. And boy, he really seemed to kow how to dampen the mood. "...I've said I'm sorry. And I'm grateful," she stated quietly at the mention of the rabbit - he hadn't told her that part. "...What else do you want me to say?"

She definitely knew to stay away from the fairy rings now. He didn't have to tell her that again. "...I didn't know that. My brothers used to show me them and tell me they were magical. I didn't know it was bad magic, though." She'd caught up with him a little, trying to glance over his shoulder to see exactly what he had. She assumed it was a map or a compass of sorts, but it looked like a...rabbit's tail? What?

She was grateful that he sounded less angry, and decided to keep the change of subject. Start anew, that seemed the best bet. "Do you know where we're going?" she asked, trying to make sure her voice portrayed that she was merely asking out of curiosity, rather than demanding as if she was going to get angry if he didn't. "I'm rubbish with maps," she added, with a smile.

"I don't like taking others lives." He muttered, looking at the rabbit's tail. If it could pop up at any moment there'd probably be a little gray rain cloud over his head raining on him.

Being mad kept him from feeling tired, but he sighed, "Don't judge a book by it's cover." He added, "I know not all senshi are bastards. You just meet one too many rotten apples and the whole barrel seems rotten."

He shook his head, "You guys don't even have any organization much less a clue of what you're fighting for it seems." He tilted his head over at her, "What are you fighting for?" He asked, he was curious to know the answer.

He shook his head, "Negaverse isn't my cup of tea. Taking starseeds?" Granted he'd only known what'd happened as far as hi, I passed out, they said they were going to steal my star seed and when I woke up it felt like my ribs had broken again. "Painful s**t. I'd rather not put anyone through that sort of pain. I'd rather not kill another talking rabbit either..."

He shook his head. "We're headed to the center." He stated simply, "Following the compass.... yeah don't look at me like I'm crazy." In fact he didn't know if she had or not, most people shot him crazy looks anyways... It'd become second nature by now, but it wasn't quite as harsh and accusatory as it'd been before. "IT just works that way. Watch." he demonstrated by turning around and the tail moved to point in the direction they'd been heading.

He looked at her. "Weird stuff huh?" He shook his head. "Dunno when we'll get there though." He added looking around. Eyes darted up to the canopy, before heading that way.

"That raven said I'd been here before, but... I don't remember ever seeing anything like this." He admitted softly, "Apparently I'd died too." He paused to roll his shoulders, before he let his eyes scan over the wood floor. Taking a slightly wider berth around a certain area, can't ever be too careful. "I don't think there's quicksand here but keep an eye out for anything that might look like it. I'm not feeling like being Indiana Jones at the moment."
PostPosted: Mon May 24, 2010 11:11 am

She decided not to tell him she was a member of the Basterds.

Team-wise, not generally.

She nodded to show she understood, but the somewhat awkward way she was rubbing her own arm made it clear that she was still a little upset that he'd judged her so readily. As for the organization - well. "I'm a member of a team, actually," she pointed out, deciding to tell him about the team was fine as long as she didn't mention the name, "There's...nine of us in total, I think. So we are getting organized. Slowly."

What was she fighting for? Eos frowned, taking a few moments to decide on how best to answer, "We're fighting against the Negaverse - to find and save our Queen, the Moon Princess. Destiny City and everyone just sort of...got caught in the crossfire." She shrugged, she wasn't sure what else to add. That seemed to sum it up alright.

Sailor Eos nodded, grateful he wasn't seriously considering the Negaverse. The way he spoke sounded like he had experience of his starseed being snatched - but she didn't press any further, not wanting to be too nosy. "The centre?" she repeated, to make sure she'd head right, "Of the forest?" Another obvious one - where else would they be heading to the centre of? "I'm just as crazy as you," she added with a more friendly grin, walking beside him now, watching with interest as he demonstrated the 'compass'. "Really weird," she agreed with a nod of her head, glancing at the ground as he mentioned quicklsand.

