The balcony of the museum was something of a different atmosphere than the museum itself. Being part of the cafe attached to the building, it wasn't quite under the spell of quiet that the place usually had over people. It was a place where food could actually be eaten, where the contents of the building could be discussed at length, or where the kids could go when they got bored and hungry, as kids tend to do.

Around this time of day, though, it wasn't very crowded. A few people were scattered amongst the tables and benches, though that was about it. In the corner by the bushes there were two people enjoying their lunches while going over a book.

Well. One of them was more person-y than the other. The man who was pointing things out in the book between bites of his sandwich seemed to tower over the young (purple, glowy, horse-ish) girl he was sitting next to. Hooves clacked against the legs of the chair as she swung her feet, gaze idly following his finger as it pointed out different things in the images.

She (still) wasn't quite sure what he was talking about sometimes, but after having many lunch breaks at the museum, and after having been read several of the books, she was starting to understand and remember some of the names, at least.

Shi had lost her mother in the museum, not on purpose mind you as some kids did, and the green eyed young girl was searching for her. There was nothing concerned or frantic about the movements of the the bronze skinned girl though. Shi was certain she would find her mother, or it'd happen the other way around eventually and there was no need to worry. Plus it was a little more fun to explore and look at things without all the talking, her mother talked a lot! Sometimes Shi just wanted to see things and think about them quietly.

The girl stepped out onto the cafe balcony with a slight bounced on her pointed legs causing (or perhaps it was the light breeze that caused it) the bells on her hair ties and around her neck to give off little jingles. A quick look around revealed that her mother wasn't out here either but there was a very interesting looking purple skinned girl that required closer inspection.

Her attention in her guardian's almost-lecture on the image in front of them was beginning to wane. She was a kid, it was to be expected. Her attention turned to the plants they were sitting next to, examining the leaves and the flowers and that little bug crawling around...

But her attention in that proved to be short lived as well. The sound of jingling caught her ear, and she turned in her seat to see what was making the noise. Well! Wasn't that interesting! The fingers of one hand slowly waggled in a wave at the bronze-skinned girl, the other hand still clutching at the half eaten sandwich.

Shi took the wave as an invitation to come closer and thoughts of finding her mother were promptly pushed back in her mind. She waved back and smiled and as she walked closer to the other girl. " Hi, I'm Shi." Her voice was soft, not tentative or shy but calm and relaxed. The way her tail swayed lazily behind her confirmed that while meeting someone knew had interested the girl it hadn't set her into a much more alert state as of yet.

Shi wondered how the other girl kept all those plants on herself without them falling off but.. it might be rude to ask.

Chew, chew, chew. How come everything always happened at awkward moments when you were eating? Was rather strange. The last bit of the sandwich was swallowed after Shi introduced herself. "I'm Samil," she offered with a small mile of her own. She seemed rather calm as well, though the man sitting next to her had stopped reading and was staring at Shi curiously.

Her hair was interesting. Very interesting. Perhaps it was because of her dark coloring, but brightly colored people always seemed to catch her eye.

Although...she was alone. That generally (in her experience here) tended to lead to tears and crying and sometimes scolding for the one that ended wandering off by themselves. "Are you lost?" she asked, tilting her head to the side.

Shi shook her head "No, my mom is." the foo dog and Nymph child had a good sense of direction and she remembered exactly where she'd already been so she wasn't lost. It was her mom whom she'd misplaced after going to the bathroom that was lost, Shi was just trying to find her even if she wasn't trying as hard as she could be.

"Why do you eat out here?" she asked curiously. Most of the exhibits were behind glass or ropes or mounted up on walls, it wasn't like crumbs could fall on anything.

That was strange. Usually it was the other way around. With the kids getting lost (or losing themselves on purpose) and all. Though she supposed that they could be easily misplaced.
Sorta.
It was a kind of big place after all.

"It's nicer out here?" She asked, looking around the patio for a moment, before nodding her head as if to affirm what she had said. "Not so stuffy."

" But there's nothing to see here," Shi protested calmly. There should be plant sculptures or something at least, of this the girl was certain. There were plants but they weren't very special looking at least as far as Shi could tell. Then again Samil herself had plants on and was sort of a bit more interesting that anything else leafy they could put out here.

Maybe fountains then and lights or magic paintings that moved, of course added stuff would then make it stuffy which the other girl didn't seem to want. Shi shrugged and just smiled , tail swaying behind her lazily still.

"Sure there is!" She said, feet swinging back and forth. "There's the plants and the sun and the..." her arms gestured widely to the general surroundings. Besides. The sun felt nice. Photosynthesis, maybe.

"...Also I've seen everything inside." she added as an afterthought. One can only see something so many times in a period of time before they got somewhat...boring.

The bronze skinned girl seemed skeptical still about there being much of interest outside here but said nothing on the matter. She did utter a small "oh' in regards to having seen everything inside. "Which stuff is best?" Disagree they might about the outside it didn't mean Shi wasn't willing to take advice from the other girl about where to wander in the museum next in search of her mother. "Does it take a long time to see everything?"

"The big stuff," Her arms were kept held out from her early gesture, trying to encompass the size of some of the artifacts, coupled with a sagely nod. "There's this big bull...thing with a face..." "Lamassu," the man sitting behind them added in quietly. "Yeah, and it's big, and kinda creepy 'cause it's dark in the room." Though that wasn't much of a problem for her, she just couldn't quite illuminate all of it, and the (relatively) dramatic shadows added to the air of mystery.

"Kind of?" she said, a bit unsure of what she was saying. "I come here a lot..."
