 Blasted! What was taking that wolf so long. It had been a long time since Tierehl had hired Achilles to do one simple job for him, and so far no news of success or failure. Guess that means his reputation was not as impressive as what he had heard. He wanted to get out of here and soon. If Merrill caught him leaving she would probably hunt him down even if it meant dragging their pups along with her. Wouldn't that be a sight to see, he thought with a slight smirk on his maw.
Well either way if Achilles wasn't back in another two days he would leave with or without Penthesilea's head. He couldn't stand sticking around this place much longer, especially with all those damn pups. Sure he liked his, well to the point that he was proud that he was passing on his genes, but beyond that he couldn't really care that much. There were far too many things he needed to do, and one of them was to find himself a real mate, a nice quiet submissive female. Yes, that would be the start of a perfect day and perhaps even a new life for Tierehl. Just two more days, he told himself as he paced in a small clearing, two more days and he would never be seen in these parts ever again.

 Achilles hadn't wasted too much time on his return trip to the south, he'd set a decent ground covering pace and if he regretted making the deal with the Queen he didn't show it. He would much rather become a queens consort and sire future queens and mercenary's then do a job for a push over weakling like the patchy wolf.
He doubted this would be a hard job - on the contrary from what he had noticed about the other wolf before it would quite likely be incredibly boring. At least as far as challenges went...which made Achilles want to toy with the beast some. If he wasn't going to have a challenge from the creature - he might as well get some amusement at least...
It made sense to him. And so along the way he'd killed a rabbit and spattered a good deal of its blood on his coat, he let it dry in the sun and made sure to approach from downwind so the beast wouldn't smell the blood and figure out it was rabbits - not wolves. Appearing from the tree's he painted a morbid sight - coat spattered in blood and mud.

A slight rustling of leaves brought Tierehl out of his thoughts and his pacing came to a stop. Turning his head he looked over to see Achilles splattered in blood and mud. A smirk crept across his maw, Achilles looked like he had certainly been in a good fight. Of course he knew that Penthesilea was no push over so there would no doubt be a bit of effort to fulfill the job.
After a few moments Tierehl noticed that one very important thing was missing from the blood covered picture. Where the hell was the Queen's head? Eyes roamed over Achilles blood spattered coat, he was quite covered it in, but he couldn't see any injuries to the darker wolf per say. Did he even make it to his half sister or was he thwarted by the guards of the pack. "I don't see a head Achilles."

Achilles strode into the clearing as though he had no worries in the world. "Ah yes...the head.." He responded as he drew closer 'It was a long journey, I got tired of dragging it along. It's some where back in the wood a bit.." He told the patchy wolf with a slight motion of his muzzle. Really the whole head thing was a bit cliche anyways, Achilles couldn't even count the number of times he'd been asked to bring back head..or a paw..or a tail..or some other smelly body part for the aggressor to take his grievances out on. You'd think hiring someone to kill them would be revenge enough.
Pausing a few steps away Achilles watched the patchy wolf with a calculating eye, he expected the beast to look off in the direction he' indicated the head to be - which would be a good time to spring his sneak attack and get this whole thing over with. Beat up the cowardly softie...and return to Penthesilea for a roll in the den. Seemed like a good plan to him.

Tierehl let out a huff. It was pretty stupid of Achilles to leave his prize out in the forest where one could find it and steal it away. That had best not happen or Tierehl would not fulfill his end of this bargain. Nonetheless he glanced in the direction that Achilles had indicated. "You know you'd think that someone in your line of work would be used to carrying things like that." He commented as he took a step forward clearly wishing to see the head as proof of the job done. "It had best not be far, I do not wish to spend my day traveling in that direction." In fact he wished to be going the other way right now, not only away from Antianeira but away from Merrill and his pups as well. It was time to move on and every minute he wasted here looking for the head was more time for Merrill to find him.

"You would think so" Achilles agreed as the irritated wolf took a step in the direction he had indicated. He really was an annoying beast - despite the lack of challenge he would offer Achilles found himself looking forward to teaching him a few manners, or at least attempting to - Achilles seriously doubted he would actually learn any.
'But one get bored with such requests after a time" He continued as the wolf lifted his paw to take a step forward - that was all the opportunity Achilles needed, as the patchy wolf stood momentarily on three legs, looking off in another direction and not paying attention Achilles sprang into action.
Surging forward with all the speed his bunched muscles could muster the mottled wolf sought to slam the other to the ground with a battering ram like attack to his shoulder.

He really should have been paying attention to Achilles, but Tierehl was a bit distracted at the time. He had to worry about Merrill finding him and somehow forcing him to live here and help him raise their pups, he refused to get close to Antianeira lands and now he had to go on a small journey to be rewarded with Penthesilea's head.
"Perhaps you aren't as good as the references had said." It was at this point that Tierehl finally glanced at the darker wolf, hoping to catch a glimpse of some anger in his eyes from that comment. But what he saw instead made him faulter. Oh s**t. He didn't have anytime to react before Achilles slammed into his full force. The blow sent the unbalanced Tierehl tumbling over several times before finally landing hard on the ground. "What the hell!" He snapped as he got to his feet as quickly as possible.

