I was HR 49 at the moment I stopped playing for the night, and I'm fairly sure that in the next two or three quests, I'll be able to do the urgent. I hear a lot of scary things about Albatrion, and a lot of people ask for strategies on how to fight it.
Me? I'd rather have suggested skills than strategies. I've seen a video or two of Alatreon, and I can only guess on Wide Range being suggested. That said, I plan on using the Quropeco+ set, or a mixed set that totals to 16 slots (indecisive about the charm). My weapon will definitely be a para lance or para/sleep sword. What skills would you guys use?
btw, my friend showed me a video of a fresh Albatrion dying in about five minutes (3sleep/1para sns + barrels and barrel materials (Japan, you're crazy)). We're not really going to do that unless we're bored out of our minds. And I mean REALLY bored.
Oh, and if anyone wants to jump in for some Albatrion action this coming weekend, look for Lijarkh (PVYMHE, I think). I'll probably be running around in Greed1, searching for some high Rathian/Lagiacrus action. Or Gobul. Still not done with the stupid para spear. =_=

I dunno about skills, but I know that if you can pick up the best Para weapon that you can possibly a lance or hammer, which ever you really want. Hammers have the better damage output and the lance has the ability to defend.
I suppose if you go with the lance you can grab the full Agnaktor set and that will give you the guard +2 and Guard up which should let you defend against pretty much everything and lose very little stamina.
Other then that I say go with the para weapon because he is super super susceptible to paralysis. I mean so much so that it's almost broken, lol.
It might take a few attempts, but once you get used to him, you can probably bury him in about the same time as those crazy Japs and their 2 minute runs, lol.

I'm a minor supporter considering my weapons tend to be status-imbued rather than elemental, or because I'm usually the ONLY one who brings buff horns. Needa kill some Gigginox for more Pale Extracts, thanks to them. D: I don't hammer anymore, either, since it can't block (though Longsword is exempt). I also tend to hit more than a hammer-user, so my damage output is generally better. I suppose that wouldn't be true if Albatrion is gonna take in some paralysis/sleep effect.
I was thinking of using the Agnaktor+ set for the guard skills, yes, but Mega Dash Juice was my solution. I change from my Rathian armor only when it's really necessary. Which is almost never. I was also going to ask if the guard skills reduce block damage, but that wouldn't matter all that much if I can roll/run infinitely. I generally take the hits in the groin if I'm using the SnS, anyway. Yay overextending. XD
Mm, para is my first choice. My other strategy was to use an ice GS and bring barrels, but only if someone else can put it to sleep. That way, I can Lv3 charge Albatrion's face AND barrels, and break the horns in no time flat. After that, I suppose I can just...Lv3 charge something else. Whatever is left to break/cut. Probably the tail. Or more likely the claws, since the tail is always first to go on any of my Barioth/Gobul/etc. runs.
Although...perfect strategy for a flying Albatrion : use a Shoryuken. Godly DP, anyone? lmao

I just used the Maxed out Los+ set. My skills were: Mind's Eye. Critical Eye +2 Heat Cancel High. Speed Sharpening. Negate Stun. I used a High Sieglinde (Purple). He must've been poisoned about 4 times during the battle. Also, bring materials to make potions and lifepowders. I'd also bring 2 book of combos with you. And use your combo short-cuts.
