Caissa had sunken her little baby teeth into the wooden window of the treehouse that she currently occupied. Rather than leaving marks, it was just warming the sill a little bit.
Her blue-green eyes darted back and forth as she watched the little woods floor. Animals ran by, unconcerned (or unaware) with her.
The little solar-flare girl had wandered out back of her adoptive mother's house, quickly loosing her way and eventually stumbling across a house up a TREE. Which obviously needed exploring. Obviously. She had climbed up, with some difficulty (between her non-solid legs and her too short to reach the next rung arms).
She had been staring out the window for well over an hour. There was a very simple reason for this.
Caissa wasn't exactly sure how to get down. And once she did...she wasn't entirely sure how to get home.

Switch was...out doing something or other. Xbalanque wasn't entirely sure why he was left the important task of Babysitting, he just knew that he couldn't refute his Guardian's wishes. He'd put her through enough heartache as it was. After lounging around the house, Kay took Tek out for a walk in the woods for fun...and promptly got distracted by a group of pretty joggers.
Tek, in the meantime, took this as an opportunity to run away. Well, crawl away. He reasoned that while his stupid older brother had some pretty girls to stare at, he had more than enough time to get this weak body of his to flee.
His mission became a success, and the winged Baby crawled out of sight and deeper into the woods. Eventually he came across what looked like a tree house, and he was at just the right angle to see something - or maybe someone - in the window.
Narrowed red eyes stared up at the window, but the youngster himself just sat back on his butt, his furry ears twitching. If someone was there, they'd call out, right? Then he could decide if he should, you know, investigate or something.

The little girl lifted herself up in the window, loosing control of her legs as they floated above her head, instead of just lifting up off the floor. Now she was looking down at the boy standing below her, doing an almost handstand on the windowsill.
He looked a bit strange, from what she could see, with wings and a tail. She had met some strange looking kids (and her mother had other adopted strange looking kids) so it wasn't saying much to say he looked funny. Caissa thought he looked kind of interesting.
Her legs had continued to float above her and she grabbed at the sill to keep from floating upwards. Concentrating on her feet, she tried to make them solid, as she could occasionally. She succeed, but had already thrown herself off-balance.
Caissa fell out the window and started to float (because it couldn't be called "falling" at the rate she was going) towards the ground.
Regardless of how fast she was going, if she had been able to, she would have been yelling. The look of terror would have to suffice.

Tek's ears flattened against his head when the person in the window started to float, a low growl emitting from his snarling lips. A ghost? Ghosts were stupid, but you were also stupid to not believe in them, and this girl had to be a ghost! There was no other explanation for it. None.
The look of terror as she floated down did catch his attention though, his growl just barely softening. Ghosts...shouldn't be that colourful, should they? So then, this was a real girl? More or less? Narrowing his eyes in annoyance, the little monster crawled forward, going closer to her like he was going to TRY and catch her, but to be honest, she was still barely out of his reach. She wasn't falling fast, she'd be fine. Besides, it was her fault for jumping out the window, not his.
Why save her a**?

As she fell, Caissa managed to righten herself, so that her feet were pointed downwards. Looking below, she saw the other one, a boy it looked like, coming closer and closer. Was he going to catch her? Hmphf. Chivalry.
Soon, though, she realized he was most definitely NOT trying to help. What? The indignation!
She narrowed her eyes and concentrated on making her single foot solid. As she reached him, she let her solid foot touch against his head, pushing down on it and using it as a stepping stone down to the ground.
When she landed, Caissa crossed her arms, looking the other one up and down. What sort of kid was he, not helping someone in need (Nevermind she didn't want his help to begin with! She was her own person!)?

Tek let out a surprised squawk-like noise when she stepped on his head, aside from the one foot she felt pretty light, but it was still enough to make him lose his balance and topple forward, chin hitting the forest floor. Once she was off of him he sat up and shook his head, his little halo righting itself.
That little b***h! That ********! How dare she?! Unable to actually talk just yet, Tek let his displeasure be known in a much different way; by growling. His lips curled back to reveal his sharp fangs, something he had despite his baby form, and his wolf ears flattened back against his head. The stream of curses continued in his head, calling her every name in the book that he couldn't yet vocalize. Damn this infant form!
Soon enough, just growling wasn't doing it. Managing to clench his right hand into a lame claw, he swiped at her mid section.

Caissa let out, or rather, would have let out, a cry of laughter as his claw passed right through her gas and light body. So she had irritated him, huh? Well, that was cool! Maybe he should have been more polite, then.
She floated close to him, getting as far into his space as she could, almost touching her nonexistent nose to his. He was a strange looking creature, not like any other of her family members. Hm.
Ooooh, he seemed maaaad. She placed her hands over her stomach and mimed laughing (as she still couldn't make any sounds). She floated back over to the rope ladder to the tree and stuck her tongue out at him.
She bet he was too chicken to follow her back up (all thoughts of not being able to get out of the tree and getting home seem to have vanished)!

Tek nearly went cross eyed while trying to stare at the stupid ball of...something. Gas, maybe. Eventually he gave up and tried to lean away from her; that failed of course, and then he got an eyefull of that stupid gesture of hers. What was she doing? Was she hungry? Laughing? Needed the bathroom? Whatever it was, it wasn't his problem, and he didn't give a s**t. Ears flattening once more, he started to growl loudly again, baring his little fangs.
He considered leaving then, just to turn around and crawl back the way he came, maybe to find his idiot brother...but there was a lesson to be learned here, well, it was a lesson for HER to learn, and he'd be damned if she didn't. Hissing at her, he started to climb the rope ladder as best as his little body could, clinging to it with his claws.
It was a slow go, but he eventually got inside the tree house; and he looked around, trying to spot that little annopying, gassy b***h.
