A'li had to just grin to himself and shake his head when Zinth declared she wanted to find their bunkmates before it was time to sleep, because by the time sleep rolled around she slept much like a rock and probably only Thread falling would wake her from its clutches. Breakfast hadn't given them much luck in tracking down the darker green and Hers, but that was fine. Zinth was seeing this whole endeavor as a game, which was giving her plenty to think over with where her clutch sister could be hiding. (Some hiding spots were very strange choices, like the glowbaskets.)
"They could be out by the water Zinth, let's have a look there and see how many hiding places you find to check in there." A'li just grins faintly at the vivid blue eyes that look at him before the green dragonet starts heading for the nearest door they can see. Apparently finding new possible hiding places sounded like a good idea to her.
I'll find her Alimine! And plenty of places to hide too! "Yes, but outside is through the other door. We haven't gone there yet. Walk beside me and we'll get there fast enough."

Ralae! There are soooo many pretty stones and shells! I want to gather them! I can make shapes with them. Zabreth declared to her beloved. The emerald green dragonet had set out on a mission after eating, oiling, eating, sleeping... Etc. She had her head held up high and was marching along determinedly.
Ralae could only walk along behind her, amused and proud of what her dragon could do. Already, the little green and gathered all that was shiny and made little...sculptures? Designs? Either way, it was very pretty and Ralae made sure to admire it greatly. She headed to where she had found Cheer's nest.
And speaking of the gold, the flit was actually sitting on Zabreth's shoulders, chirping at everything they passed. Lazy thing that she was... Ralae was amused and wished she was talented enough to sketch the scene.

A'li keeps a grin on his face once they make it outside, and Zinth is already going and listing off all of the possible hiding spots her clutch sister could be using. Of course, most of them are too small, the others empty, but she doesn't seem to mind that bit of information at all. "Watch your step too Zinth. I don't want you tripping over anything because you're looking off to the side." He still hadn't quite gotten used to the thinking to speak with her just yet.
I will, mine! Oh, she could be hiding under that soft green stuff. Empty.. I'll find her, mine, I know it! Zinth happily bounces in her step as she passes the moss, and small dug-out earth under it, continuing the search. Oh, mine I hear someone! Looking up and craning her neck, she gives the best trumpet of greeting she can muster, which is just a little bit squeaky yet.
A'li turns to where she's looking, giving a nod. "I see them too Zinth." He has to pick up the pace to keep up with the little green as she darts that way, not waiting for the return to her greeting. She had to see who it was now!

Look! Look what I have made! Zabreth told hers excitedly. Small dragon claws had managed to make a pile of rocks of all colors and sizes. The little dragonet was now moving the stones from side to side and trying to make other shapes with them. There was another smaller pile of shells that she had yet use. Sweeping her tail from side to side like a happy canine, Zabreth was happily content to just be.
Ralae, seizing the opportunity, had starting making little structures in the sand. The teen was trying to replicate the Weyr but was failing miserably. Undaunted, she had smooshed the sand down and was now trying to make a replica of Zabreth with her stone pile. Not life sized of course. And it required some talent. Ralae did not have much. There was a large lump, a long tail part and a smallish lump that would sooner or later be the head. "Wow, that's really pretty Zabreth! Hopefully, I can make this look right."
Suddenly mischievous, Zabreth splayed out on her stones and scattered them about. I think someone is coming. They can not have my stones.
Looking up, Ralae was suddenly wary. None of the others sought her out unless she was in trouble or they wanted her to do something. It was only a few days after Hatching, what could anyone want with her? "Lo?"

Mine! Mine they see us! Zinth really wastes no time in heading towards the pair, another happy little bugle when she sees the green hide. Mine I found her! I told you I would! Oh yes, she was very happy now that the self-assigned mission was complete.
A'li raises his hand to wave as he splits his focus to keep up with the dragon. "Zinth be careful, there are rocks on the ground." He uses the same firm, but still warm voice he hadn't had the ability to touch into since he no longer cared for his younger sister. A nice feeling getting to watch over her like that.
"Hey! Sorry about running up on you like this. Zinth wanted to find her clutch sister. We're bunk partners." He offers a smile to the girl, not for the first time glad to be sharing bunks with someone who wasn't male. "I don't think we met before the Hatching though. I'm A'li, and this is, of course, Zinth."
Zinth ignores the greeting Hers is giving, plopping herself right down to stare at the darker green with eyes whirling a vivid blue. I found you! None of the hiding spots I checked had you, but I found you now! What's Yours' name?

They are coming! Do not let her take my stones! Zabreth squee'd loudly in Ralae's head. The green sat up as straight as possible and looked over the other green. This one... This one... Oh! She hatched with this one. Not as defensive now, the emerald snorted happily. Leaning forward so that snout was almost touching snout, Zabreth replied. Mine is Ralae. I didn't know I was hiding. I was making things.
Ralae looked up at the one who introduced himself as A'li. Not that she was familiar with every face in the weyr but when it came to the current candidates, she did try to keep up. And she knew that had once been Alirien. And that he wasn't weyr bred. But that was okay because they were know all dragon riders. Rubbing her sandy hands against her sides, the young girl stood up and stared. He was a good head taller than she was and would probably ever be... "Hey there. Um, yeah. I'm Ralae. I did see your name as my bunk mate but you know... New dragon, keeps you busy."
Strange that Ralae had butterflies in her stomach. It was just another kid, another dragon rider with a green just like her. But she was the one used to going up and bugging people for information. Now that sandal was on the other foot, it was a little unnerving.

