For the Log portion of this RP, which was started on AIM between iGotGreen and myself, shall be here in the first post. We shall carry on as a usual RP from here on out. Heika Heika had spent most of the indoors, mostly puttering about the kitchen with her daddy. They had gone on a baking spree and made all sorts of things. It certainly helped that Daddy Yuuki had a titan-sized sweet tooth, herself only having a relatively small one in comparison. Plate sized cinnamon rolls were first, and mostly gone once breakfast was over. Sweetbreads, banana and raisin pecan, were baked soon after. A few varieties of cookies followed that. The weather outside had been relatively warm for the time of year, so Heika didn't mind staying inside. She had inherited her mother's longer coat, so heat did sometimes get to her. Now that it was later in the afternoon, pushing more towards evening, Heika finished helping clean up the kitchen, packed a little goody box, and headed out. It had cooled down considerably now that some cloud cover had rolled in and the sun was no longer at its peak in the sky. Hugging her dads goodbye, she went on her way, looking for a place that seemed cozy enough to sit and enjoy herself. Perhaps do a bit of stretching while she was at it, she was wearing some shorts under her dress after all. Why not? After a good bit of walking, Heika found a decent little clearing where the soft grass wasn't too long and the tree cover offered sun dappled shade. The Maine Coon, Egyptian Mau mix set her goody box down on a wide root and stretched her arms over her head with a sigh. This place was perfect for just hanging out. A brook was nearby somewhere. She could hear its soft burbling from where she stood. Smiling softly, she unwrapped the tin box, singing softly to herself. The tune of the day was a Christmas carol, of all things, but she couldn't help it. Good King Wenceslas was stuck in her head since she had woken up that morning. Othello Othello had lost touch with his ‘home’, the facility in which he received his current problems; in fact he couldn’t really remember where it was, or precisely where he was headed. “Well aren’t we in a bit of a predicament.” He pondered out loud, pelt short, but cozy in the increasingly chilly night air. He eye-balled the sky, he missed the stars he vaguely remembered looking at when he was a young kitten, he could remember nothing else. Natural beauty was the easiest to keep to his attention. His brain had zoned again, shocking, he was suddenly face-to-face with a cozy looking clearing. He blinked slowly, his good eye gazing lovingly at the soft grass, the pads of his paws welcomed its cool comfort. He openly sighed and began to pull his body in a lazy fashion, stretching, yawning and moving on.
Of all things he had his nose still, his left eye blind and memory weak with some small things. He himself was strong at heart and had a slight muscle build from tests. He closed his eyes and took in a big whiff of the air around him before heaving it out, he smiled slightly, a sweet scent welcomed him warmly, another cat was about, and with a treat it seemed. His belly growled deeply, not his common personality, but it sounded awful mean. “Where could that be coming from!” He gasped, voice trailing about, sound waves moving freely against a light breeze. Heika Heika had settled against one of the trees of the clearing, opened tin sitting at her side now. The second repetition of "Good King Wenceslas" had concluded and she had paused to neatly fold the handkerchief that she had wrapped the tin up with, when a rustling drew her attention. It was followed shortly by an exclamation which had startled her. It had been so quiet that the sound of another cat's voice caught her by surprise. She shifted herself, ears perked forward to find the source. It didn't take her any time at all to spot the all white male. "Oh, hello..." She began, offering a bit of a sheepish smile before answering his exclamation. "That's probably coming from me. You're more than welcome to join me. I don't mind." The tom seemed to have seen better days, but she wasn't bothered by his scars or his blinded eye. She had packed plenty of goodies, really more than what she could finish off herself, so she didn't mind sharing. While some of her siblings may not be so comfortable with just anyone upon first meetings, Heika preferred to wait to get to know others before deciding on her opinion of them. Else-wise the white cat might have been deemed quite loud and rude! "I'm Heika, by the way."

He was startled by the voice, his one good eye settling on her steadily. He smile in a friendly manor and shuffled closer, paws taking their time finding the ground and keeping him still. "That would be lovely.." He paused awaiting the name, he got it after a slowly descending of her eye's and then a friendly grin in return. He takes a seat close to the root that held her precious treats, he couldn't help his jaw opening slightly and he felt his cheeks flush, the treats smelt so delicious.
"My names Othello." He said quickly, licking his lips which he hadn't noticed dried out slightly, he was relieved after having regained control of his wants.

He didn't seem too bad. There were no threatening gestures or posturing. He had a pretty nice smile. Heika smiled when he took a seat near her. Her gaze followed his to the open box of goodies. Giving a little laugh, she flicked her tail and wrapped it around her. "You can have some if you'd like. I brought too many. My dad and I mad too many for that matter." She nudge the box a little closer to the male, that now, upon closer inspection, could be marked as an albino if she was telling properly.
"It's nice to make your acquaintance, Othello. Don't feel like you have to not eat on account of being proper or what have you. I know some aren't comfortable eating around strangers, or people they just met for that matter. Are you new? I don't think I've seen you in the area before."

"I just esca.. uh left my home for a little while." He gave a half hearted smile, his sweet tooth spiking briskly as he took his first bite into the nearest sweet. "These are absolutely wonderful Heika!" He gasped, heart hammering as he bit off another large piece, almost more then he could fit into his mouth!
Before he knew what he was doing he had eaten about half the box of goodies she offered to share and was suddenly very aware of the silence he was causing, he blushed gradually and stifled a small embarrassed giggle.
"I'm sorry, I have a destructive sweet tooth!" He laughed, a booming echoey laugh that he hoped covered his moment of blushing. He wasn't much of a people person and hadn't had a treat like this since his Mother was alive, he sighed softly at the memories that flitted then relaxed.

