Agrona was wandering around in her home territory alone once again. Her new constant companion, Wiski, was currently carrying out her orders to guard their home and adjust to living in the harsh North. Her bright red fur stood out against the snow so she had no hopes of sneaking up on anything, not that there was anything out here right now to try and sneak up on. She sighed looking around once more. She was bored. And when it came to her boredom was a dangerous thing, for it made her meaner and almost blood thirsty. She really had no problems with that side of her but it did ruin things for her when she needed to be a bit sweet to swing someone over to her side. Taking a step forward she began making her way across the frozen landscape towards some trees. Maybe something interesting and not boring would be over there. Perhaps a rabbit. She could go with killing such a cute thing. She grinned at that thought and picked up her pace.

Annabelle sighed, ears pressed forward and tail wagging with excitement at the visible breath that fell from her lips before it disappeared. It was her first time in the North, and although it was colder than anywhere else she had been before, her thrill of it kept her warm enough, and she padded along the snow.
It was surprising, the snow. It lacked color and was colder than water but warmer than ice, and she kept falling into it, making progress slow. She had tried to run, or at least barrel through it, and although it was easy enough at first, it tired her out quickly and, to a stranger’s eyes, made her seem silly. Why wouldn’t she look that way? She had been running headfirst through the snow, spreading it every which way around her and making a trail when all the effort could have been saved had she simply widened her tread a bit and spread her toes, so that all her weight didn’t go only in a few select places.
But again, this was new to her. And while she had heard of helixes in the North, she was hard pressed to believe it. How could anyone live here? The snow got in the way, the land was absolutely barren, and you could see for miles ar—
At the thought, something red and conspicuous caught her eye. At first, she mistook it for the splatters of blood on snow but, after a few moments of focusing, she realized it was only a helix such as herself. Excited once more, she ran up to the red helix.

Agrona had reached the trees and was sniffing around when she heard snow crunching. It was a sound that happened up here when someone was running. She looked up and around, not seeing anyone. Her eyes narrowed as she got on guard. It wasn't until the white and pink helix was nearly upon her did Agrona see her.
Eyes growing wide in slight fear of being run over, Agrona quickly side-stepped. She was now out of the way of the charging female. "What do you think you're doing?!" She snarled, fur bristling.

Annabelle slowed, startled by the female’s response. She had heard that Northerners were often cruel, seeing as those who were too kind didn’t survive long in the harsh conditions but she hadn’t expected this. Then again, she guessed it would be reasonable. She had almost splashed the helix with snow, after all. As if anyone needed more snow on them in such freezing temperatures. It was silly of her to assume the red helix would be mean simply because of her mistake.
“I’m sorry,” she replied. She bristled her fur, not to appear more dominant, but to protect herself better against the chill that crept against her skin now that she was still. “I guess I got too excited,” she said, offering a sheepish, apologetic smile. “My name’s Annabelle. What’s yours?”

Agrona stared at the other female with a frown. Ugh. She was.... just so annoying! And way too cutesy for her liking. "Make sure it doesn't happen again." She replied coldly, "Agrona, not that you need to remember it." She was turning from Annabelle flicking her tail. It was a sign of dismissal but few would ever recognize it from her.

Annabelle blinked, surprised by Agrona’s sudden action. Not only was it dismissive, but it was degrading, as well. The two were practically equal in rank, seeing as none of them were adults, and the last time she checked, she never agreed to be the submissive one.
She huffed in disappointment. She was still new to the world, having only recently left her birth-home. Her mother’s mate had not taken kindly to her and her siblings, and her father was a coward. She had hoped that such things were limited to her family, or few and far in between, but the world didn’t seem to work that way. But she couldn’t give up now.
She padded forward, struggling through the snow. “Nice to meet you,” she said politely, trying to keep up with the red helix while attempting to figure out how she kept herself from falling in the snow.

Agrona was cringing inside as Annabelle followed after her. She stopped and looked back at the other female. Seeing her struggle so much made her smirk. "You outsiders.... can't even walk right here." She said. She turned away and once again tried to walk away.

