Such an interesting question if Iv ever seen one. Unlike followers of christianity, one cannot say for sure if a deity has spoken directly to them. Lets face it there are literally hundreds of yahoo's in books and on tv that swear Yahweh (God) have spoken to then directly.
I my self do not think a deity has spoken to me. But from time to time I will get a sense of the fact there is someone or something with me in the moment. I do believe in gods and extremely powerful entities that move about us in every day life. There where even times my dreams would become very profound and precise. Like they acted on the will of another. Which is a surprise to me since I have had chronic nightmares since before my Naval enlistment. Even to this day some of them stay with me, as I would come upon a moment that I was certain I'd seen before.

Even the ghost of days gone past can seem like gods to us at some times. My understanding is that I am going to be alone until I'm needed. Until that time I shall keep my eyes open and ears to the ground.
The only dream I can ascertain to be driven by godly hands is a figure I see more then any other.
A woman who barely speaks to me or even speaks at all. Clothed in fine silken wear, or what looks like silk. She has no face as far as Iv seen because she wears a mask of some sort. Its very archaic in design resembling a 14th century black forest scribes mask. The off thing about the mask is that it covers the eyes completely down to the bottom of the nose and closes all the way around the back. No hair, the mask tightly around her whole head. Leaving just her upper lip and lower portion of her jaw and mouth. Iv noticed in the last three years the dreams come with seasons.
And at the end of April 9 however the worst event happens. She sacrifices me in a circle of stones and a large vine erupts from my chest. The worst of all this is that I feel this happen every year and I know not what it means. She speaks a phrase before my site fails but I recognize it as Greek.
I don't know what anyone will think of this but it is all I can say of the matter. I still have no Idea what it means because frankly chasing the information makes me severely uneasy.

I do know only a few words that are spoken but not the translations and there are too many variations of them over the years.

Plini, Guico, Gius, and I'm still not sure if that is how they are pronounced.
I'm sorry if this is off the subject but I just could not leave nothing here. Iv only shared this information a few times and never had and decent reactions.

I was going to address this too. I've dealt very directly with Freyja in the past.

So it's time to resurrect this thread.

I've had requests and commands from the Gods before. Notably, Freyja wanted a necklace to represent Brisingamen on my altar. I've both made and re-made it, upgrading materials when they become available. Sheseems pretty happy with it at the moment.

Now my truly direct, face-to-face (as it were) interactions with the Gods are actually fairly few and far between and generally when there's something very important for me to know. Generally things are more intuition and feelings though. Freyja's necklace, for example, was more a pressure inside my head and lots of little things going wrong until I figured out what was being asked of me and followed through on it. It came through in a manner that I could interpret as words but it wasn't really that direct. However, I had a fairly...interesting and direct experience this weekend.

The open circle that I work with does a lot of possession work - largely because it happens to the two who run it whether they like it or not,and doing it on purpose in ritual at least puts some controls on things. This last Saturday they had their simple family friendly Lammas followed by general socializing and hanging out. Late that night though, when it was only the folks that they really trust to deal with it, things started up with some possession stuff. It got pretty crazy and though I wasn't possessed, I did things I've never done in ritual before. I got to meet a few Gods that I've never dealt with directly before too. Anyway, I spent most of the time wrangling the possessed and the post possessed. I'm useful to have at these things because I don't go under and I usually don't get noticed much by the Gods that show up most often. However, I got noticed this night. Dionysus kept calling me "War Child" and insulting the mead I was drinking.

The big moment for me though was when Odin showed up. He seemed to be there specifically to talk to me because he left when he was done. Now I've never had such intense contact with the Old Man before. We've had amiable and beneficial dealings but my strongest interaction were always with My Lady Freyja. It was unexpected and a little unnerving. Anyway, I was essentially told to take my practice and my life to the next step, with a strong implication that I should be teaching/leading others in this as well.

I don't wanna!!! My life's in a pretty comfortable place right now and I'm quite happy being a quite little solitary who occasionally goes to other folks rituals. I run the open circle Yule but that's really it. But damnit it's out there now and I can't just plug my ears and say no. He was very insistent and the last time I had an experience this strong it was when Freyja was Calling me. Just like that experience, I'm not entirely sure what to do but the whole landscape feel different. I've been told what's expected and I'm not sure how to go about it or if I'm ready to do so.

I think I need to go scan the swearing thread for a bit and let off some steam.

Odin is pretty scary. Like He's amazing and I love Him but He's pretty intense.

The thing is, I don't find him strict. Odin can be pretty loose with the rules. But he does have very high expectations and he's very intense. I'm still not entirely sure what he wants from me and I'm not sure if I can ask for clarification or if figuring it out is part of the point. He values cleverness very highly after all.
