I do, I played it for the past 2 years in our jazz band until trying out on saxophone this year and making it.

I would be playing it. But we just got a new jazz band director, and he changed the jazz bands to 'real jazz instruments', so I just missed the opportunity, because this is my freshman year. Still, if I ever got the chance, I'd probably take up jazz flute.

I'm not a great flute player but i'm learning so if a chart needs it for doubles i can do it.
My old highschool jazzband only let flutes in if they were good soloists.

Still, if I ever got the chance, I'd probably take up jazz flute. Our jazz band also uses only "real" jazz instruments. If you join playing another instrument they have you learn something else. In flute sectionals once this summer our director turned on an accompaniment track, told us what key it was in, and had us improve though. It was super fun! 3nodding Probably not the "jazz flute" you're talking about, though.
