I really need help getting him to go on the right path. Last time he broke through a wall on the right at the end of area two and I automatically failed the quest. I use a great sword by the way.

use the lagi blade for starts... lightning and dragon is this mosters weakness!... don't worry about the horn if you have under water balista shots (or you could just pick up some from the boxes by the under water balista). As I was saying, attack his mane, and do charged attacks! make sure you face the same way as him so that when you do the paddle and the seconds charge you follow him and are more likely to land your blows on his mane... if your armor set is not one that can endure his beatings, then to know his attacks is up to your judgement, but he seems to always lower his head slightly and shudder (even more slightly) before doing his head shake.
On another note, for the horn, depending if you did attack it a few times or not will take 4~6 shots from the balista I think? either way, all you require is aim and the know when and when not to shoot.

depending on how fast you can destroy the mane, lightning may not be as effective as fire. fire does more damage to the destroyed mane. as for the paddle, idk, ima longsworder... sry... biggrin

Though, I've never seen it do what it keeps doing to you but only heard of it from my friend failing the same way. The only thing you have to do is break it's mane before a certain point in Area 2 if you don't Chacha will automatically BUT only if he's alive which he never is for me but I have no worries since I use LS underwater and maybe Lance soon if I want to change up my fights against it a bit. But with my LS I tend to always break it's Mane right at the end of Area 1. But as soon as Chacha say something about hitting it right in the his chinny chin and chasing it to it's lair...you're home free to the final battle part of it. o-o

HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW OF THE PADDLE MOVE!!!!!
The wii-mote you can press minus than A or just A twice and that's the paddle!... you know the only move in the GS move set that can stun s**t!
Why is the triple A combo so good under water? because the second and third hit slightly move you forward, which is good for moving enemies!

Normally I don't care for the name of the move, There's only like 6 moves. Not to mention I'm used to the old game moves, and that haven't really ever been able to stun a large monster with that attack. So settle down Beavis.

it has it's uses though, high finch rate and it's the GS fastest move, on land if you kick than paddle it has the longest range because it moves you forward.. and like most stun moves, even if your sharpness is low, you shouldn't bounces off creatures head's with this move.

I don't remember it moving you at all. I just see it slap the enemy in the face really. I stand completely still when doing that.
