Linneas once again found himself in the Legends HQ. This time he was pushing a stroller where his younger sister sat, her legs dangling inches above the ground. It was a day or so after New Years and Huni had over eaten. Not his fault! This time he was certain of it because he had warned her to stop at her fifth serving. And now he was required by the physically ill woman to bring Paestri out of the house more.
Why Me?
Why not you?
Still bundled up for the cold weather, Paestri struggled to remove the mittens Linneas dressed her in. These were the wrong kinds, they had no fingers and it disturbed the Legend to see her hand as one solid lump.
"Leenee, waiiiiiii?" she demanded, kicking her legs a bit as she tried once again to yank the mittens off.

Neith came into the HQ, after a long time of not being there. She wasn't sure where to go or what to think... so just put Aquene down on the floor and stood there.
"Ok. Um... Hello?"
Aquene toddled into the building without a second thought, using the walls or furnature as a prop to keep herself up on two feet. She was seeking the maker of the noises, and kept poking her head around doors... or under couches, or under toys.
Whoever it was, could be anywhere!

Linneas was unbuckling Paestri from her stroller when he heard voices. He followed after the sound and peered around the corner. Spotting a woman and another toddler, he waved to them and smiled.
"Hello there."
Paestri was seated on the floor and finally managed to free herself of the accursed mittens!
"Leenee, hu?"

Aquene had wriggled under the rug a tiny bit more, she had thought she'd found the maker of the voice.
Her head poked out the edge, wings sticking up through the top like two strange flat attennas. "Baa?"
Neith looked a bit relieved to see someone else, so she picked up Aquene, dusted her off and went straight in that direction. "Hi!"

Linneas felt relieved that this woman seemed to be the friendly sort.
"I'm Linneas, this is my little sister Paestri." he introduced as he scooped up the pink haired girl into his arms.
Paestri giggled as she was lifted from the floor, she purposely let go of her mittens and let them drop. Bye bye to the nasty things! She then set her icing pink eyes at the other big person and the small person she carried.
"Huuuu?" she asked, gesturing to the small person who seemed to sparkle.

Neith stood a bit closer, so that Aquene could see the other better. She smiled, blowing hair out of her face as she held out a hand. "I'm Neith, and this is Aquene... who's now Eeenie. We've been travelling... so we haven't been around. I thought I should bring Eeenie in to meet others."
Aquene stared at the other little person... and stared, and stared, and stared. She didn't even blink. Then she reached out and tried to get a hold of Paestri, a foot, a toe, a hand, anything! What did the other feel like? "Oooo..."

Linneas accepted the offered hand and firmly shook it, "Travelling? That sounds fun, where'd you go to?" he was genuinely interested in travel, the teen had wanted to go around Gaia but he felt tied to the shop. Something seemed to keep him close and not to let him get too far away from it.
Paestri clapped her hands in delight at the other small person, she looked like a lot of fun! She stretched her arms out but couldn't quite reach Aquene.
"Leenee, dao'!" she ordered, hoping that her brother understood her desire to be lowered back on the floor.
The Tale chuckled at Paestri's demand, he had been trying his best to teach her how to read and write (under his mother's orders), he was successful to some extent.
"Looks like Eeenie and Pae wants to get to know each other a little better." he chuckled and moved towards the couch where he set her down.

"I think you're right" Neith agreed, following as she tried to get Aquene back into a position that was safe. Hanging off like a monkey only made it more likely that the little girl would fall off again.
She sat down, and set Aquene down on the ground. Once Aquene was on the ground, she climbed up onto her unsteady feet and tried to find the other little one.
"Anyway, we went up north. I came from there, and I decided to go home for the holidays." Neith continued, as she watched Aquene's movements. "And brought Aquene... she seemed to love it."