”Well,” Annabelle started, struggling to keep her voice level. Growing up with a father that wanted her dead had given her an impulsive streak and a short temper, both of which she tried to keep in check only after she had left for home, which was why it was such a challenge for her. “I’m sure you couldn’t walk right your first day out in the snow, either.” she retorted. Not that she was trying to compare herself to a newborn.
She almost called for the other to wait up but she bit it back. The last thing she wanted to do was request something from such a rude helix. She only doubled her efforts to speed up.

Agrona halted once again. She looked back to see Annabelle still following her and gave her a disapproving glare. "I walked a lot better than you did. I watched my siblings and parents walk on the snow before I even tried." And with that she was once again moving forward.

Annabelle felt herself flush with both embarassment and anger when she realized that Agrona, as rude as she was, was right. She felt like a fool, forcing her way through the snow when she could simply walk on top of it, as Agrona did. It wasn't as if Agrona was some special helix with snow-shoes for paws, and if the red helix could do it, then so could she.
She slowed, trying to see how their gait was different. (A few times she had to rush forward again, because, evidently, Agrona wasn't going to walk around in the same place waiting for her to get it already.) The only notable difference she could see were more wide-spread limbs. The female's legs at her sides were more distanced, although only by a fraction from her own legs, and the toes were spread out, too.
She wasn't exactly sure if such a small change would do much, but it was the only thing she could find, and if wouldn't hurt to try. She had already embarassed herself, in any case. And, after a few tentative attempts, she found she no longer fell under the snow, although her steps were awkward and she swayed side to side when she tried to keep herself spread and her weight distributed evenly. But she was walking all the same, and she ran up to Agrona excitedly, her previous anger subdued. "Thanks!" she barked appreciatively.

Agrona wasn't paying attention to Annabelle but to where she was going. Swinging her head from side to side, she avoided the deeper parts of the snow. She was trying to find a landmark so she knew where she was heading.
Hearing the female thank her she paused to stare at her. "I wasn't saying that stuff to help you. So don't thank me..... in fact why don't you just leave." She began walking again spotting a big rock sticking out of the stone. She thought she recognized it.

Annabelle was starting to wonder why she was even trying. She had grown up with an aggressive helix and knew that, no matter how hard you tried, if the helix didn't want to be nice, he or she wouldn't be. You just couldn't force those things.
But despite knowing that, there was still a part of her that wished such negative feelings, and in such concentrated amounts, were limited to her mother's mate. The reason for his anger, at least, was understandable. She was naive, believing the world could change and be good with nothing more than wishful thinking and a loose grasp on justice. And this was what led her to rush up to Agrona and n** her tail in a playful fashion, hoping there would be some change.

Agrona was getting quite fed up with Annabelle. She was seriously considering running off on the other female. She would be able to do it. Annabelle would have a hard time running on the snow, while she (Agrona) wouldn't.
She was all for this plan and was getting ready to sprint ahead when her tail was bitten. She yelped, growled, and whirled around to face Annabelle. "How dare you!?" She growled crouching ready to lunge. The pink female had just declared war biting her tail, even if it was supposed to be playful. She sprang; launching herself towards Annabelle, hopefully landing on her back like she wanted.

For a moment, Annabelle seriously thought her idea would work. Then she heard the yelp and the warning growl, saw the dangerous, enraged female whirling to face her, and she flattened her ears quickly in apology. Before she could say anything, however, Agrona spoke, and she felt her own temper flaring. It was only a small n**, for Vervain's sake!
She saw the red helix spring, felt her muscles tense in response, and she snapped up, fangs bared.
Fighting, however, was something she rarely did. The words "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" held true for her siblings, and the wrath of Shadow made them more willing to come together than to wrestle with each other and practice fighting. As a result, her timing was off, and she jumped too soon, having reacted suddenly only because of her surprise. By the time the metallic snap of her jaws clicking could be heard, she was back on the ground, and she felt the painful claws of her enemy digging onto her back.

Agrona did land on Annabelle's back, barely, and was more or less hanging off the right side. She scratched and kicked the female all the while growling. Managing to scoot up some she bite the fur and some skin by the shoulders missing the neck. She knew she'd have to get off soon or risk being flipped on and hurt. So she kicked with her back legs and jumped off the pink female. Somehow Agrona was getting to do the one thing she loved to do the most, hurt others and draw blood.
