I'm in the same position as you. I'm in my second year of French and, since I live in Texas, everyone speaks Spanish. I took French because I don't want to stay in Texas my whole life. I'd like to live in French Quebec or, if God really loves me, Paris.
I know it's the summer now, but don't give up on French! It's a beautiful language and knowing another language will open so many doors. Pay attention in class and do your homework. Unlike Spanish, French gets easier the more you learn!
Au Revoir!

If you have Vivox on zOMG, we can try to chat in French on there! I think speaking it as often as possible is the best way to learn. If there's something you don't understand, we can type it up, but if you really want to learn you have to keep at it. I listen the Le Mouv radio to tune myears to French-people-speed speaking.

People are right, it does get easier, especially as your mind gets better trained for learning languages.
Visiting a place where French is widely spoken would help, but I understand how it can be out of the question.

Salut!
French classes are required at my school. My classmates think it's a waste of time, but I like to learn it. I'm not in high school yet, so we didn't have the choice. I'm going to choose French as my language next year.