Paestri peered down from the couch at Aquene. The other small person was still out of her reach! Her lower lip quivered a bit as she whimpered to Linneas.
"Daaaaaoooooo', Leeneeeeeeee."
Linneas chuckled in apology to both Neith and Paestri as he set the pink-haired legend on the floor.
"Here you go, Pae." He smiled fondly, "Up north, huh? Was it really cold there?" he asked, knowing very little about the world beyond the park and the shop.
Paestri, finally on the ground, crawled towards Aquene, intent on figuring out what she tasted like. She hoped it was something nice, like Prana's taste.

"No... it seemed better up there than it did down here." Neith replied, watching the two girls. She wasn't sure how Aquene would go meeting another- the last time she was here, she tried to stare at someone's hands for hours.
Aquene didn't seem interested in Paestri's hands. She decided to crawl over to the other baby, as if she was coping the other little girl's behavior.
Maybe the other girl had ears like the other girls! Aquene had to check that.

"The cold's nice, but my mom doesn't like the cold. She came from a more tropical climate and ended up freezing when Winter came." He chuckled, "I hope you don't mind my asking but would you know what Legends are exactly?" and he briefly glanced over at the two girls.
The first order of business for Paestri was to find out what the other small person's name was. She never did listen whenever Huni or Linneas introduced themselves, believing they were talking about something else.
She stopped just a few inches from Aquene and pointed to herself,
"Pays'li!" And gestured to the other Legend, "Hu?"

"My oldest daughter feels the same way. I'm glad I'm not supporting her now- it cost a fortune to buy her enough clothes in winter." Neith paused, well aware of just how odd that would have sounded to Linneas. After all, Neith still looked like she was in her twenties. Glad of the change of topic, she shook her head. "No idea. I sometimes wonder if Aquene knows either."
Aquene didn't stop when Paestri did, she moved right up till she was against the other little girl, and took Paestri's hand in her hands. She gazed at it, as if she was trying to find something in it. While she did it, she pointed at herself and replied, "Eeenie."

Paestri cooed upon Aquene's touch, the other small person tasted nice. Different from Prana, but a good different. The pink haired Legend decided she was going to like this girl.
"Eeenie!" she echoed in delight, pleased that she finally met someone whose name she could pronounce properly. She gestured over to where her brother was and introduced him to Aquene, nevermind that he had done the same earlier. "Leenee!"
The Tale wasn't really concerned about how young or old Neith looked, to him, everyone could be a parent. He wasn't aware of the way nature made children, as Huni never thought to tell him of the birds and the bees. And it seemed his hormones had yet to kick in.
"Mom's been trying to figure out what sort of Legend Pae is, but she's not having much luck." Linneas chuckled, "She ends up getting recipes and keeps trying to bake, although that usually ends up in a disaster." he shook his head, recalling Huni's food poisoning.

Aquene wasn't sure what the other girl was cooing over. But the hand was very interesting! Aquene wasn't sure why that was, either. She let go of the hand reluctently and gazed up at the big person. "Leenee?"
"Maybe she was one of the world's best chefs once. But then, how many chefs end up being legends?" Neith stared down at them both. "I don't know what Aquene would be. She likes trees, she likes to be quiet a lot, and there's an unusual pair of wings on her back. That's about all that makes her different."

Paestri grinned at Aquene and wondered if the other small person knew the HQ. She hadn't been anywhere else but the lobby, since it seemed that's where her mama or Linneas kept her. She glanced around the building and spotted a hallway leading to the kitchen and gestured at it.
"Whe' dat 'o?" she asked, she still found it difficult to speak despite the numerous lessons her brother gave her. She understood the letters and their pronounciation, she just couldn't seem to say it. Needless to say it frustrated her.
Linneas laughed, "Maybe, but Pae's more interested in getting her hands in the food rather than making them. And Pae doesn't have anything unusual about her, except resembling a strawberry frosted chocolate cake or something.
"Trees and quiet is good, and it's odd but no one in my household has wings. Except Icing, but as a bird-like creature, it's a default thing..." he chuckled.
'Smooth, Linneas, real smooth.'
