This is a really common one, but I'd say my mom because she's been through a lot of very tough crap in her life (and is still going through a lot), but she's still here and can stand on her own 2 feet.

I'd have to say Michael Jackson. I mean, sure he's had a pretty strange life and reputation. But as a child he was abused too, and he grew up to be one great influence in the world as is today. Err, as he would have been today. He has helped so many people all around the world, and he didn't let the abuse bring him down.
