A meeting with Darcy? To say that Howl wasn't looking forward to it would have have been an understatement. He followed Calcifer to the cave; his sense of direction was failing him this evening. "Hello," he said, glancing up at Darcy. The last time he'd seen her had been at the Valentines party. "You wanted to meet me here?" he asked. This was awkward; it reminded him of the times he had to visit royalty; that was, until a thought struck him. The last time he'd been here, Darcy had just summoned him. Was she going to send him away?

"...You're not going to send me to another world, are you?" It would be just like the Darcy his imagination had created to send him away right after he was reunited with Sophie.

Calcifer had settled in the fire. "Stop poking me," he muttered. "And give me something to eat."

With a frown, Howl realized he had made himself look stupid. "It's not funny," he muttered. "I just didn't want to be sent to another world and have to start over again." Or be apart from Sophie, but he decided he wouldn't mention that part. He didn't want Darcy to laugh at him again. The wizard paused, and stared at her for a long moment. "Everything's alright, except for one thing," he said. "Where's my son? Have you brought him to Gaia yet? Is he still in the moving castle? Which, by the way, you happened to destroy by bringing Calcifer here. Do you know how Morgan is?"

"It's fine," Calcifer said, not bothering to thank Aaron for the sandwich before eating it. "Someone had to babysit," he looked pointedly towards Howl. "He wouldn't have found his way here without me," he added smugly.

Howl seemed relieved for a moment, before frowning at Darcy. "Why isn't he here, with Sophie and I? He should be. I suppose we're not technically old enough to care for him yet..." He sighed. "That's your doing, though, isn't it? He should at least be placed in one of our families so we can care for him when we're older." He paused, and glanced over at Aaron. Food sounded good...

"Doubt it. Howl hasn't been doing very well lately," the firedemon explained. "I miss home," he admitted. "And my freedom. I don't like being made to watch over a wizard turned child."

"I'd rather be told when you are planning on bringing Morgan to Gaia, and to whom you'll be giving him to." Howl said, frowning. "What do you want to know?" Even if he would have rather spoken about his family, he was quite willing to speak about himself. "Get on with it, then. Start asking questions." He went over to Aaron and gave the older boy a smile. "Do you think I can have a sandwich?" he asked.

"I know you would," Calcifer said, moving from his place in the fire. "Any decent person would." He was floating near Aaron now. "Did you know you smell of magic? Far more than your sister." He lowered his voice. "I wouldn't suggest being Howl's apprentice right now. He can hardly do even the most basic spells--hopefully his talent will return with age."

"As long as said guardian understands that Morgan is my son, that he deserves special treatment, and that he's the greatest child in all the worlds and that Sophie and I must see him at least three times a day, I suppose I will allow you to find him a capable guardian." He paused, and thought about her questions. "Adjusting... Hm. I don't know if I've adjusted well, really. I've only recently recovered my memories, and my spells are weak. Girls shun me on a regular basis--nothing about Gaia is normal."

Another pause, in which he took a bite of the sandwich Aaron'd given him. "As for growth, it's much too slow. I had been hoping to reach my proper age by now so I can rebuild my castle, take back my son, not to mention my wife, and return to life as per usual. Abilities... I can't say I've noticed anything different..." He hesitated. "Well, there is one. Sophie once enchanted a suit of mine to attract women. Here, it doesn't seem to matter what I wear. Do you think you can take the spell off? The only girl I want attracted to me is Sophie."

Calcifer rolled his eyes. "You sound like Sophie," he told him. "In fact, Howl's the only one I've ever met who was eager to accept his magical talent.Trust me, having lived with a wizard as long as I have, I know magic."

Howl personally thought he had every right to demand such; seeing as he was Morgan's father and would have been raising him himself if Darcy hadn't gone and messed with his life. "I hope not. Sophie and I are planning on returning to Ingary as soon as possible. With Morgan," he added, shooting her a glare. "I wouldn't have to grow up again if you hadn't brought me here in the first place. I'd have my heart, my wife, my son and my castle--" he fell silent. "Ask some more questions then. Or can I go home now?"

"What subject, then?" Calcifer asked. "Just know that you are highly magical. Maybe even more so than Howl."

"I miss being able to travel between worlds," Howl muttered. "I have a family here, on Gaia. I suppose life here's not really so bad..." He sighed. If he went back to Ingary, he'd miss the people he cared about here. If he stayed here, he knew he'd miss the family he had there (not to mention that Sophie would be extremely upset at not being close enough to her sisters). "Still, it doesn't make it right. You bringing me here in the first place."

Calcifer smirked for a moment. It was always the most magical ones that denied being magical, in his experience. "Ingary is..." The firedemon hesitated. "It's like Gaia, but much vaster. Ingary's only a small part of the entire world. It's a place where fairytales aren't out of place and invisibility cloaks really exist. I never really saw much of Ingary, you know. I saw more of Stangia, High Norland and such places." The firedemon drew a breath, as if to list all his great deeds. "The castle was largely my own design, you know," he boasted. "It's a tall black building with turrets. It's black and looming, just the way I like it, too. I'm the one who kept it together."
