'Zuba was nervous, to say the least. She looked in the mirror, tugging at her stubborn hair that refused to go the way she wanted. She was taking Adelle out for bonding time while Adhara took Cabonna out for the day. She looked down at her outfit, hoping she looked good enough. She didn't want to embarrass poor Adelle! Speaking of they're outing, Azubahiel had no idea where she was taking the younger girl! Ohh, she was SO going to make a mess of this, she just knew it!
The split spawn paced as she brainstormed. Park? Nah, too little-kiddish. Library? Too boring. She didn't know much about little Adelle, which made this harder. She didn't know what the girl liked or would enjoy. Oi, this was so hard....

Adelle rarely wore anything different than what she was wearing today, no matter where she went. Okay, perhaps it wasn't quite true. Today, the dress that she was wearing was a little more fancy than what she usually wore, but only because the girl was well-prepared to either be dressed perfectly for somewhere high-class or to be overdressed somewhere else, something that she was used to at this point in her life.
The girl was currently at the mirror in her own room, applying blue-violet lipstick and repeatedly correcting her twin ponytails. When she was finally satisfied with her appearance, she smiled to herself in the mirror and blew a kiss, spinning in place to make sure the dress fluffed up enough for her. Once she was satisfied, she skipped off to where her Mommy was, smiling happily up at the woman. "Hi, Mommy!!" she said sweetly, fluttering her wrapped wings. "So, where are we gon'na go today?"

Azubahiel smiled down at the girl, even though she was nervous. "Well, um...where would you like to go?" she asked, trying to sound cheerful even if she felt like a total idiot and the worse mommy ever. She tugged at her spikey, unruly bangs, trying to tug them into obedience. She looked horrible compared to her love's daughter! Atleast, in her eyes, she did.
"Sorry," she said, offering an apology in advance before she bored the younger spawn to death.

Adelle giggled happily at what she couldn't help but describe as adorable behavior from her Mommy, with all of the picking at her hair and being so... meek! She wasn't used to adults actually being like that, and that made it a strange thing when she saw the same thing happening with Azubahiel. She grinned brightly at the fact that her Mommy hadn't thought of a place for them to go, immediately deciding that it was a good chance to bring yet another person to her favourite hang-out in the entire world.
"I got an idea! And you don't gotta apologize, Mommy, you're not doin' anything wrong, don't worry. Um, yeah, but I got an idea for where we can go!! But we gotta get you a floofier, swingier skirt first, so that it swishes and floofs like it's supposed ta when you're swing dancin'!! Er, oops! I gave away the surprise!!" she giggled, taking her Mommy's hand and leading the woman back to her room, where she started rooting through different dresses, mostly her longer ones, considering they were around the same measurements aside from the foot-plus that Adelle was shorter than her Mama's girlfriend.

The awkward adult just smiled and nodded, feeling like a little kid again. She blanched as she heard the cursed word: dancing. She stumbled a bit as the younger girl pulled her along to her room. "Dancing? B-but I can't dance..." her voice stuttered out quietly, her earwing drooping. To say she was terrified would be an understatement. She didn't want to make an entire fool out of herself out in public and embarass Adelle! She was sure that she'd screw things up; she just knew it!
"I-I'll probaby break something or hurt someone o-or...." She trailed off; she didn't even want to think of all the horrible things that could happen to her! What if she got Adelle kicked out along with her? That'd be horrible!

Adelle only giggled, her usual peppy self, and continued to root through her clothing. "Nah, don't be silly Mommy!!" she said happily, oblivious to the idea of self-consciousness or the possibility that maybe someone wouldn't be able to do something. Then again, that would be the epitome of Adelle: Always telling people they could and should do just about anything, even if said thing was a very bad idea. She wiggled a little bit, holding dress after dress up against 'Zuba, trying to find one that was long enough to cover more of the woman's legs instead of ones that only reached halfway down her thighs.
"After all, I didn't know what to do when I first went, 'specially since I'd been having a real bad day until Fitzyroy and I- Er, nevermind. So ennyways, you'll do good, I know it! And even if you don't, you just have to wiggle around and spin sometimes and stuff, just do whatever you feel like doing! And even if you stumbled or fell or fell on somebody or somethin', usually people there are more worried 'bout everyone else than themselves, so they probably won't be mad, they'll just help you back up or help you however and make sure you're okay. AAAND it's so much fun, anyways!! I'm sure you'll have fun, Mommy!" she exclaimed, positively overjoyed that she was going to be able to spend some quality time with Azubahiel, something that she didn't get to do as often as she liked.
Finally, she found a dress, one that had previously been her mother's. It reached her Mommy's knees and was a deep, rich purple with a petticoat or two beneath it, the waist and other brims all black along with large, thick black swirls across it's front and back. Squealing, she tossed it at her Mommy in excitement, giggling a bit and running to the door. "MmKay, I think that's the longest one I got, so it's probably the best. You can change into it and I'll wait and you come out when you're ready!!" she said excitedly, giving her Mommy a broad grin before slipping out of her bedroom and closing the door.

She wanted to question about exactly what happened between Adelle and Fitzroy, but the young girl was breezing right on with the conversation, offering her words of encouragement. 'Zuba stood, listening and keeping still as the girl held the dresses up to her. "Um, okay....." she said softly, trying to mask her nervousness. "Wiggle and spin, I think I can do that...." Well, she hoped she could do that, anyways. She offered Adelle a small smile, trying to keep optimistic. No, she wouldn't make a complete fool of herself and her daughter. She wouldn't. Nope.
Azubahiel caught the dress as it was tossed to her, adjusting her grip on it to get a good look at the dress. "Thank you, Delle." she said, smiling at the girl gratefully. After a few minutes, the young woman stepped out into the hallway, tugging the dress into place. She wasn't used to wearing such elaborate clothes. She was pretty sure she had them on right, but, as was her nature, she couldn't help but worry and second guess herself.

Adelle was, admittedly, a little impatient when waiting for her Mommy, but it wasn't as though it was meant to harm her; Adelle was usually impatient, especially when she had to wait for something. However, she contented herself fairly well, swishing through the hallway rather enthusiastically, a smile on her painted lips. She glanced up when the door opened and immediately gave a bright grin, clapping her hands together and bouncing closer to 'Zuba, followed by bouncing all around her. A few times, she tugged the rest of the petticoat down that had gotten caught in the waist line, but otherwise seemed to approve of the fact that she had gotten the dress on properly.
"Oh, Mommy, it's perfect!!" she squealed happily, clapping her hands once again, wings fluttering in excitement behind her, though she tried to keep them from moving around too terribly often. She stretched out her hand to take 'Zuba's happily, tugging her toward the door to their apartment with an obvious bounce in her step. "I'm real glad that you're coming with me today, Mommy~ I'm sure that we'll have lots of fun dancin' and stuff, won't we?"