It would have been a better hit if the blasted wolf hadn't turned to look at him at that last crucial moment Achilles thought to himself - but in the end he supposed it still garnered the same results and he watched with satisfaction as the patched creature went tumbling head over heels likes an unbalanced pup. So satisfying that.. especially when he'd had the gall to question Achilles abilities.
"I'm afraid' The mottled wolf told Tierehl "That a better deal has presented itself." He didn't really feel the need to explain the deal to the patchy wolf or even mention that fact that they had fought. Achilles frankly didn't care what the other wolf thought of him to begin with, he'd get far more fame siring future queens and mercenaries then he would doing a job for one cowardly wolf like Tierehl.
As the patchy wolf regained his feet Achilles didn't give him much of a chance to orient himself before flashing forward again, knowing the creature would still recall the pain of his recent leg injury and probably be prone to favoring it more Achilles snapped his teeth towards the newly healed foreleg. This was but a feint however and he leapt sideways at the last moment to snap at a hind leg instead anticipating that Tierehl would try to protect his foreleg and not notice the fact that the strike there was but a trick.

A better deal? Who the hell offered him a better deal? Must be one of those damned sisters, but who. Clearly all of them would be upset over an attempt on Penthesilea's life but finding out which one had put a hit on him might be a bit difficult. But he couldn't exactly think on those things right now as Achilles was coming in for the attach again.
As teeth snapped as his recently healed foreleg Tierehl instinctively pulled it away not wanting to have to lay around for several more days waiting for it to reheal. Of course he saw the flaw of this a bit too late and let out a yelp of pain as Achilles teeth sank into his hind leg. Damnit! If this brute did too much damage to it he wouldn't be able to escape Merrill's wrath. Snapping at Achilles' side Tierehl hoped to at least get the darker wolf away from his legs, but really he didn't know how to fight and would probably just get himself even more injured knowing his luck.

Achilles mentally preened as his feint tricked Tierehl into focusing on his forelimb rather then the hind he was actually attacking, the sensation of fang sinking into flesh was a pleasurable one and Achilles was quite pleased with himself.
Of course that was when the patchy wolf grew something of a backbone and tried to fight back by snapping at his side, irritated more then wounded by the others quick attack Achilles jerked his head upwards with the leg still clenched in his jaw hoping to jerk the wolf off his feet again. He could of course try to keep his feet- but that might prove to be the more painful option...

Why had he not learned to fight. Every time Tierehl got into a situation like this he promised himself that he would learn to fight so if it ever happened again it would turn out in his favor. Of course Tierehl was too lazy to learn to fight, so once again he was at a horrible disadvantage. But he was still hopefully that he would be able to walk away from this one - even if his walk would have a limp in it.
When he felt the pressure of Achilles pulling on his leg trying to knock him over Tierehl did the smart thing - for once - and let himself loose his balance. Better to fall down on the ground again and have a lesser injury to his leg than try to fight it and end up lame. Hitting the ground Tierehl let out a growl, not really directed at Achilles, but more at himself for getting himself into this position. Maybe if he didn't fight back Achilles would let him off easy? Probably not the case but worth a try at the very least.

The dull thud of Tierehl hitting the ground was possibly more satisfying then the feel of flesh between his teeth - however Achilles was slightly disappointed when the patchy wolf did not fight back. Not that he had expected otherwise...he had honestly been surprised when he'd gotten brave enough to even snap at his side earlier.
That seemed to the limit of his bravery however because now he was laying on the ground like a useless pile. Well at least this would be over quickly then. Releasing his leg Achilles dove forward to latch his teeth around the other's throat.

With his leg released Tierehl was lulled into a moment of security thinking that Achilles would just let him go. Well at least that's what he thought until he saw the others teeth going for his throat. Oh crap. Scrambling to get out of the way in time Tierehl managed at at last move enough so that Achilles bit down on his neck closer to his shoulder instead of the vulnerable spot he had been aiming for.
This time the growl that came into his throat was directed at Achilles. "Why don't you just kill me and get it over with." Not the smartest thing to say for sure but he was a bit overwhelmed with this whole fighting for ones life thing and clearly wasn't thinking straight.

Well it wasn't the greatest grip - but it wasn't the worst either Achilles thought to himself as Tierehl scrambled out of the way and he wound up with a grip on the lower neck rather then the throat. Of course..it wasn't to terribly important in he long run as he wasn't supposed to kill him anyways - though at the others words Achilles was irritated enough by the lack of respect to give a few vicious shakes of his head - as though he was trying to rip the skin on the wolfs lower neck to ribbons before releasing his grip and glowering at the pale wolf.
"I am not to kill you - you have pup to raise" He told the beast, slamming one paw down on the others new wounds and applying pressure so that his words would be remembered. "Your sister wishes to tell you that the enemy of her enemies are often considered a friend"

It took every ounce of his will to not cry out in pain as Achilles head shaking ripped the skin at the base of his neck. What a b*****d, he thought though this time he was smart and kept his comments to himself. Before he could attempt to get up Achilles was pressing his paw into the new wounds, this time he couldn't help but let out a cry of pain. He had clearly once again under estimated this others power. Those words, he knew those words well. "So my sister hired you then." He scoffed, now ignoring the burning pain in his shoulder. "I can't believe you sided with those female loving bitches."
