"Bà bà, bù yào zǒu zhè me màn! Wǒ men huì|kuài chí dào!" Melody grumbled out in her father's native tongue as they hurried through the park. She had gotten in touch with Azzo a couple of days ago to suggest lunch together so he could meet her father in person and they were running late.

And of course her father was taking his sweet time one his way to the meeting spot, a smile on his face and his hands in his pockets. At the use of his native tongue, something he and his wife had decided would be best teaching her a long side Vietnamese and English, he chuckled and shook his head. "Fàngsōng, Xuán lǜ." Was the soft chiding of his daughter's impatience to get there, a smile on his face.

"Cǐ wài, shí wù shì bù huì qù rèn hé de fāng."

She gave him a look and puffed her cheeks, a rather childish action that only further prompted a laugh from her father, and fixed her hold on the picnic basket before coming into view of Azzo and his puppy. Not that she was paying attention to such a thing, her mind too focused on being annoyed with her dad.

As the puppy bound it's way over to her, Melody let out a small squee of immediately won over at the cuteness of Azzo's puppy. So small and cute and just so, so... Squee!

Alexander Klein could only laugh at his daughter's reaction, taking the basket from her so she could move over to lavish the wriggling pup with attention. "Hello Azzo, it's a pleasure to finally meet you."

If Azzo could find the time to notice the man who had accompanied the blonde, because little squirmy puppies were bad for attention spans, he'd likely find that Melody's dad was probably not what he expected. A man of definite Asian decent, he was tall for his lineage and looked rather young for a man with a sixteen year old daughter. And with sharing Melody's skin and eye color, it was easy to see where she got her looks from. Though the similarities of coloration ended there, as the tall man had long, shaggy black hair that he had pulled back at the nape of his neck.

"And please, I'd prefer if you called me something other then "Sir" or "Mr. Klein" if you would."

Melody didn't seem to actually mind the puppy trying to jump up on her, though it seemed Azzo did so she told the little one "no" and then bopped him gently on the nose. Then, with a smile, she kneeled down closer to the pup's eye level and began to scratch behind his ears. Such a little cutie he was!

Mr. Klein, on the other hand, looked thoughtful and put a finger to his chin. Hmm, good question. "Just about anything, I suppose. Alex, Mr. Alex if you need to have formalities and such, or Jianyu if you know too many Alex's." Because Alexander was too common a name and sometimes he had wished his adoptive family hadn't tried to give him a more normal name. "Though I do reply to pop, pops, old man and dad."

Melody seemed oblivious to Azzo's glare towards his puppy, happily showering the little thing with love an attention. Both men seemed currently out of her mind, something her father didn't fail to notice. She'd always liked animals, he couldn't remember why they never got her one.

"Jianyu," he corrected with a smile, not surprised to hear him mangle it. "It's the name I was born with, but my adopted family wanted to give me a more... normal name if you will." Or perhaps they just wanted to give him something others could pronounce, he mused after a moment's thought.

Alex gave a nod and a smile, then moved to sit the basket down and pull from it a blanket. Which he immediately began to lay out so they could sit on it and not get dirty. "Take your time, Azzo, don't rush it."

With her dad setting out the blanket, Melody scooped up the squirming mass of dog and moved to join the men. "Hey papa, maybe you can teach Azzo some Chinese? Not now, of course, and only if he wants. But if he can pick up even a few words he should be able to pronounce your name."

Alex smiled and ruffled his daughter's hair. "We'll see, Melody. But for now let us enjoy this meal I fixed, hm?"

Melody stood there, holding the dog against her with a smile on her face. It was a cute image, and Alex cursed the fact he didn't have his camera with him. When Azzo asked her a question, he noted the light in her eyes and chuckled.

"That would probably be best. Do you think I should tie his leash around the tree?"

While the kids were busy, Melody's father began unpack the food. Which seemed to be nothing more then sandwiches, chips, drinks and a couple of bento boxes.

"If you have a long enough leash, it should be fine," Jianyu interrupted as he watched the two of them. "Do you know how to go about hooking the leash around the tree so you can still attach it to his collar?"

He wasn't trying to make Azzo feel stupid, to be quite honest. He was merely curious, inquiring so he'd know if the boy needed help.
