--- The Crag Lands --- The Crag Lands is a wide open mountain terrain that is rocky and unforgiving. Many of the rock formations around are sharp and oddly shaped, giving a incredibly diverse number of scenarios and tactics to be used within it. If you can think of it, that sort of rock formation is probably no more then 50 ft away from you. This is an ideal battlefield for Doton users, but doesn't really harm or help any other elemental type in the process.
This is a seemingly straight forward battleground, except of course for the earthquakes and the occasional dragon. After every two posts, the ground will begin to shake rather violently due to an earthquake, causing large fissures and fault lines to form near the combatants. The fissures can range in size, but are generally very long, spanning large lengths of a field and can be about 10 ft wide. The post following every earthquake, a dragon will appear, apparently rather pissed that you are on his mountain and will shoot fireballs at both users.

In a flash of light, the scenery quickly changes, each genin barely even aware of what happened during the teleportation. Sure, your skin still tingles a little, but otherwise, everything else is the same. Well, except for the fact that you are now standing in a jaggedly rocky mountainous zone with trenches, high rugged terrain and what would seem like bottomless pits considering you can't see their bottom.
The air is somewhat moist and the entire area is blanketed with a strange kind of lingering heat. It's not overly hot, but it's definitely warmer then it was in the arena and with the humidity, you can feel the air much more tangible then other areas. As you stand there, the Jounin instructs you to move 25 feet away from each other. right before you begin to move however, you feel a slight tremor in the earth which seems to shake the entire landscape. A carefully trained ear would even hear what might sound like a 'roar' if the source of the noise could be pinpointed.
"No rules gentlemen... excepting I will step in to stop either of you from killing each other. We're here to find future Chuunin, not kill off all the hopefuls. Represent yourselves and your countries well...HAJIME!" With those words the instructor jumps back and prepares to proctor the fight.

 David GreysonSunagakure | Ichibi Host | GeninTactics | Speed | Strategy | Insanity"Interesting place." David spoke after moving away as per the proctor's request. He wasn't even going to try and figure out what had just happened to bring them there. Some things were best left ignored. The place really was impressive though, jagged rocks, holes in the ground, strange rumbling and warmth. Was this a live volcano, or something else? He could even see a trail leading higher up the mountain off in the distance. "Too bad they made us the first match." The boy said, stuffing his hands in his pockets. "The rest of the tournament will seem boring." He finished with a grin. From what he had seen of this boy, he was plenty strong. He didn't know just how strong he was, but it should make for a good fight either way. "Let's give them their moneys worth, hm?"[Chakra Point Total: 35/35]

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | As the white light shined around him, Shinji felt nothing until his vision returned, dumping him in the middle of the Crag Lands. Due to the numbing, Shinji didn't even really detect any difference in the atmospheric conditions, but looking around, he couldn't have been more pleased with the arena he was fighting his first battle on. As he looked around, his grin grew as his eyes traced the jagged rocks, rocky terrain and pits. He had grown up on this sort of landscape and felt at home here. It was more then that though...
As Shinji took a deep breathe in, he felt an intense connection with the craggy mountainside. The rocky surface on which he was standing wasn't simply holding him up, stopping his feet from going down, but it almost felt like the energy of the mountain was flowing up into him, strengthening him. The intensity of the energy flow was clear and Shinji could feel it in his body as it seemed to invigorate him. He was quickly torn back to reality however as his own chakra suddenly leaped out at him, sending a wave of pain through his system, as if to remind him what force was truly in charge. Grimacing at the pain, Shinji face passed from peaceful to angered, and then to serious very quickly.
On instruction, Shinji began to move away just as the mountain shook unexpectedly, causing him to only slightly trip up on his feet. "Seems like something about this area is unstable... all the more interesting. that was just a baby quake though, I wonder if it gets worse. better be on my guard." As he reached his spot, he turned around, watching his opponent also position himself. Slowly Shinji began to roll his neck around his shoulders, then rotating his shoulders forward and back as he began to hop on his feet, one at a time, warming up calmly. From what it would look like, Shinji was still warming up casually, even after the proctor screamed hajime.
He knew the boys speed, at least he thought he did when he saw the boy explode around the dojo before he was hit. Shinji was barely able to keep up, though if it hadn't been for the back flow of the weapon chakra, he might have been able to at least block, if not dodge. However, he didn't feel that the boy was in fact any faster then him, and as such, he felt comfortable with what would be his next move. Hearing the boy start up some banter, Shinji seemingly ignored it as he continued to warm up, but then right at the end of David's sentence, Shinji was suddenly gone, rushing forward with blistering speed towards his opponent.
Shinji had never been one for subtlety or banter in a fight, and more often then not he was always the first to attack. He simply couldn't stand to wait around and chat and when the opportunity struck, he would charge forward, the surge of combat entering into him and invigorating him to no end. Practically disappearing from sight, appearing left and right as he leapt over a small pit and jumped around the sharp rocks, Shinji approached David faster then he might have expected, closing the distance between them in a mere second or two. He had always been fast and very few people had ever been able to keep up with him at his level, but he had a feeling that this fight would be his most challenging yet, and as such, he could not expect even this blitzkrieg to work.
With a large metal clanking sound ringing through the air a split second before Shinji reached David, Shinji swung Forza down at the boy's position with incredible force, which when combined with his speed would be a devastating opening move, even if it was strike to gauge the boy's reaction time and ability. Either way, the attack itself would do serious damage if not properly dodged or blocked... Forza was not a forgiving weapon to come into contact with.

