Damien sits outside under one of the trees. His mind is racing with thoughts about what happened on Christmas.
As a result, his hair is loose around his face as he stares down at his journal, which is lying in his lap.
He sighs, crossing his legs at the ankle. The sun is setting around him, and he just stares at the sky. A slight smile crosses his lips as he studies the colors.

Rhiannon was heartily glad that the holidays were over. What with Sati having broken up with Silver, and her mother depressed because her father was more absent then ever she hadnt had a very happy Christmas. She had wanted to see Damien...even though she hadnt managed to buy him anything yet, not having seen anything that she thought would be just right for him... but it was family time for everyone and she didnt want to impose. But now; she couldnt stay away any longer and she tugged her jacket closed, crossed arms in front of her and walked up to his house - mansion, looking up at the stately building.
The evening is drawing in, and she can feel the dark approaching. Her sharp eyes spy her love, and her steps speed up, calling his name as she approaches;
'Damien..'

Damien looks around when he hears his name called.
When his keen eyes he spots Rhiannon, and grins over at her.
Rising to his feet, Damien just drops his journal on the grassy ground. His hand goes into his pocket, fingering the chain of Rhiannon's present, before he starts to walk over to her.
"Hello, mela," he says, leaning forward to hug her.

Rhiannon wrapped her arms around him, feeling comforted and loved once more. She nuzzled her face into his neck, then pressed her lips against his cheek, grazing his face scales with her mouth.
'I missed you,' she whispered, pulling away a little so that she could look into his eyes.
'My love,' she said softly, bringing a hand up, fingers touching his face. She wanted contact with him everytime they met, it was one of her animalistic traits, bonding and reaffirming touch and scent. She smiled at him.

Damien strokes Rhiannon's hair, and grins again. "I missed you, too," he replies.
He then tilts his head to the side and says, "Come on. I want to stay outside, there are too many people inside," that translates into I don't want you to see how emotional I get whenever I see Mum Eirnae. But, he says nothing of his other mum's return. "Would you mind if we sat under a tree or something? You can tell me how your Christmas was."

'Okay..' she nodded, eagerly agreeing. She still wasnt sure how she fit into Damien's life. He knew so many people, his family was bigger then hers and she worried what they thought about her. Rhiannon decided that not meeting them was easier then meeting them and making a complete fool out of herself. She took a seat next to his discarded book, looking at him while he joined her.
'Uhh...I'll take other difficult subjects,' she grimaced.

Damien winces. "That bad?" he says, shaking his head slightly. "Well, since we are moving on, as far as subjects go, I suppose you don't want your gift. . . ." he says, grinning a little, a mischiefous twinkle in his eye.

'It was a joyless occasion,' was all she said, scuffing the ground with her boot heel.
'You got me a gift?' Rhiannon was all smiles again, although guilt tugged at her a little.
'You didn't have to. I couldnt find anything for you. Nothing seemed good enough,' she looked at the ground, her furry ears down turned.

Damien's smile falters a little, and he puts a finger under Rhiannon's chin, hoping to coax her into looking back at him. "I don't need any gifts," he says, shaking his head a little.
"Besides, all I wanted was to see you again sometime soon. There was my gift," he nods firmly.
"Don't laugh. This is my first attempt at making jewelry. And, Mum Lenore helped me a little. . . ."
He then fishes in his pocket, and fists his hand around the bracelet, concealing it completely. He holds out the fist, and keeps his hand that way for a little longer, before he opens his fingers.
In his hand is a delicate-looking, link-chained, charm bracelet. Hanging from it are stones shaped in the various stages of the moon. The stones are enchanted to glow slightly to show which stage it is in. The stones are cut a little roughly, and there are some blemishes in the chain. But, Lenore had managed to get most of the really bad ones out.
He smiles sheepishly as he watches Rhiannon's face for her reaction.

'That's sweet of you to say but I'm still going to try and find something for you,' she blushed, feeling her cheeks heat up.
'You make jewellery?' she asked curiously, then looked at his closed fist, waiting for him to show what he was clutching so tightly to. When he finally opened his hand and the bracelet was shown, the links reflecting what little light still was in the sky above, she opened her mouth in an amazed 'o'.
'Oh Damien..' she said finally, her voice catching as tears gathered in her eyes.
'It's beautiful,' she breathed, stunned at his thoughtful gift.

Damien beams now, and blushes a little. "Well, it is one of Mum Lenore's many hobbies," he explains, taking Rhiannon's hand so he can claps the bracelet onto it. When he is done, he continues. "I just thought I would try my hand at it. . . ."

Rhiannon held her hand out patiently as he finished securing the bracelet's clasp. When he was done she held it up to her face, looking at the little charms and turning it around to see each one.
'These are the moons phases..' she stated softly.
'But why is this one glowing?' she asked, fingering the first full moon one and showing it to Damien.

Damien looks down at that charm. "Ah . . . I forgot to explain that," he smiles a little. "Well, Mum Lenore taught me how to enchant the stones to make them glow slightly at a certain time. So, the stones glow when the moon is in the phase that the stone is." He explains.

Rhiannon paled...and scrambled to her feet.
'Damien I have to go right now,' she said, her eyes flickering upwards at the darkening sky.
'It's not...it's the wrong time. I'm sorry,' she babbled, her voice sounding panicked.

"Wait," Damien stands hurriedly, stepping on his cloak in the process and almost falling over. Cursing softly, he looks back at Rhiannon.
"Stay here," he says, glancing at the stone that is glowing. The full moon. He pales ever so slightly. "Rhiannon. . . ." he pauses, feeling like he is insane for even thinking about this, and he expells a long breath, which blows the hair out of his face.
"We knew that there would be a night like this in our future," but, goddess, didn't he hope just a little that it was a little further off than this? "I . . . Rhiannon . . . s**t," he says, cursing for the first time in a way that others can hear it.
"I can't make you stay," he starts after a long pause. "But, this is something that we are going to have to handle sometime if we ever expect to have a . . ." he searches, and searches some more, trying to find the right word. Who knew saying something like this would be hard. "A future."