"You've died?" she asked, frowning in confusion, "You look pretty alive to me. Maybe it was just trying to mess with you?"

Azzo looked at her, "I meant as a whole army." He said, listening to her answer and shook his head, "That's what they're fighting for." He added, "You, yourself. What are you fighting for? Or is their cause worth killing your friends and families to find this princess?"

He tilted his head. "Why are you fighting for someone you don't even know exists? The negaverse I understand." He added in, in a pause, "The problem is that all of you are fighting for a cause someone else probably told you."

He looked at her, "Why do you think the Armed forces fight?" He'd heard this one too many times from his father, "While the general goal is freedom, and liberty and to make the world a better place, like miss America always wants. They all have their own goals, to keep their family save, to stop the uneeded killing, what have you."

He looked at her. "You guys don't seem as united as you should be. Look at the army, the marines, the navy, any of those military branches, any where in the world. Look at the negaverse. They're organized, they might have smaller squads, but they have someone that takes the roll as big leader and they organize." He shook his head, "Have a goal if it isn't worth fighting for, isn't worth having." Granted he didn't know how worth it was to these senshi.

"You already have princesses that are living that you know about." Apparently he knew this too, though he didn't know how many. He knew of Chronos and Selene, he paused.

Shaking his head he sighed, "Anyways... yes the center." He chuckled, "Good. At least someone is."

He paused, "I know I look pretty alive to me too, but I think he meant from before... but.. how do you die and look completely whole and fine? I mean unless he knew about the star seed thing, though that doesn't really kill you does it?" He looked at her curiously.

"Kinda like he asked if I ever ate a human." He cracked a weird crooked grin. "Funny huh? Who'd eat a human besides Cannibals? As far as I know, I'm no Cannibal."
PostPosted: Mon May 24, 2010 11:45 am

Her, personally?

Eos frowned.

She understood what he meant. The Senshi as a whole didn't have a leader - in the Basterds, there was Europa, and she'd mentioned something about Astraea-Luna who had sounded important. But Sailor Eos knew of no big leader, to lead them. That was what they needed, really.

"Me, personally...I'm just trying to help. Make a difference. I believe Queen Serenity exists, and she's my overally mission. But in the meantime, I'm just trying to help people. Protect people from the Negaverse, make Destiny City safe." She sighed, shaking her head with a small smile, "I'm not very good at it, though. Not yet."

She didn't know of any princesses - Europa had mentined something, but Eos herself wasn't sure. But she didn't want to sound stupid, so stayed quiet. "Before when?" she asked, glad for the change of subject, "As long as your starseed is returned soon enough, you won't die," she confirmed with a nod, even more curious about Azzo now. It sounded like he'd been through so much, "You're alive." she stated, it was fact. There was no doubting the fact that Azzo was most certainly alive.

"...Please tell me you said no?" she mumbled under her breath, as the issue of being a cannibal came up. That was...gross.

Azzo looked at her, he tilted his head casting a sideways glance. "Find something strong you believe in. It'll probably help." He added, granted he was no expert on magic except that princesses woke with their true loves kiss when under a magic spell. Heck everything seemed to work with the 'true loves kiss' in those books.

He shook his head, "Yeah, that's good to know. Still hurts though." He said

He looked at him and patted his chest making like he didn't believe. Contorting his face he then shrugged, "So I am, maybe there was a zombie apocalypse someone forgot to mention to us though." He was joking now.

He paused, and made a face. "Do I look like I'd ever eat a human?" He made a point to cast a glance at her that was both curious and a bit disturbed. Granted, the question was, do sins one doesn't remember still count?

Like Willy wonka said, "Everything in this room is eatable, even *I'm* eatable! But that is called 'cannibalism,' my dear children, and is in fact frowned upon in most societies." Azzo quoted as he walked, voice actually attempting to mimic Wonka, doing not that great of a job but at least he didn't sound horrible doing it. "I dare say I wouldn't want to try that kind of meat anyways. Much like I'd stay away from some of those things that other cultures eat, they may not be that horrible but just the sound of them." He gave a visible shudder. "I like my hamburgers and stakes from cow and my hot dogs... well from whatever they're made out of, my chicken as chicken and sea food." He gave a nod, some gumbo would be nice by now.