All he would have to do is twist to the side. But where would the fun in that be? It was nearly impossible to track the other boy. Other than the few moments when he was visible to take another step, or the pebbles shifting as his feet landed, there was practically no sign of him being there. But it was enough. The boy used a sword, and was obviously trying to get within range. When David estimated that the boy would finally be close enough, he made his move. And didn't actually move to do it. "Suna Ouchi." With those simple words, the boy's chakra flared, and the ground below him shifted. Not an earthquake like before, rather, this time it was changing. A wide circle around the boy suddenly began to shift and grind against itself, tearing itself down into sand particles, and by the time Shinji had begun to swing his sword, the ground gave way to a quicksand like substance. A large circular pit with David standing directly in the middle. The sand was deep, easily enough to suck Shinji down all the way to his waist. [Chakra Point Total: 30/35][Suna Ouchi][Doujou Kirikae]

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | As he approached, he saw no response at all from the boy, wondering what the hell he could have been doing. If he in fact was planning on not moving, this was going to be one hell of a short fight. Just as he was about to swing down however, he saw his opponent's lips move as he spoke words which sounded like a jutsu. "No hand seals though... it couldn't be." Shinji's thoughts however were tossed aside as he suddenly felt his foot stick into not the hard craggy surface of the area, but rather a sinking sand of some sort.
Having no other choice, Shinji thought fast, not wanting any part of being stuck waist deep in quick sand as he quickly maneuvered his weapon not to swing down at David, but rather firmly planting it downward into the sand. it was quicksand, yes, but Forza was a large weapon. the blade easily cut through the sand, planting itself firmly in as Shinji used the blade's hilt as leverage, pulling his foot out of the quicksand as he used his momentum to carry him forward. Forcing chakra into his hands, Shinji was able to grip and balance on the blade's hilt, as he flew forward over it, his leg swinging around into a flying kick as his foot flew forward, aiming directly for the boy's head. Had he not been as fast as he was, he might not have been able to make such quick movements and decisions, but this was after all Shinji's specialty to force the attack in all situations.

