You’re walking along, minding your own business, and WHAM!
The COOLEST NAME YOU’VE EVER HEARD falls out of the sky!
Or you stumble across it while reading something. Or watching movie credits. Or maybe you’re going through your sister’s yearbook. Or it just materialized in your brain out of nowhere!
You think…..”Wow, that would be a REALLY cool character name @_@”
And immediately begin drawing a person to fit the name in your head.
And then…she’s a green-skinned, kung-fu fighting space princess who likes opera music and Mexican food.
Only problem is… all the roleplays in your guild are set in London in 1850. Or about unremarkable high school kids and their romances. Or about Twilight. Or about some epic war amongst the Gods. Or….Well, your galactic babe simply doesn’t fit anywhere.
Possibly you’re involved in too many roleplays already!
Or maybe….maybe she’s PERFECT! But you still don’t know much about her and need help sketching out more basics of her personality. What was her childhood like? Is she flirtatious? Timid? Fearless? Psychotic?
Well, that’s where the Character Vault comes in.
Essentially, it’s a place to fill out character applications without the commitment of actually joining any roleplays. It’s a place to store your other/new/unused characters for the future, when the perfect story comes along. It’s a hatchery, or a note on the fridge, or a bin in the attic for your characters to come alive, and kept in a safe place.
So, just have fun. There really aren’t any rules. Feel free to change/alter/delete/expand on any of the questions.
In fact, YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO USE THE PROFILE I PROVIDE.
It can be from an old roleplay, or maybe something you make up yourself! Mine is mostly for brand new characters who may be incomplete.

Character Creating Assistance! Here are some helpful links that I use ALL THE TIME when making/naming characters!
1. Baby Names This site is awesome! It has a billion names from all over the world that you can go through, sorted alphabetically. You can look at a name by country of origin, gender, etc.
2. Chaotic Shiny I looooooove this site eek I'm pretty sure I actually found it on Ersatz Rose's profile eons ago, and fell in love. Did I mention I love this site? Cause I do. It has name generators, not only for characters, but for cities, pantheons, places...pretty much everything. I love it. I'm pretty sure this is how I came up with all the town names in Zodiac, actually XD
3. Female Character Creator This is great if you need help envisioning a character, especially if you can't quite find a picture to go with them. Downsides: you can't change the skin color, so if your character has tan, brown, or purple skin, this one kinda fails. Also, it's only bust up, and only does females. It's still a lot of fun though.
4. Anime Character Creator Not quite as detailed as the female one, this one does full body characters (both male and female!) and you can change the skin color 3nodding I use them both a lot.

Other Abilities: Lucky has always been extremely…well, lucky. He always wins any contest he enters, and gambles occasionally. He bets on card games, lottery tickets, and animal races. And wins. However, his religious beliefs keep him from abusing his power. He only ever uses it when he NEEDS money, or if one of his friends or family is in financial trouble.
Pets: None, but he loves most animals and is reluctant to fight monsters.

Lucky was the only child born to his young single mother. He never knew his father, but generally had a happy childhood in Hartshire. His mother encouraged his learning, and read to him every day. At age ten, Lucky was attending the Hartshire Science Academy with people who were sometimes twice his age. His mother eventually quit her job as a waitress due to Lucky’s….skills at obtaining money. They were careful to keep it under wraps.
[Background Story] Adolescence:
At 14, Lucky accepted an internship at a laboratory in Mirr. He built tons of new things, and developed new tools and machines. He was soon promoted to head of operations and given his own department of development. He now lives in an apartment downtown near the lab, and receives a pretty nice paycheck. He just worries that he’s not receiving as much human interaction as he should, and doesn’t want to end up a lonely old man whose only friend is his mom. SO, he’s decided to try to get out more.

[Background Story] Childhood: Ryuu grew up in the forth circle of hell. As the first born son of the Nakamura Clan, Ryuu was pressured to be the best hellion he could be; or else. Due to this, Ryuu became very tense and depressed. from ages 3 to 12, Ryuu spent most of his time in his chambers where he studied the surface world and the creatures that inhabit it such as humans. He found them fascinating and continued on with his research. When his clan's leaders found out about his uncanny interest in the human world, they were poised to destroy the young demon's freewill and mercy. They would beat him into submission, and force him to kill some of his younger siblings like they were bugs scuttling on the pavement. Needless to say, Ryuu was all but destroyed by this experience.
[Background Story] Adolescence: When Ryuu was 15, he was sent to be trained in the art of soul raiding. When a demon raids a soul, they must be on the surface world and near humans. Two of his siblings came along with him on this training camp. The three siblings plotted to escape their demonic world and start their existence over on the surface. After escaping their training master, the small family settled down in a small village on the island of Okinawa off the coast of mainland Japan.
[Background Story] Adulthood so far: When Ryuu was 1765 years old, after his family had moved to Florence, Italy, He met and fell deeply in love with fourteen year old Gabriella Giordano. On April 12, 1468, Ryuu married the twenty-six year old Gabriella in a church in Florence. Six years later, after Gabriella had become pregnant, she was slaughtered in front of Ryuu's eyes by the demon Errtu, also known as The Doom Bringer. Five hundred thirty-six years later, after Ryuu had finally let go of his grief and pain, he met the young Kat Cooper. When the two met, they were enemies, only because Kat came from a long line of demon hunters known as The Brethren of Black Rain. Three years after they had resolved their differences and began fighting against the demons engulfing their world, the two when off to Stanford University together. Ryuu and Kat are now expecting twins.