Their journey so far had been rather uneventful. He was wondering when they were going to run into something else equally disturbing as the bone tree. Perhaps something innocent looking. Another fairy flitted by, he almost ran into it. "Erk." He paused swatting the thing away. "Crazy fairies..." He muttered as he watched it flit around them and then off somewhere else. Of course running into little fairies seemed to mean trouble for them. "Keep your eyes pealed, and remember don't touch or look at anything." He said setting himself back on edge.
PostPosted: Wed May 26, 2010 1:27 am

Something strong she believed in - that made sense. She nodded, flashing a grateful smile, which turned to a concerned one, and then to a grin as she giggle in response to his small joke. She shook her head, "No, you don't look like you'd eat a human."

She smiled at the quote - she remembered Willy Wonka well, having watched it throughout her childhood. She'd watched it not long ago, infact, since it had been on the TV... She wrinkled her nose as the conversation turned to eating strange meat, and she nodded her head in agreement, "My brother tried crocodile once and said it was nice - I could never...eat something like that, though."

Don't touch anything, yes, she knew that now. Eos rolled her eyes, but smiled, continuing onwards. She soon frowned, however, as a strange noise reached her ears - not the lute or whatever had been playing earlier. This was a sweeter noise, and actually seemed to form words...almost like someone was singing. "Can you hear that?" she asked Azzo, taking a few steps forwards, the singing getting louder in response. "It's coming from that way."

Azzo nodded, "I was hoping I didn't." He said musingly. He shook his head, "Nope most 'rare' thing I've had was... probably crab or lobster. And that's kinda technically fish anyways." He shrugged.

Azzo heard it too, his face contorted into an unsure mix of displeasure. He stood where he was, the problem though, with singing was there was normally something attached behind it. With his luck it wouldn't be mickey mouse dancing trees or any of the Disney princesses.

He paused in his thoughts, "So it is..." He said softly looking at the compass and then to the direction the singing was coming in. "I... don't think we should check it out."

He shook his head, with a sigh he added, "Probably a harpy or something that'll lure us in and trap us... Knowing this place. We couldn't be possibly lucky enough for it to be some princess like Snow White or that Giselle character."

He took a step forward in the direction the compass was taking them, wondering if she was coming. Hoping that they wouldn't cross paths with the singer. He wouldn't admit he was curious, mainly because he didn't want to be stuck here.

"The weirdest thing I've had was...duck. And thats not exactly uncommon, anyway."

She wasn't the most adventurous of carnivores, prefering to stick to the good ol' favourites - beef, pork, chicken, etc. She occasionally went for fish, but wasn't a fan of seafood. Grateful that Azzo could hear the singing too, and it wasn't just her going crazy, Eos took a few steps after him as he moved in the direction of the compass, glancing behind her every now and again.

"I think...we're moving towards it," she whispered - why she was whispering, she didn't know - frowning at his suggestion of a harpy. Harpies didn't have as pretty voices, surely? Evil creatures never had pretty voices, it was a rule, wasn't it? "Perhaps we should try go around it. The compass will lead us, right?"

Azzo paused... why where they going towards it. He frozen in place wrinkling his nose. "Yeah... honestly I forgot what one of my friends made for me while Grams was out of town, but I do remember it was good. The name escapes me though."

It was something fancy, after all crystal girls were... well pretty well fancy themselves, the pristine buildings and all.

He tilted his head, "I'm not sure what we'll get into if we track around it though.... And who knows how far to which side we have to go to get around it."

He was pretty sure here the rules bent and twisted to their liking. At least so far it had, almost like a nightmare... he paused, "We'll have to be careful of course." He added with a nod, thinking it might be better to risk trying to find a way around it.
