Rumor has it that Vertigo Entertainment is planning on making an American live-action Death Note movie! starring Zac Effron as Light Yagami... stressed
As Mello, I firmly detest this! Not only do I lose to Light Yagami, but I'd have to lose to Disney's pretty-boy too! This is not an option!
As an actress, I oppose this! Zac Effron may be a perfect little golden boy like Light to Hollywood, but he would not be able to pull off the entire Kira persona!
please state your opinion and say who you believe shoul have the role! Also, for Pete's sake, don't reccomend any actors from Twilight! That would be a crime against the memories of all Death Note characters who died during this case!

I also find this as an offense. To think that a pop singing, dancing, disney actor would play the worlds most intelligent (not to mention fictional) killer. Why they would even consider it is beyond me. Furthermore, if this is the type of person they pick for an evil killer, I can't even begin to imagine the type of person they would pick for L, the worlds greatest detective... With the choice of Kira, and the community's behavior as of late, I wouldn't be surprised if it were a black male, or a female. Not that I am sexist, racist, or anything of the sort, but surely you see my point. In fact, I detest the idea of an American adaption entirely. The Japanese added subtitles for a reason. I say Americans need to just learn to use them. Good cast: Bad cast:

I'm not sure who would be good for Light's role, but it is certainly NOT Zach Efron! As for whom I think should be cast for L... Why not me? Just kidding razz I really think that L should be Elijah Wood. Cute, funny, smart, a smooth and clear voice, childish-like features. He's perfect! Cast him! biggrin

Light would break into song about killing people with a notebook. The task force would tell Light to shut up. L would capture the song on the security cameras and use it as a confession. Light would go to death row.

If they cast Zac Efron as Light Yagami, Im gonna cry. Okay, Light and Zac look a lot alike... But Zac does not have the same personality as Light. And knowing Zac he'd sing about how "Shinigami like apples" and how he has a killer note book, in his head. Who would want to watch it really? The japanese version was really good, had english sub-titles and everything... And they picked really good people. Hopefully they decide not to make this new one.