Apart from the design, the fabric itself seems to be aged, worn and tattered from use, brightly colored in some places and faded in others. Her clothes always seem to have a bit too much trim sticking to nontraditional places, as if a kleptomaniac crafted it. She wears many bracelets, bangles, anklets, necklaces, and rings to the point that she jingles when she moves. The color of the sky. No, really. They change depending on what the sky looks like. It’s pretty handy when you’re indoors and don’t feel like going outside to check if it’s dark yet. They range from summer blue to midnight black to sunset purple. That’s where my sister’s got stuck. Every female in our family changes eye colors until they’re eighteen. My mom’s are a beautiful daytime blue. I really really hope mine don’t stuck at some weird color, like the icky whitish gray that happens in winter or something.

Personality:
Outgoing, inquisitive, feisty, and talkative are a few words that are usually used to describe me. I'm allergic to yams. I try to be optimistic but I've already pretty much accepted the fact that...well, that I'm sick. I've seen its effects everywhere. It gets me down sometimes but I try to focus on other things.
I love music. I love animals. I like making glass sculptures of animals. I tend to do that instead of learning how to fight with my ability. Cornelius, my master, gets a little ticked with me for that, but oh well. I like daydreaming. My best friends are my big sister and my pet tiger. I used to be a bit of a tomboy. My old best friend Davy and I would beat each other up, and have foot races and arm wrestling competitions all the time. I'm pretty aggressive when it comes to sports, but I haven't gotten to play any for a while. I was on the volleyball team when I was in school.
Background Story:
I’ve lived in Ajian since I was born with my parents and big sister. She’s a pretty smart potion master; she can make healing potions AND poison. I have a different talent. I can bend glass. My dad discovered it one day when he came home from work; Vesper was SUPPOSED to be WATCHING me, but she was reading or something. Anyway, I was sitting in the kitchen floor and had transmuted and disfigured every piece of glassware I could get my hands on. From that moment, I was obsessed. They had to move me from my room because I kept bending the window glass into sculptures of butterflies and puppy dogs. The next year, my parents sent me to the Alchementary school down the street with the other kids where I met my best friend, Davy, a Sand Alchemist.
I had a very happy childhood until Fell Fever struck the desert. When I was ten, it took Davy. It hit me when I was thirteen. At first, I was just really really sick and couldn’t get out of bed. My sister wigged out and left home. I think she went crazy or something. She got obsessed with the kid stories about the Relics and went to go find a cure. Everyone here thinks she’s barking mad, but we didn’t say anything. Anyway, she’s been gone for about a year in Mordale, studying the Relics and searching for an impossible cure. She doesn’t know I’ve already lost my right foot. The doctor says the other one will be gone by the end of the year. But I don’t like to think about it.
I spend my days practicing my glass transmutation and playing with Lily. She’s kinda my bodyguard. I’ve set up an apprenticeship with the only other local glass-bender. Well, the only one close enough to get to by wheelchair. He’s about 85, coughs a lot, and is always talking about how he doesn’t have much time left. I think they set me up with him for a reason. He’s a good, patient man though. I’m surprised he even took me in after he found out I was infected. Most people would consider it a lost cause.
Physical Description:
I’m scrawny and I have freckles. I’m shorter than my sister (but not by much!) but look even shorter because I’m always sitting down. I’m wheelchair bound now but it’s not so bad. I also have a chronic blushing problem, though I’m not too easily embarrassed. My favorite colors are blue and pink and I wear them a lot. I also wear a black robe and glass earrings. My staff is made of blue glass, which I’m working on learning how to bend into weapons.
I already told you about my weird eyes and blonde hair. I use a wheelchair because I'm missing my right foot and skilled prosthetician Cancers are hard to come by in the desert. Not that there'd be a point in replacing it anyway.

[Background Story] Childhood: "Sparks" was born into a family of circus folk as the oldest child. The circus traveled from place to place and planet to planet performing all sorts of shows. Each person had their place, and by the age of three, Sparks had already taken an interest in the special effects for the shows. So, his uncle taught him everything he needed to know. Sparks grew up as a happy kid, and though he didn't have proper schooling, he caught on quick.
[Background Story] Adolescence: The male coninued with his circus routine and such and had gained several new family members. The twins were girls, and the youngest was his brother. Nothing particularly changed...the circus family was a happy one and he was a happy teen. The only thing he wished to do was go to school...or at least learn more. At thirteen he discovered his beliefs after his mother suffered a near death experience. At that point, he began to try and teach himself how to read. Though his mathmatical skills were well off...his english....suffered. At seventeen things began to go down hill for the circus. People became uninterested and income wasn't good. In order to save his family from poverty...he found a job that would accept him. He became...a sky pirate.
[Background Story] Adulthood so far: Sparks brought his skills with him while on the ship as well as a pocket bible. He's been aboard up until now and life is good. He rarely speaks to his family, but does send messages and money. All in all...it's pretty good.
