Is it truly random or is it more what the artist feels like doing? How is it calculated?

As the 'Random' DNA Digivolution Rules have explained, there is a system that has so far been working great, and as the definition states it is not completely random, hence 'Random', and that in the sense that it cannot be just any Digimon there is that follows Level wise, but it comes down to the system that I have created in order for it to be fair to all Tamers. 3nodding sweatdrop

if our digimon has already random dna-digivolved, can we still dna-digivolve if it follows the digi line like bancho leomon with darkdramon

i cannot random dna if my digimon has already been through normal dna digivolution right??

Like I had mentioned above, there is a system that does at times come out with 'Random' DNA Digivolution. You cannot always expect it, as there might be 1 or more possible outcomes.

You have been able to Normal DNA as many times as you can, if possible, and you are able to 'Random' DNA Digivolve your Digimon if it has already been DNA Digivolved normally.