Lifting his right hand out of his pocket, he made a rising motion with it, a large portion of the sand from the pit following it, and stopping between Shinji's foot and David's head. The sheer bulk of it would not only stop the kick, but begin to wrap around his foot. The grasp wouldn't be that strong though, as David wanted to see just what would happen with this fight. "It's my turn." The boy said, smiling once more as he suddenly shoved his hand forward. The sand floating in front of him as a result, formed into a wall of sorts, and began to push on Shinji, as if to shove him back. In the process of making this move, the chakra flow to the sand pit was canceled, turning it into normal sand once more, just as solid and heavy as if it had never been moved. | Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | Shinji had honestly figured that the boy used sand as both a weapon and as his defense in how little he was moving in accordance with Shinji's attacks. Shinji's opening tactics might not have been brilliant, but for someone to simply not move in response meant that they had full confidence in some sort of unseen defense. As he launched his kick, he figured that the test would soon be answered, which it was as he found his attack stopped completely by a wall of sand. However, not only had the sand blocked his attack completely, but the sand had begun to creep around his leg to entangle him.
Not one to simply allow such a thing, Shinji quickly pulled his leg away, disrupting the moving sand as it dispersed into the wind, allowing Shinji to land and get a solid grip on his weapon. at this point however, it was now stuck in the earth, which had recently hardened as the attack ended. What was worse however was the wall of sand flying towards him. grabbing a hold of the hilt of his blade with both hands, Shinji pushed his chakra laced with the earth element into Forza, causing the blade to suddenly tint to a tan color. Then, as if cutting through butter, Shinji was able to dilodge the sword from the ground, the blade crashing through the earth in an upward slice, which not only erupted out of the ground spraying debris, but also cut through and dispersed the wall of sand which was moving towards him.
Just when he was about to form a counter attack however, very suddenly, a massive earthquake began to shake the entirety of the battle field as Shinji was knocked off his footing, causing him to have to plant Forza into the ground and use it as a stabilizing pole simply to remain standing. No sooner had he sunk the blade into the ground however, then did the earth in that area suddenly split, widening quickly as a vast fissure began to open up beneath him. Quickly jumping backward away from his opponent to escape the quickly growing fissure under him, a loud clank could be heard as he attached the blade to the clamp on his back. When all was said and done, Shinji had been forced back about 20 feet, leaving a 10 foot wide fissure between him and his opponent.
Staring across the newly formed chasm, Shinji sized up his opponent, having learned a great deal about him from only a few attacks. His abilities seemed to be odd compared to most other ninja, but all it did was prompt Shinji to develop more of a strategy. "If it continues to quake like that, this will not be an easy fight. To have to defend and attack amidst opening fissures will become rather dangerous rather quickly. Forza can cut through any earthen barrier with ease, but it's a matter of finding the precise strike so as not to waste the chakra, or the time to recharge." All this time as he thought and analyzed and waited and watched his opponent, wondering if perhaps the boy would make the next move.

Not fully expecting it, the boy was thrown to his knees and very nearly fell, when the fissure began to open, it was his bad luck to have still been in the pool of sand, as despite his power over it, the surprise rendered it useless, the sand, and him, slipping into the hole. Or so it would seem from above. As he fell, David gathered the sand around him and formed it into a good sized platform below him, stood on it, and waited. Something wasn't quite right about that earthquake. The tremors were more as if something large had decided to move than normal plate shifting. He would deal with that when the time came though. For now, he would wait for Shinji's head to pop out above the fissure, checking to see where he had gone. [Chakra Point Total: 30/35]

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | Having escaped from the fissure himself, albeit with some difficulty, Shinji was surprised to see his opponent fall into it, seemingly caught unaware. "There's no way it could be that easy. He wouldn't have made it this far without being better then that. I've seen him fight, he's more capable then this. If I had fallen in the fissure, I would have found a way to catch onto the edge in someway, and then use the fact that my opponent couldn't see me to my advantage." Looking over to the side, Shinji could see the Jounin proctor still standing steadily on a high boulder, not having moved at all, further supporting his theory that the boy was not near death. "Alright then, time to see what he's up to."
Shinji began to form a few hand seals in order to move into his next technique when he suddenly heard an ear-shattering screech fill the air. Completely distracted by the sudden shrill noise, Shinji lost control of the technique, canceling it before he looked skyward for the source. Much to his surprise, as he cast his eyes skyward, Shinji saw a long scaly body, soaring through the air directly for him, the beast's wings stretched wide as it soared towards the battlefield. Having never actually seen a dragon, though deeply fascinated by them, Shinji's mouth dropped, his eyes opening wide in surprise before being snapped out of his gaze by another shriek. As the dragon drew closer and closer, it soon became dreadfully obvious that it was flying for them, before suddenly letting loose 3 large fireballs about 7 feet high and wide, one towards each Genin and the Jounin at alarming speeds. The Jounin seemed not even to care as he flashed through a series of hand seals before being engulfed in a sphere of water, which completely dissipated the fireball flying towards him.
Shinji on the other hand, had to care slightly more as the giant ball of fire was well beyond his ability to dissipate with a jutsu. Thinking quickly, Shinji flashed through a series of hand seals, holding the final seal with some trepidation as he could feel the heat of the fire approaching. "Doton: Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu", with barely inches to spare, Shinji disappeared under the surface of the earth, merging into it as the ball of fire crashed into the ground, exploding and dispersing in a giant ring of fire outward from the epicenter where Shinji was standing. Merged into the ground, Shinji was relieved to have avoided the attack, but was already thinking ahead. "My opponent would have had to have dodged that in someway like I did, which means he'd be distracted... time to see if I can figure out what happened to him. Figuring that it was safe, Shinji moved through the earth, moving down some ways before merging out of the side of the fissure which had formed about 10 feet below David. Fingering a flash Bomb, as soon as he saw an opening, Shinji would then throw the device directly at the boy, attempting to blind him before he could followup with another attack.

