While being a good cook helps, you do not have to be a good cook to be a kitchen witch. Kitchen witches are a more focused form of home/hearth witches. They focus on what they can help and change from the kitchen of a home. Which is a lot.

First off, be sure to study up on herbs. Their uses, properties, possible detriments. Herbs are the heart and soul of home craft IMO. Someone else might say otherwise. But it's always good to know your herbs.

Yes! :3

so, my first few questions are:

1. Who do you like as far as books are concerned, and if none, then what caught your attention?

2. Do you use electronic appliances with your witchery?

3. Do you have a kitchen altar?

4. Do you include recipes with your kitchen witchery?

I am going to suggest a book set by Arin Hiscock-Murphy:

~The Way of the Green Witch
~The Way of the Hedge Witch

That is where I strated, but like SorceressJacklyn said: Know your herbs and how to use, if useable.

1. I have never looked into books. The kitchen and craft as always seemed like a good match for me.
2. No. I really see no need for them since I enjoy doing things by hand.
3. My kitchen alter is my spice rack. I do not have a formal alter whatsoever for my hearth work so I just say the whole kitchen is my alter.
4. I do create recipes solely for craft purposes. But those are rather potent and hardly have a need to use them. But I am using one of my recipes right now to help my BF with his screwed up gall bladder.

Okay. I have another set of questions.

1. Do you have other practices that you tie your witchery into?

2. Do you know othr kitchen witches, or just witches in general, in life offline?

3. Do you have a journal, or an object like a Book of Shadows/Book of Mirrors/etc., that you record things in?

4. How often do you get the chance to be close to nature in a mostly secluded area?

5. How do you dry your herbs/flowers sucessfully(not mouldy)? I've tried but they get mouldy and gross.

also, witchunterobin, how do you dry your herbs?

I have only had problems drying a few roses but that's it. I usually tie them upside down in a really dry place. I usually hang them about a window, door frame, or my altar.

I also hear that putting the herbs in a brown paper bag (I think with holes in it) is a good way to dry them as well.

I do the same, however, the plants just get really gross and stinky.

1. Bathing. I make bath mixes for different ailments that can plague a person. It's kind of like a bath tea.
2. Yes I do. In fact, I'm currently working on putting together a coven.
3. I'm a storyteller-style teacher so I remember everything I normally do. I haven't had an up-to-date BoS in years.
4. I get the chance fairly often. I live in a city but there are a couple wooded parks that are easy to get to when I feel the urge.
5. I hang mine upside down in a brown paper bag. No holes since moisture could get into the bag that way. If they're getting moldy, it means I was too late in picking them.
