Background:
Type of childhood: For the most part it was nonexistent. He has been the property of 12th division since as far back as he can remember.
Most important child hood event that still effects him/her: An experiment aimed at discovering a way to stop cell deterioration. While the experiment essentially succeeded, it also stopped cell regeneration, effectively making it so his body cannot heal itself. Because of the cells inability to degrade and regenerate, Shihei does not age, but at the time was extremely vulnerable to injury. This experiment in addition to many others being performed on him resulted in the discoloration of his skin.
Why? It has caused him to stop aging, thus almost making him immortal, other than the fact that he can still be killed with conventional methods.

Zanpakuto name: Kurotadori
Zanpakuto sealed Appearance: Kurotadori is a zanpakuto unlike any other. It is completely back, black blade, black tsuba, black tsuka. The blade is fluorescent, so several different colors can be seen reflecting off of it in bright light creating quite a unique look. The tsuba has two elaborately detailed falcon's cut out of the metal work, leaving just enough material for it to be considered a tsuba. The tsuka is wrapped in black cotton with matching same (rayskin).
Shikai Appearance: Once released, Kurotadori's blade shatters into thousands of tiny, black shards of its former self. These shards spin around in an upward vortex, once reaching a given altitude, each shard forms into a falcon. The falcons are controlled by what was once the tsuka, now in the form of a small wooden pipe whistle. This pipe whistle is surprisingly loud given its size, but it is a necessity because of the distance sometimes put between Shihe and the flock.
Shikai Release Command: Soar, Kurotadori
Shikai Abilities: While the flock is dangerous regardless of the situation, they're even more frightening at night, when the only sign of them is the quiet and constant roar of their wing beats in the sky. Another looming threat is if Shihei is rendered unable to control the flock, they will fall into chaos and go out of control.
As for what the flock can do. Each falcon has razor sharp beak which it will use to attack a given enemy. If Shihei chooses, they birds can also just drive their bodies into said enemy, hitting him with countless small, but blunt attacks.
