It was interesting to note how not one night seemed to resemble the previous in the slightest, as far as hunting went. Granted, he usually more or less managed the same outcome (save times when he was interrupted - the outcome then changed exponentially), but the string of events that led to the outcome were always different.
More or less anyhow.
This time, Rhodizite hadn't even needed to move a muscle. He hadn't lashed out with his chain, hadn't punched... hell, hadn't moved from his hiding place, stationed behind a random tree that hid him from the main path of the park. He'd spotted how a random man (a burglar, an honest to god normal burglar - those were rare now a days) assault a pedestrian that had been taking a stroll. The assaulted man had fought back and had landed a few lucky hits, knocking out the burglar and then running away.
Blinking, bemused, Rhodizite stepped out of his hiding place and knelt down by the fallen man, "Tonight sure isn't your lucky night, is it now?" that said, he paused a minute before sinking his hand into the man's chest.
It wasn't like anyone would miss this one anyhow.

The parks. Pomona had heard horror stories abut the parks. The vast majority of the action seemed to happen in the parks, which was why, cowardly though it may seem, that Pomona typically avoided the parks, at least when alone. This particular night she had been on the fringes of the park, with no intention of going in, when she felt what she now recognized to the energy signal of the “bad guys.” She diverted to the nearest cluster of bushes and powered up, jogging at a half-hearted pace in the general direction of where she thought the Nega Agent was, the sound of a scuffle reassuring her that she was going the right way.
Pomona had been seriously considering summoning her magic cell phone and calling a teammate for back up when she caught sight of a familiar outfit. Eyebrow arched, she called out, “ That doesn’t look like playing nice. Am I going to have to punish you?”
Hm, that sounded kinda kinky. Not the effect she had been going for, but it was somewhat amusing. She wondered if Negaverse agents were above saying "That's what she said".

It wasn't her words that made him recoil his hand from within the man's chest; he'd heard cheesy lines like that many times before. It was whom was issuing the words forth that made Rhodizite's hand retract from it's goal, "Oh god, not you again," he murmured, suddenly looking moody as he watched Pomona, "For once, I didn't do this. He was like this - I'm just doing the city a favor," granted, he didn't particularly think she was going to believe him off the bat, but it was the truth.
Regardless, he had recoiled his hand out of the man, and remain squatting beside him, looking up at the senshi with a dull, almost unreadable expression. At least it looked like he wasn't particularly interested in fighting her; if Serandite had assigned him a partner like he'd mentioned during the meeting... then this wouldn't have been a problem.
As it was, he couldn't really risk engaging battle with Pomona, "I didn't do this. If it'd been me, he'd have more than just a couple of bruises. I was just finishing off what someone else started," a pause, "You are annoying. Are you following me?" yet another pause, "I don't think this arrangement is particularly healthy for either of us," if he'd caught how 'kinky' her words had sounded, he wasn't showing sign of it. Then again, his weapon has a damned bone attached to a chain, so he probably wasn't the most appropriate person to comment on such things.

“ Aw, not happy to see me again? I’m crushed.”
Pomona was not exactly thrilled to see him either, though she was grateful that it was him and not some other Negaverse agent, seeing as how he looked less inclined to fight her. A fight-free day was a good day in Pomona’s book.
When Rhodizite tried to claim innocence Pomona couldn’t help but raise an eyebrow. “ Uh-huh. We also seem to differ over the definition of what a favor is.”
She paused, listening to the rest of what he said. Then she snorted. “ Yes, I’m following you. There’s nothing I’d love to do more in my spare time.” The thin layer of sarcasm coating those words indicated that it was a lie.
“ Why don’t you step away from the civilian and pull up a bench or tree? We can debate the finer points of morality, justice, and the meaning of life much better that way.”
If Rhodizite really wasn’t going to fight, then all she had to do was get him to leave and then she could call it a day. She knew she was pressing her luck by trying to hold a conversation with the Negaverse agent, but she felt compelled to see and what, if any information she could wrangle from him. You never knew what might prove useful, and besides, Pomona still had many questions that had yet to be answered.

He opted for giving the girl a pointed look, then made mental note that he should probably really consider teaming up with someone else. Even if Serandite had not yet assigned him a partner... maybe it was time to start actively looking for one on his own, since this was getting seriously ridiculous.
Alas, with a self suffering sigh, Rhodizite pulled his hands up and held them in the air, his palms facing the girl as it to prove he wasn't going to push things any further than this, "Fine," he told her, his gaze lidded as he pushed himself to his feet, "You will regret that later when the creep tries to attack someone that isn't lucky enough to knock him out."
That said, he took a step back and away from the fallen man and arched a brow at Pomona. Despite the fact it seemed like the girl wasn't going to attack, one of his hands remain curled around the chain he always carried. It was clear he didn't trust her, and it was obvious he was going to remain wary and ready for action at the drop of a hat, "I don't know, girl. You seem to really not have anything better to do with your spare time than to annoy me," a pause, "You want to talk?" he sounded mildly scandalized by the idea, though in his defense, she was the first senshi that had pulled that on him, "You must be joking."

“ Joking? Not really. I’m… curious, you could say.”
Of course, Pomona was aware that, even with the threat of peppers, he was unlikely to cooperate and just answer her questions. Instead she tried to think of some way to entice him.
“ Talking could be mutually beneficial. Might learn something interesting.”
Pomona had no intention of giving away any important information, and she doubted he would either, so this could be an interesting exercise. If nothing else she might get an indication as to how intelligent her opponent was. After all, it didn’t take a big brain to swing a chain.
She walked a couple steps to her side to a big tree and leaned against its trunk. She kept one foot propped up behind her so she could push off easily, if need be, but she was hoping the only other excitement she’d have today would be of a mental variety. Well, that and getting a run of the mill scumbag arrested.

A frown followed the girl's words, his eyes trained on her as he watched her warily. Rhodizite looked very much like a wary, caged animals, absolutely unsure of where this was going; in his defense, he wasn't in the habit of chatting his enemies up. It'd always seemed counter productive to him to do so, "Yes well. Curiosity killed the cat," it was true that at the current moment he was a bit hand tied, but that did not mean he wouldn't take up the opportunity to hurt her if it ever presented itself. He just hoped she knew that; they were enemies, not... chatting buddies.
"You can not be serious," he told her as he watched the way she went to lean against the tree. Despite himself, he rolled his eyes slightly and followed her, taking a spot beside her as he leaned against the tree trunk. Rhodizite was deep down hoping that someone (preferably another agent - where the hell was everyone when he needed them?) would notice the fact his energy signature was with a senshi one and they'd come help. For now though, he figured that entertaining the girl was the only thing he could do.
"You... are extremely strange. And not the brightest star in the heavens. Why would you want to talk with your enemy?" he just couldn't understand it.

“ ‘Know thy enemy’.’ She quoted. “ Figured the saying might have some merit.”
It didn’t hurt that it was, yet again, a stall tactic. Encounters with Rhodizite were much easier when his victim of the day was awake and capable of moving. When they were out of it then Pomona had to protect them. Pomona didn’t like to fight, and Rhodizite wasn’t likely to retreat every time, so… yeah.
Besides, she had called the cops on her way to the park.
“ Example: you’re not into astronomy. I’m an asteroid, not a star.”
Trivia for the win.
She could here the shouts of approaching cops, so she gave Rhodizite a parody of a bow before saying, “ That’s our cue. ‘til next time.”
And Pomona fled, barely missing the cops as they came into view of the mugger.
(( Unless DFA has something to add, this is an end post.))