A'li gives a light nod to that, and looks over at Zinth and Zabreth for just a moment to make sure that Zinth's burst of happy he's feeling is at least somewhat mutual. It seems like everything is going smoothly, so his attention is on Ralae again quickly. "Oh, very.. Zinth, so far, does not like to be made idle. She has to be given something to do so I've been busy supplying that."
He chuckles faintly though, offering a grin. "She was convinced that Zabreth and you were hiding somewhere, and would have searched the whole Weyr if she could. Sorry if she startled you two, charging over. She's a little faster than I thought she'd be." Oh, he feels the pride flowing off of his little Green now for that compliment.
Not hiding? But I couldn't find you! I found all the best hiding spots and they were empty. If she could try and remember those hiding spots, she might use them herself, but not now. Later. Making things? Oh oh like what? Can I see? I don't know how to make things. Something new to learn! See, see, she knew finding her clutch sister was a good mission!

"Yes... I have been showing Zabreth around the weyr. I think we start classes soon and then we will be stuck inside for a while." Ralae replied thoughtfully. Her eyes went soft looking as she gazed at the two greens nose to nose. "You are not from the weyr are you? I wonder if my father or mother was in the crowd to watch me Impress. Not that I care. I saw my oldest half brother Doral there."
Maybe you were hiding and I found you? These are my stones. All different colors. Ralae told me. Black. Brown. White. Tan. I was making... Zabreth paused. What had she been making. Scooting backward, she used her little claw to bring a large scoop to show Zinth. See? I made my pile.
"I am sure she will be very fast once she hits the skies! As so will Zabreth. Of course, we won't be allowed in a wing for at least two turns. Rules are rules, you know!" Ralae continued on.

A'li nods to that. "No, you're right. I'm from one of the smaller holds, but I guess it doesn't matter now. This is where I belong, with Zinth." How could he ever have even considered going back home just earlier this turn before the clutch had been laid. It's impossible to think such a thin now. "None of my family was here, but that doesn't matter it's a long way to travel and I probably would have ended up scolding my younger sister for coming so far if she had." He bears a grin at the thought. He could scold them, but not Zinth, never.
Zinth's eyes whirl between blue and green quickly and she offers s much of a smile as a young dragon can. It's a very good pile! They're so shiny too. Oh, oh, the red one on the bottom looks like our clutch sister, it's dark like she is!
"I'm sure they will be. But I'm in no hurry for Wings, now is definitely enough."

"A small hold? I have never even been outside the Weyr! What was it like to travel. So, I only really talk to my oldest half-brother but he has a spouse and a brat so I don't talk to him that much." Ralae pulled her knees to her chest, looking her very young age and sighed. "That is okay, I have Zabreth and she is all that matters... I never knew how much it would change me. I thought I would know because I grew up around here."
She paused in thought. Normally, her mouth ran a mile a minute but for some reason Ralae was feeling quiet and comfortable. Perhaps, she didn't want to give the wrong impression. With only one real friend in the Weyr, the girl longed for another person to share her thoughts and goals.
I am here for you. I will not leave. Zabreth responded instantly. Blinking, she nosed her rocks around to show them off to Zinth. Shiny and so smooth. I can make them high, watch! The little green scooped them all into a rather large pile and then flopped over on them. Wiggling herself comfortable, she was now staring at Zinth upside. You really must try.
"I am not in a rush either. Too many times people rush around and make mistakes. Not a good thing, nope. I like the way things are going now. Have you already brought your stuff to our bunk?"

"The travel wasn't too bad, but I had never left the hold, or my little sisters before then so that did make it difficult. It wasn't a long trip Either, by dragonback at all." A'li does manage to grin just a bit, thinking back on it. He wouldn't admit that the trek had possibly scared him, of course not.
"I do miss my sisters some, but Zinth is definitely better. I would have had to eventually give them up when they did find boys to chase after, Zinth.. she won't leave though and that's really great."
Zinth watches her clutchsister closely as she demonstrates the pile. Oh! That is high! How do they not fall over that high? You think I should? Would you help me find some to make high like yours? They don't have to be shiny though like yours are. That way yours are special. She gives a dragon grin and sways her tail back and forth quickly, already looking around for stones to gather into her own pile.
"Slow is a nice pace, but Zinth doesn't like it that much. If we slow down too much she gets a little bored." A'li glances over to see the two greens still looking content. "I have. Just set it to the side though, didn't claim a bed. You can have the first pick of our bunk if you like."

"Oh yeah. I suppose eventually they would want to go to a craft or get espoused or something like that... Not me! No way! I think maybe I would have helped the Head Woman or something like that.. I dunno. I never trained for a craft or nothing else. I just knew I would Impress," Ralae decided suddenly. And how could she not know with Zabreth looking at her with such loving eyes.
When A'li mentioned her choice of bunk, she merely shrugged. At one point in her life, she had slept in a bed piled with four other girls, having her own bed was exciting but all beds were the same. "I will take the one closest to the door, I guess. In case, Zabreth tries to make a break for it or something."
I don't know why they don't fall but when I hit them, and Zabreth knocked at them again, they fall over. We can go and find rocks all over. C'mon! Zabreth rolled off her pile and started off in a very determined direction towards the lake shore and where she vaguely remembered where rocks might be.