David GreysonSunagakure | Ichibi Host | GeninTactics | Speed | Strategy | InsanityOkay, David knew something was coming, but seriously, a dragon? That was going a bit far wasn't it? Apparently not, as the creature fired off a few fireballs. The first was dispelled by the jounin flawlessly, apparently with a high level water jutsu, and the next... Did Shinji dodge it? It sounded like it had hit solid earth rather than a defense of any kind. Now probably wasn't the time to worry about that, seeing as he had his own coming towards him... Swinging his arms up from his sides, the boy moved all of the sand from below him to above, letting it wrap around his right arm as well to keep himself in place. It wouldn't do to block the attack only to fall to his death. The fireball hit, and he could feel the impact shove him down a good foot, but the sand was unaffected. He didn't know what it was, but something about his sand seemed to be able to ignore the natural effect of intense heat. Rather than sitting and waiting to see what was going to come next, David began to rise, the sand lifting him slowly out of the pit until he could stop, standing on the edge of the fissure. Once his feet hit solid ground, he simply let the sand fall behind him, lying on the earth until he needed it. Shinji must have used that earth movement technique, as he couldn't see him anywhere. He would wait for the boy to come out again then. [Chakra Point Total: 30/35]

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | Shinji's gamble to come out in the fissure seemed to pay off as he was able to note many things. The fireball itself had been completely dissipated by the sand alone and the boy was at first, hanging by it, and then levitated safely out of the fissure with it as well. Shinji had never seen anything like it before. It seemed to be complete control over the sand, with nothing but the user's will and some motions of his hands manipulating it to great effect. The sand itself didn't seem normal either. The block such a fireball, it would have to have some special qualities.
As he watched his opponent levitate back to the ledge, Shinji put away the flash bomb, not having seen an opportunity to use it, but instead formulating a new plan. Crouching down on the wall, his feet still attaching him to it easily, Shinji felt a tingle through his body as his bloodline chakra began to act up. His heart was beating fast however and he was preparing for an attack, which was allowing him to concentrate more then usual. Turning his body and readying his legs for a quick sprint, Shinji looked up, lining himself up where he saw David walk back onto the edge. Forming several hand seals, Shinji placed his hands to the earth as he whispered into the wall..."Doton: Tsuchi Tou Tou"
As the jutsu took effect, passing through the ground it materialized below David's feet as the earth beneath him suddenly began to move, slowly at first, but then very quickly as about a 5 foot wide column of earth moved like a conveyor belt backward, dragging him right back into the fissure. Then, with his quick hands, Shinji quickly moved into the follow up jutsu as he brought a large amount of chakra to him. Focusing hard on controlling the jutsu, Shinji finished the hand seals, slamming his hands to the ground again, timing the jutsu perfectly so that if the conveyor belt did it's job, the following technique would strike home.
"Doton: Ishi no Yari", As the words were boldly declared, the earth around the ledge, and under and around the conveyor belt of earth suddenly began to shake violently as it's underlying structure was reshaped, hardened and formed into a multitude of spears. Hoping that the conveyor belt itself would move his opponent into the epicenter of the spear eruption, Shinji pushed down hard into the earth as dozens of sharpened rock spears suddenly erupted out of the ground, far more then the normal technique would call for and with more force behind them due to Shinji's uniquely powerful techniques. The spears themselves would erupt from all points about 7 feet around the edge of the cliff, including the side facing into the chasm, granting Shinji a wide breath for this attack to work and hopefully skewer his opponent.