She blinked at the half sentence before Othello corrected himself. She angled her head slightly, giving a little dip, showing that she wasn't going to push the subject. "I see. Well, getting away can sometimes be nice." Heika watched as he took a bite of one of the closer sweets to him. She flushed softly, beamed, and laughed at such positive praise. "Oh, why thank you, Othello! Don't forget to chew. I don't want to have to rescue you from my cooking." She finished with a little chuckle and nibbled at a bit of banana bread that she had selected.
Heika didn't mind the relative quiet. Her siblings were certainly a rambunctious lot so sometimes quiet was hard to come by. She did occasionally glance over to the male, to make sure he wasn't choking or if he was looking for anything in particular in the tin of sweets. She couldn't help but smile at his gradual blushing and little giggle.
"No need to apologize. There's plenty more at home, so by all means, have at it! My dad and I are just cooking fiends so everything is done fresh. I've got a big family so it generally all gets eaten, but there's always the potential for extras. My momma isn't much one for sweets, so when Daddy Yuuki and I get on a pastry kick, there's plenty left over." Heika chuckled and looked to Othello, wiping a few crumbs off of her own face. "Do you have anything that you like in particular? Maybe if we meet up again, I can make it for you. if you'd like."

He thought hard about this question, giggling accordingly to her large family stories, he tried desperately to fight an urge of spilling his life stealing moment, the day he lost his family, but he ignored the pain that struck his heart and fought forward. "Well.." He pondered slightly, gazing at her fondly, "My Mother used to make this very amazing dessert after, or during making a pie." He smiled, took a breath between bites of her delicious treats.
"They're called pinwheels, from what I can remember, made from spare pastry, some cinnamon and other things." He smiled at the memory, a sad smile. "Her Mom, my Grandma taught her, we used to sit together while she baked, she'd keep me nearby to attempt teaching, but I would sooner crisp my pelt then bake anything. His giggle from earlier became a forced raspy one now.
"Those are my favorites, I don't know if you know about them, and you certainly don't have to make them if you don't want to." He was blushing now, meeting again!? He was pleasantly surprised that she'd be so willing, he needed a friend, and here, right out of his prison he'd found one.

Heika sat with feet neatly together, just listening with a little half-smile on her lips, as if that's the way she was born. Maybe she had been. Her smile grew warmer and soft at learning of Othello's mother and grandmother. She didn't mind that he was talking between bites of food. Better to get it eaten than have it go stale and go to waste. She nodded after pausing a moment to think on whether she had heard of or cooked any pinwheels. She hadn't before, but she knew her Daddy Yuuki would know the recipe. He seemed to have a recipe for any type of goodie out there.
Her brows knit together slightly at noting his sad smile and his forced laugh. "They sound like wonderful women, Othello." She bowed her head and cleared her throat before returning her pale green gold gaze to him. "I've heard of pinwheels. I can't say I've ever made them before, but I think I can manage with some help from my daddy." A light laugh escaped her. "I always want to cook! My days are usually divided between sleeping, eating, cooking, and working out and spending time with my mom. I love learning new things too, so if my pinwheels turn out good and pass for approval, I'll have to keep the recipe for future use!" Heika gave a certain nod, cementing her statement as the gospel truth.

Othello was moved by her warming welcome into the area, then offering sweet treats and further more listening to him ramble. He admired her kindness and offer of more treats. "You simply have to be the woman for me!" He said jokingly, smile in a wonderful grin and eye's, good and bad, both glued to her. He admired her beauty with a gentle sigh, he'd suddenly become just over joyed.
"I miss them greatly, they were, as you said, such wonderful women." His smile pressed on, a few sightings of tears pressed from his eye's, but soon disappeared, he missed his family, missed the way things were before he'd become a facility cat, but didn't want to fluster her with more then a few simple tears that he couldn't help.
"It is good to have a Dad and Mom to spend time with, cooking sounds great! I've never tried it before.. Perhaps, one day.. you could show me?" He asked, eye's widening excitedly, his somber attitude, quiet, simple, but happy was exchanged for pure excitement to cover up horrors.

Heika blinked then laughed at his joking statement, a light flush touching her face. She fanned herself and sighed, smiling to Othello. "Mighty early to guess that sort of thing, but who knows." She laughed again, her fluffy tail curling this way and that behind her. "You never can quite tell. Heaven knows. We may have some grand future together, but let's just start with chatting over cookies first. Hm?" She chuckled softly and nodded.
The mixed breed angled her head and offered a softer smile. "They sound like I would have liked them a great deal. Do you have any other family," She asked, her voice somewhere between normal speech and a whisper. She didn't know if family was a tender subject and she didn't want to make him uncomfortable, especially since they just met. Heika held up her hands. "You don't have to answer if you don't want to..."
At the question of her possibly showing the white tom how to cook, she just beamed. Her face lit up like Christmas and she folded her hands over her heart. "Really? You'd like me to? 'Cause I would absolutely love to show you some time! You, me, and Daddy Yuuki can make things together!" She leaned over slightly and lowered her voice in a mock conspiratorial whisper. "He's king of the kitchen, but I can totally rule the roost if left to my own devices." She giggled and sat back up. "We can start with something easy and see how we want to go from there! How's that sound? Maybe you can watch me make your pinwheels. I've never had an audience before, I bet it would be fun!"
