Van was lounging out int the sun trying to catch some Rays, lately he'd settled down on his whole sports obsession thing, he still loved sports just as much as he loved his family but he was more open to learnign about other things, He had been given an MP3 player Kota had stolen and he had one bud in his ear,His foot was bobbing along to the beat and he was daydreaming.

---

Khloe reached up to tug on her dark-brown braids, only to remember for the umpteenth time that Venus had cut them off. She touched the ends of her hair, styled in a brown-and-bleached-blond layered style that framed her face and made her look several years older than she was -- even if her flat chest said otherwise. Hands in the pockets of her tight black jeans -- something else Venus had tried to grace her with was style -- she pranced around the park like she owned the place, although she had little confidence. Especially around boys...

---

Van had figured he'd spent enough time day dreaming and he needed to get up and go about his buissness, He jumped up off the ground and spun around being the big dork that he was. He stopped almost running over the female, he looked like a deer caught in the head lights, his mouth was hanging open and his aqua colored eyes stared at her looking scared as possible. He was frozen waiting for the other to say something because he looked like an idiot right about now.

---

Khloe gave a startled yelp as the bigger boy nearly ran headlong into her -- heck, she hadn't even SEEN him. Her blue eyes widened and then her brows furrowed, arms reaching around to hug herself. "Well that was dumb..." She spoke softly, puffing up to try and show she wasn't afraid of him although she was terrified and wanted to shrink away at their near-touch. She held her breath, counted to eight, and let it out again. "Who're you, anyway?"

---

Van let out a small laugh, So she thought he was an idiot, she was pretty much right,he was the worlds biggest dork. " Yeah... I do dumb stuff all the time sorry." He stood up right and straightened his football jersey and his hoodie running his fingers threw his white hair, " I'm Van... Like the car." He held his hand out to her, " sorry if I scared you..." He appologized blushing a bit.

---

Khloe watched him, nibbling on a lip, ears pulled back. Her thick tail flicked back and forth and she shrugged a little. "It's fine." Van. What an odd name... She stared at the scar on his neck, very pale, then startled as he held out a hand. She skittered back two steps and stared at him as if he were diseased. "Nothanks..." She tucked her fingers under her armpits, where they were safe. "I'm Khloe."

--

Van tilted his head at the female as he watched her actinons, his white ears folding to his head only the striped being seen against his hair, " Hello Khloe... but whats with the whole hand thing?" He asked pulling his hand back and tucking it into his hoodie pockets.

---

Khloe wrinkled her nose at him. Nosy boy! "I don't like germs, okay? And you're obviously a sports fan. Football equals dirt. Dirt equals germs..." She huffed a little and looked away, though she quickly peered at him again. "What's it to you anyways? Does it matter?"

---

Van shook his head and shrugged, " Theres this other guy who doesn't like germs, and all I have to say about the whole dirt thing, is God made dirt, Dirt don't hurt." He shrugged again and looked up at the female, " I'm just nosey i guess... I really haven't talked to very many people around here and I guess I pry when I meet someone new." He was looking at the ground now, His blue eyes focused on his shoes, his toe digging a little hole in teh dirt. Now he felt bad, He'sobviously upset the female and all he wanted was to make a new friend.

---

She looked at him, suddenly curious. "You know someone else who doesn't like germs?" At his next words, she stuck her tongue out a little. "Dirt does too hurt. It's grimy and gritty and gets in your hair and EUGH!" She shuddered and shrugged, placing both hands on her hips, like she'd been shown as a new question formed in her mind. "Do...you wanna go for a walk?"

---

The same dumb founded look crossed Van's face again, This girl wanted to take a walk with him. He hadn't ever had an offer like this, he wanted nothign more than to get to know the girl again, but then in the back of his mind he knew he would screw it all up. " yeah." he muttered trying to regain his composure, " But I mean are you sure, I'm a big germy mess." He laughed trying to make the female laugh. He wanted to break the ice a bit more he could still feel the tension between them.

---

Khloe's ears flattened against her head for a moment, knowing -- just KNOWING -- he'd say no. And when he didn't, it surprised her. Here she was, Miss Antisocial, and he said yes... Her heart flipped in her chest and she scoffed it off. "Keep on your side of the sidewalk and we'll be fine, buddy," she said, but with the smallest of grins. Ohgod what now? She began to walk, head down, tail flicking around one leg. "So...what do you do?"

