I know most (if not all of you) found out about this guild through my thread in the CC, but I was wondering how else I can get people to participate in this guild without spamming random people's inboxes.
So far I have a thread in the Guild's charter and barter (but who goes there looking for a guild to join anymore?) Any ideas would be very helpful.
My own ideas, advertise in my own sig, ask members to find at least one more person to join.

I have friends in real life who might be interested (they aren't the best of artists, but they might find the idea fun). I could see if I could get them to join. Perhaps then they could tell other people, and eventually we would end up with a lot of people on the guild.
The only problem is that a lot of my friends don't use Gaia.
Maybe we could get our guild out there by word of mouth? Like spamming on Rally or in Towns or zOMG? People typically tend to go to places like that when they're bored, and bored people are more likely to join for something to pass the time.
It's just a hypothesis though. sweatdrop

I haven't been in those places for ages. Last thing, the project isn't necessarily for the best artists, neither should anyone expect the story to turn out perfect, since it's just for fun. So yeah, if your friends want to join, then you can ask them.

Yup, I suppose you're right, the artwork itself doesn't matter in this! Hmm...(tempted to draw stick figures...) well I'll try to spread the word!

Well...I don't want people to draw half-asked drawings either... ninja I'm just saying I don't care about the level people are at really.

Oh, I just got an idea. Maybe once we have done the character designs, anybody in this guild can do illustrations of the main characters and post them in the PP, with gratuitous mentions of this guild and a link for people who want to join. It's not spamming if we're legitimately posting original drawings, and if a group of people all start posting art of the same characters over a period of time, some people in the PP are bound to be curious at least. I mean, it's a forum filled with people who like to post their drawings...seems like a good place to link-drop a comic guild.
And other than that, there's always the good ol' Promotions forum.
