Thanks to : Loveisintheair and StylishEvil for helping me edit this a bit XD
I wrote this for my Creative Writing PS class assignment; the prompt was being in the shower and then and intruder or something like that. Hope you like it.
Warning this is a creepy story so if easily scared; like me sad , you may not want to read this...or at least read alone.

Version 1:

After a stressful day, the warm (close to hot) water eased all the tension from my body. And with a relieving sigh, I reached for the shampoo bottle; and that’s when I heard a noise. A creak in the floor, the one made when someone moving around as they put all the pressure in their feet. My blood turned ice cold as my eyes widened in realization and terror. Though my mind tells me forget it, that I’m hearing things and my overactive imagination doesn’t help matters, I lower the water pressure so I am able to hear things more clearly. Not a sound, so return to cleaning my hair and then I hear a shrill creak, and it’s louder and closer. I am terrified; NO ONE should be in the house because I locked the front and back door. Plus, my parents are the only other ones with keys to the house, and they are having dinner at Sushi Momoyamas.

With my heart beating faster, I turn off the shower and quickly wrap a towel around myself. The scent of lavender from my soap still lingers in the steam filled bathroom. Then, hearing loud breathing outside the door, I realized the intruder was right outside. Realizing the bathroom door is locked as he tries to turn the handle, he steps away. I then hear some rummaging from the garage, metal hitting against metal as he looked through what sounded like my Dads toolbox. Then I hear what sounds like the sharpening of blades and realize the intruder found the axe.

Silence fills the air, until CRACK, he starts chopping at the door. The first hit was an inch away from my head as I had my back leaning against the door. Out of terror, I realized, as I tasted the cooper taste of blood, I must have bitten my tongue accidentally. The chopping of the door echoed loudly inside the house, as sharp, and rough pieces of wood flew from the bathroom door. I eased back and crouched on the ground trying to keep my cries of fear in. I now knew how Jamie Lee Curtis felt in Halloween when Michael chased her. All of a sudden the chopping ceased and I was about to cry out when I heard the sound of jingling keys as my parents came home. But, in my panicked state of mind filled with paranoia, I wasn’t sure if it was really them or the intruder trying to trick me.
“Kairi are you there?” I heard my mother ask as she tried to get into the bathroom.

Relived to see her face,I answered a “Yes” to her as I came out, quickly giving her a tight hug as I began to tell her what happened as I showed her the damage and the missing axe. She quickly told my dad and then called the police, warning them about a psycho on the loose. Even though i knew i was safe now i kept picture the maniac everywhere. The police came by the next day asking me questions on what had happened; their rough callous hands quickly taking notes. But one man who had his eyes hidden under his blue police hat really unnerved me as he passed me and went into our kitchen. After an hour all the police had gone and as I was hungry I went to the kitchen to get some food, and that’s when I found the note:
See you soon love!
-x- the intruder a.k.a. your nightmare.

It had to be one of the policemen I just knew it. No one else had been in.

Second Ending:

My mother was skeptical of me and that angered me. Over the next few days, I’ve been doing chores and fixing the bathroom door. Maybe it was a dream. A hallucination? Maybe I had finally lost it. But all was fine now. Two days later I came home from school and headed into the kitchen where I saw a note in the same style as the chopping; which the intruder was actually trying to chop an I, and I went into panic mode. With my cell phone in hand I quickly read the note:
See you soon!
–x The Intruder, your nightmare.

I quickly fled inside the bathroom, making sure I was alone, and called my mom. My body shook as I curled up upon myself in a ball. Would my mother believe me if i showed her this not or would she send me to the psycho ward? I began weeping, I felt like someone was watching me, whispering my name through the wind. And that is how my mother found me when she came home.

Terror – Filled

After a stressful day, the hot (close to burning hot) water eased all the tension from my body. And with a relieving sigh I reached for the shampoo bottle; and that’s when I heard a noise.