---

Van walked taking a few large steps to catch up with the girl. " I play sports... and talk about them and then people hate me." He said shrugging. His eyes were fixed on his feet. " I promised some lady that I'd help her out and be her son's body guard and she helped me, so I do that too... but I don't like him and he doesn't like me so I just walk around looking like a big wall.... but its not hard for me to look like that." He joked laughign lightly. Here he went again babbling on like an idiot, he mentally smacked himself and bit his lip turning his eyes up to the girl breifly.

---

Khloe watched him as they walked, blue eyes uncertain. Sports... She had to keep from chuckling -- talk about the worst germs: dirt and sweat and sometimes blood. She shivered and shrugged it off quickly, keeping up with his long strides with her small ones. "Body...guard? Why? What do you protect him from?" She sounded almost wry, as if she didn't believe his story.

---

The maine coon mix laughed, " Well, He's Sol... really thats all i can expalin. You'll know who he is from the time you meet him. He needs someone to make sure everyone doesnt try to kill him, He is a jerk and he's sexest." He nodded and shrugged, he wouldn't believe his story if he didn't know Sol. " I hope you never have to meet him, He's probably try and grab you or something." He let his eyes trail over the female, it was obvious that puberty hadn't hit her yet, so he wouldn't have to worry too much about having to kill Sol, He wouldn't try and feel her up, she wasn't up to his standards yet.

---

Sol... Sol the name was so familiar, on the tip of her tongue. "He...is Venus's son?" Her eyes met his fleetingly but boldly, hands stuffed back into the confines of her pockets. She paused at his words and bit back a bitter laugh. "No offense, but if you couldn't tell..." Motioned to her flat chest. "Nothing to grab. Sorry." She huffed and kept walking, eyes locked ahead of her.

----

Van laughed, " Yeah... well she's kinda of Venus' son. Therey's a long story behind it but he was stolen by some humans and he blames Venus for it so he was taken in by Venus' enemy of sorts Roxy and now he call's Roxy mom just to get back at Venus, but I don't think it works." He explained and he nodded, " Sol is picky but if he knew you were talking to me, He'd try it just to piss me off, he liked to push me as far as I can go..." He sighed and looked ahead and then back down. " he's vindictive like that..."

---

Khloe listened to him talk, listened to his story. Venus's children were pretty much grown up, that much she knew. Two of them had mates. She often spoke of Sol and his uniqueness and his "other mother" but Khloe had never prodded. It seemed a still-sore subject. Obviously it was. "I know Venus. She's...teaching me how to be pretty." She stole a glance at Van.

----

Van laughed, it was from somewhere deep in his gut, " You don't need to be taught to be pretty, and I don't need to be taught to be strong." He told her shaking his head, It was then a blush caught his cheeks and he realized what he said. " All I'm saying is something come natural to some people." He was hoping that would cover it up, he wasn't ever sure how to compliment women. He wasn't really trying to hit on her but he was trying to make her feel better about herself.

---

Khloe paused, looking up at him and stopping mid-stride. Her tail flared up and she stared at him. "...you think I'm pretty?" She forced a snort, shrugging it off although it made her heart pound awkwardly. She was not pretty. Not like Venus. Not like Gwin... "Even with no boobs?"

---

The male stopped too a few strides in front of her, " you don't need boobs to be pretty and you don't need to be tan to be sexy, you don't need to be tough to be strong," He paused hoping that he was saying this right, he was always brought up as a gentle man and Izzy and Schmee would kill him if he was ever like Sol. " You don't need to look like Miss. Venus to be pretty... Or like Miss Roxy or even like my big sister, There are so many other things that make you pretty, don't be a sterotype just be yourself." He told her, it was then that his eyes went from her's to the ground and he stuffed his hands into his pockets as deep as they would go. " I think your every pretty.... even if you wouldn't shake my hand because its big and germy."

---

As his words came from his mouth, Khloe winced as a bright red blush settled across her cheeks. With a squeak, she turned away and covered her face with her hands -- what the heck happened to miss bold, miss antisocial? BLUSHING? HER? Oh, she was mortified... Mortified wasn't a good word. Venus had never told her how to deal with compliments... "Uh...thanks..." she said, trying to regain her composure, but heck, this was the first boy to ever take notice of her. "UhIgottago... Maybe I'll...see you around?"

---

Van nodded even if the girls back was facking him and his eyes were fixed on the ground, " if you ever come looking i'm almost always at the park... Sol likes to tan here... If you ever run into a guy with out a shirt on, please head my word and run the other way." He mumbled to her nibbling on his lip. It was obvious to him that he'd done something wrong by saying those things to her. She was going to leave and never see him again, this was another friendship he could toss in the trash.
