Press here for School bell soundIt was a brisk Autumn day, almost lunch time. The leaves had already started to die and fall from the trees. High school students quickly hurried into the school, the boys wearing typical white shirts and black pants and the girls wearing the traditional winter sailor uniforms, it didn't take long until the school yard was empty but sounds of school life could still be heard everywhere. This story takes place is an ordinary town in what could be any town or city in Japan, however this isn't any ordinary town - it's special or at least, somewhat special...
Chapter One
Nanako Sensei's Request
Mmmmm....Zzzzz...YaY! I just.zzz..found a rare item....Donk, What was that?...Smack...Oww! Konata awoke abruptly and met Nanako Sensei's scolding gaze, Oh Hi Nana..donk! Oww! Konata yelled and suddenly realized she was in class and met the gazes and indeed laughs of the other pupils of her class at Ryōō High. Konata, you were up late again playing games again scolded Miss Nanako and which konata meekly replied "ye..yeah but it was great I found all so..." Donk! As Nanako Sensei lightly smacked her head again..."Not know Konata, this is homeroom and you're here to learn, GOT IT! Nanako yelled prompting the rest of pupils chuckles into a resounding silence.
Miss Nanako walked back to the front of the class and started writing mathmatic questions on the board, can anyone answer this question? Anyone?? As usual, the only hand raised was Miyuki's..."Sheesh", "What a bunch of dummies" muttered Nanako under her breath. "Can anyone other than Miyuki answer this equation? - how about you Hiiragi? Nanako asked her....no reply...."Tsukasa!! I asked you a question" as Nanako glared in her direction. Tsukasa suddenly snapped out of her dreamdream and quickly realized she was the center of attention, "Well, You see...I err.." Tsukasa smiled meekly "I don't know Sensei" she replied quietly...."End of Period Bell" "You got lucky Hiiragi...this time" Nanako warned. "I'll do my best Sensei!" Tsukasa gently replied and she gathered her bag and headed towards the classroom door along with the other students. "Konata!! Not so fast, I need to speak with you" shouted Miss Nanako above all the general noise and chaos.
Tsukasa met up with Miyuki and headed towards the door where Kagami was waiting for them, Hi Guys! "She said calmy" and the trio headed for the lunch hall. The hall was your typicial dinner room, tables and chairs everywhere, and lunch ladies serving food. "Oh that's a neat looking Bento box you have Miyuki" Tsukasa spoke as the trio sat down to eat lunch. "Thank you" she replied and smiled. "Thank you for the food" the trio said in unison and they started eating lunch, "I wonder where Konata is?" asked Kagami "She is usually the first one here!" she casually joked but Tsukasa and Miyuki could both tell she was slightly worried but was quickly corrected "Nanako Sensei wanted to talk with her after class so I'm sure everything is fine...oh there she is" Miyuki replied and immediately looked worried as Konata's expression was that the world was about to end! "What's wrong Konata-Chan? asked Tsukasa in her usual quiet voice.
Konata slumped down on her chair and sighed heavily "why me.." she spoke quietly and met the worried gaze of her three friends. "Now what have you done Konata!?" Kagami answered back in her usual Tsundere tone. "Noth..nothing..that's the problem" replied Konata, "The problem is my grades, Nanako Sensei said that if I don't improve my grades by the end of this semester, I'm going to be held back" Konata announced almost trying hard not to cry but quickly received a scolding reply from Kagami "Well, that's what you get for playing online games and not studying" "Now, now you two" Miyuki butted in "Try your best Konata" she enthuased her friend "You'll do fine, you always do" she continued hoping to inspire her friend "Yeah! Yeah!! You're right" Konata perked up and stood on her chair "This is no problem! Hahah! For I am the great Konata Izumi, slayer of mathmatics and champion of Justice!!..." Kagami's eyes rolled "yeah yeah..whatever"