He recognized this technique, and if it was being used... Shoving off hard on his right foot, the boy launched himself into the air over the fissure, just in time to see the spikes erupt where he would have been otherwise. Looking past the spikes though, he spotted Shinji clinging to the wall, and smiled. "Found you." David spoke, twisting his body around into a landing on the opposite side of the fissure. As he landed, the boy slammed his hands down onto the cliff edge and forced chakra into the rock. "Muki Suna Kaishin." As he spoke those words, the cliff face began to deteriorate around his hands, crumbling into sand. He didn't stop with it there though, rather, he pushed it further. Forcing the chakra to move along further down the cliff, the created sand rushed down along with it, shredding through the rock until there was a wave of sand crashing down towards Shinji. The jutsu creates the first bit of sand, and then that grinds down along the cliff through the rock to make even more, etc, etc.

| Konaga Clan | Speed/Offensive Type | Iwagakure | Genin | Just after completing the technique, Shinji felt a surge of pain through his chest, causing him to clutch at it for a second, gritting his teeth through the sensation. The pain radiated out from his chest through his limbs, causing them to shake slightly, though he was capable of keeping himself attached to the wall. It wasn't all too surprising considering the size of the technique created, but it all seemed for naught as he saw his opponent sail over the spikes unharmed to the other side of the fissure. Cursing himself through his teeth, Shinji felt another wave of pain pass through him, causing him to lose focus for a second, but as he came back to grips with the situation, he looked up, only to see his opponent initiate his next attack.
Opening his eyes wide to the technique, he watched as the very side of the cliff itself began to break down, at first slowly converting the earth into sand. Before long however the small trickle of sand began to spread and grow as the entire cliff side began to destabilize and start to crash down on him in a wave of sand. crouching down, Shinji looked down, seeing that he still had a good amount of room, taking off in a sprint down the wall, further into the fissure as the sand began to cascade faster and faster from the gravity. the sand was closing in, but Shinji wasn't finished yet... continuing to run as the sand drew within feet of him, Shinji launched into a series of hand seals, completing the jutsu as he ran. "Doton: Bunshin no jutsu!" Immediately, out of the ground formed an exact copy of him, which was immediately swept up by the sand, but not before letting out a loud feigning scream as it flailed and moved to make it look as if it were the end for him.
At the same time, Shinji crouched down, pushing off one side of the wall to the other, the sand cascade above him shielding his movement and actions as he formed several hand seals in the process... "Doton: Tsuchi Gunjikoudou no Jutsu". Colliding with the wall on the other side, Shinji's hands hit the wall only to be knocked away by the wave of sand as it dragged him down, slamming his body up against the wall, causing Shinji's back to spasm in pain as his arms were struck hard and somewhat bruised on both sides. As a Konaga however, Shinji bore the pain, gritting his teeth through it before regaining a single foothold on the wall with chakra, falling backwards before connecting his hands to the wall, merging into it a split second before the sand cascade completely overtook him.
The bunshin clone had to be strong enough to take the hit from the wave and continue to flail as it were really him, which it did, prompting the Jounin instructor to shunshin away from his perch to see if he was needed. Meanwhile however, Shinji would not waste time, swimming through the earth, back up to the surface as he shot out of the ground like a rocket behind David, spinning around to deliver a devastating kick to the young boy's side as his leg lit up with his augmented silverish-white chakra, threatening to critically injure his opponent if successful. Already, Shinji's leg and body were beginning to course with pain beyond the normal levels, but the adrenaline rush of the moment was taking over as he fought with all of his ability to move through the pain and win this fight.
