It really seemed like the days were bleeding together. Get up before dawn, tends the fields (the two factions had finally decided on a place to keep Amelia), break for lunch, work until evening, cling to a few hours of private time, rinse and repeat. It was.... an uninteresting way of life and while it had never really stopped rubbing the Goldrider pair the wrong way, they'd at least learned to tune out the annoyances and get along.

The 'us vs them' mentality had sort of faded some with Amelia actually talking to a variety of the Holders now and again. It was hard to stay hostile when you worked side by side the 'invaders' and found they were different but not inhuman.

Sharath had even taken to speaking to a few of the dragons, though she made a point of ignoring the Senior Gold's presence whenever the lumbering giant came around. Amelia didn't real blame Sharath... she didn't like the Senior Queen either.

And so, it was during one of those evenings with Amelia on the ground, yearning to be with Sharath as she coasted along in the air above that she'd nearly dozed off. She'd fallen asleep in the fields with her dragon more then once... there was just something far more soothing about being near Hers then being alone in a stiff bed.

You're falling asleep again, Mine, the queen murmured as she descended and dropped neatly onto the ground, leaving a deep impression of footprints. She was nearly full grown now, large and beautiful as far as Amelia was concerned.

I'm dozing, Sharath... It's a wonderful evening. She replied idly, waving a hand as if to brush off the weak complaint.

With a huff, the gold plopped down beside her rider and nosed the woman until she was turned over. A mental chuckle greeted Amelia as she cursed softly and sat up, "What?"

Sit with me if you're going to doze, she replied with another soft huff of a laugh.

Bajenth was not yet so large that his size necessitated residence in the dragon fields, though at the rate he was growing this would soon be the case. Indeed, it might be the case yet sooner, as Sh'en's family was not particularly fond of having a dragon around while they were attempting to work. Bajenth made reasonable attempts to stay out of the way, but was resentful of the necessity and wasn't afraid to voice that necessity.

So, with evening falling and the day's work done, they had walked together to the fields, if only for the brief respite from the usual conflict that now existed back at home.

It would be hard to say which of them spotted Sharath, a gold, even a gold that had yet to reach full growth, was not exactly something one missed. But it was certainly Bajenth who started walking in that direction, while Sh'en, more hesitant of the outsiders, hung back.

Come along, mine. I will not have it said that we are disrespectful.

And Sh'en, who was learning that answering back to Bajenth was a very bad idea, followed in the bronze's wake, a shadowed, uncomfortable thing.

Good evening, Sharath. Sharath's rider. The bronze spoke to both of them, as he often did, seeing no apparent difference between dragons and people, at least on the conversational level. Bajenth's mindvoice was warm, confident, and sweet. If there was any ire or aggression there, it certainly wasn't on the surface to be read.

Sh'en, meanwhile, gave a brief, perfunctory bow. "Goldrider."

The gold looked up when she was spoken to and rumbled, head low as the Ghenzan dragon approached, Greetings... She didn't know this one's name yet but he was being polite.

Amelia blinked at the voice of another dragon in her head - it was always a strange sensation, she wasn't sure she'd ever get used to it - and turned her gaze on the bronze first then his rider. "Hello... did you need something?" The Ghenzan folk didn't often come out this way, not with Sharath having laid claim to the corner and the rest of the High Reaches dragons so it was a pleasant surprise to hear the unfamiliar voice.

"Amelia. I'm Amelia." She added as an after thought, hoping to prompt for names.

"Sh'en." The reply was just ever so slightly curt, but not so much so that it was outside the Ghenzan norm. There certainly wasn't any aggression in his tone. Just a lack of friendliness and a certain amount of unease. "Bajenth wished to pay his respects to you and your queen. I'm sorry if we've interrupted you."

We have not. Bajenth was not about to appologize for his presence, here or anywhere. He didn't particularly care for his rider doing so either. It was an issue they might have butted heads over if Sh'en had the spine to butt heads. But, no. Bajenth had chosen better than that. Come, mine. They must be lonely away from home. Surely we show kindness by offering them company.

But--. He couldn't quite bring himself to finish the thought, to talk back. They'd stolen Ghenza's queen. But no. He couldn't think that. It made the bronze impatient. Of course, Bajenth. You're right.

"We-- think it must be hard to be so far from home." He echoed the bronze, not knowing what else to say. The sentence came out nervous, awkward. But there was a ring of honesty to what he said next, "I could never do it. Leave here."

"Nah, you haven't interrupted us." She replied easily, a look of confusion flashing across her face, "You don't have to come talk to us if you don't want to, you know." Amelia frowned slightly, wondering by the other's tone if he was just following some sort of formality or was honestly trying to say hello.

Sharath rumbled at her side, lifting her head high to peer down at Bajenth and Sh'en. It is hard. It's very different here and not at all like the Weyr. Mine is used to the work, though, and I am proud of her. She spoke to Bajenth, wondering why he was speaking through his rider since she had no problem speaking to other dragons.

"We didn't really have much choice in the matter. You've probably heard why we came here but I'm fairly sure that it was over reacting. The Weyrleader fell sick and some claimed plague but... I was there when he became sick and it didn't strike me like it was an illness." She replied, trying to sound friendly, "It's been hard, like Sharath said, and I get homesick but we get by. Your people are hard working and earnest but we haven't befriended many people to be honest. I don't know if it's colour or Weyr that's dissuading people. I don't bite and Sharath's... not to terrible at it any more."

Sharath whuffed her complaint about that comment, I do not bite, Mine. I speak frankly.

That's what I mean Mine, Amelia replied silently, smiling as she glanced back at the gold.
