Kame'bufuu = Black Bolded
Kinaya = Blue
Kame'bufuu had been out on the prowl for several days now looking for his second catch. Many days before Kame had decided upon creating his own small harem of women who would obey him much like the army he used to lead did. He knew what he expected out of each woman he had proposed this too, and those who did not like his views refused his invitation, either peacefully or violently. He had managed to find one who agreed to his terms and decided to join him. He was thankful there was at least one sensible soul out upon the plains who could see that what he proposed was for the mutual good of everyone involved.
"One woman is not nearly enough," He thought outloud as he scanned around. Most men would be contented if even one woman wanted to be with them; some were contented with taking what they wished of the women and leaving, but Kame was not like them.
He was not greedy as some would precieve, he was rational. One lioness hunting for a male and children could make due, but if the male had decided to go hunting on his own or had simply decided to be off on his own for several days, the female would be left to hunt for the children and defend the children. She could never completel such a feat without unpleasant consequences. At least in Kame's mind anyway.
It was easy to spot the young female amongst the grasses of the savanna. Her coat was a bright pink and her main of blue, which made her stick out against the pale yellows of the grass. Luckily, however, Kinaya was neither hunting nor trying to hide, stretched out and enjoying a rather pleasant doze. There hadn't been many passing her way in some time, and most creatures tended to leave a full grown lioness alone even when sleeping. She was young and playful and generally quite energetic, but now was naptime. And naptime is important.
She wasn't the sort of female who'd just dash into things. Okay well she was but only if they seemed fun or helpful to her. Kinaya was young, foolish and could easily be made to love or appreciate anyone who would take care of her. The lioness was a little quick to judge at times but a good demeanor and the right offers, and she was persuadable, and after that as loyal as could be. Which was probably good if she were to ever find a mate of sorts.
In time Kame'bufuu indeed did spot her. She was an odd mixture of colors, but many of the lions, leopards and cheetahs he had come across in his travels outside of what was once his pride often were. It did not shock him, but he still could not help stare a little longer than he generally would at it. He approached quietly, and sat himself a safe distance away from her, incase his company was not welcomed and she would wish him to leave.
He cleared his throat as an indicator of someone present and spoke to her, his voice calm and a little on the quiet side, with subtle undertones of respect and pride lingering through it, "Greetings to you, Lioness."
He waited several moments for her response, if there were to be any. She looked as if she was napping and may not wake, and if this was truly so he would continue on his way and disturb her no more.
"Hello to you too," she greeted cheerily, not bothering to sit up or open her eyes. It wasn't really meant to be rude, she just didn't feel like moving just yet and she was sure whoever this was would understand that. "Sorry if I don't get up for a few, I'm tiired. Is there something you need, or just chatty?"
"Nothing in particular," Kame'bufuu replied, seating himself where he was standing and watching the pink and blue female before him. She seemed flighty, bubbly, or maybe just care-free. He couldn't quite tell, by she lacked typical manners of an older lioness, so he figured she was on the young side.
"I simply was wandering and noticed you. Do not mind me, nap as long as you wish Lioness."
"Oh okay." she agreed, but despite her works turned to look at him. Her eyes widened in surprise when she got a look at the older male. "My, you sure are interesting to look at."
Kame could not help but crack a smile at the females lack of subtly. It was true he was interesting to look at and many mistook his looks often for his demeanor. He was not vicious, but he was at time intimidating, which did not help in the case of his looks.
"Uhm, thank I suppose. I'm not quite sure if that was supposed to be a compliment or not," Kame said, supposing he should probably give one back to her since she was kind enough to give one to him, "You are just as interesting to look at, Lioness. Your coat is very stunning."
He paused for a moment, forgetting himself. He had not made an introduction and felt very rude for not having done so, "My apologies, I have not introduced myself. I am Kame'bufuu, you are"
"Why thank you." she said cheerily, turning to him more. Kinaya'd decided he was nice enough, so why not talk to him? He didn't seem such a bad guy once you got over how startling he was, and the older lion was super polite.
"I'm Kinaya, nice to meet you." the lioness told him with a warm smile and a flick of her tail. "Where might you be headed?"
"Nowhere and everywhere," Kame said, "At the moment I am searching."
Kinaya sounded like a pretty name to Kame, and so far Kinaya's personality matched how pretty her name sounded. She may be on the young side of the spectrum, but that did not bother Kame too much. The young ones had much more energy and would produce stronger cubs. After all, he could simply teach the cubs to behave if he had to.
"Where is it that you may be heading, Kinaya? Have you no family around?"
"I don't actually. I left my mother a short time ago and have been traveling on my own." she explained, "What is it you're searching for?"
He seemed good and strong, and at least somewhat reliable. At the very least, she'd like to help him find whatever it was he wanted. Kinaya was a good girl, even if a bit hot headed and foolish at times.
Kame'bufuu shook his head to himself. She was apparently very young if she only just left her mother, but it was no matter. Every lioness had to grow up at some time and learn the ways of the world, he figured she would learn these things soon enough being on her own.
"I am searching for a woman," He began, his tail flicking back and forth, "I have been around for quite some time now and have never had any children, and have no female to call my mate."
He looked her over for a reaction, wondering if perhaps he should pose his offer to her. Sure she was young, but having a young lioness around, especially one full of energy, may help him keep from feeling too old, even if he was still technically in his prime.
"What sort of a woman do you want?" Kinaya asked, wide eyed and curious. She was a woman, so to speak! Sure, the lioness was young, but she'd be a good mommy! She was sure of it! "I'm free?"
Kame was taken off guard by the young lionesses willingness to be a mate to him when he had not even offered to her his proposal yet. Her odd eagerness aside, taking her on as one of his women did not seem like a bad idea. She seemed moldable to him, and Tai would certainly be able to teach her things if it was required.
"Any woman, really..." Kame said in honesty. He was not the picky sort. He did not prefer a certain look over another, or a certain species of feline over another. He would simply be content with spreading his seed and being taken care of, as he had taken care of countless lions and lionesses before him.
"All I ask is that the bear me children, feed me, and entertain any whims I may have, though I have few," He explained, "In return I will protect her and Tai from harm. And keep a peaceful place for her to raise the children..."
Kinaya turned her head a bit to the side at the mention of a "Tai". She liked the proposal so far - it sounded safe at least and like good company in the long run. Never one to think too long about things, she nodded her head.
"Sounds fun. But who's Tai?"
"Tai is another female who has decided to join me in this," Kame said, wondering if the fact there was another would be off-putting to Kinaya. He could see how Kinaya may not find the situation desirable if she were to share him and would not fault her for it, but he figured that when he was away it would be better if two adult females were around to protect the children instead of just one.
"I understand if you do not wish for the situation, but this is how I want my situation to be. This is a community of sorts that I wish for. Several women who find being protected from the evils of the outside world in exchange for some food, and a litter or two of children is a reasonable price." He explained, "They may leave whenever they wish, but I have seen in my experience a group setting is more successful in rearing children than simply by themselves."
"Ohh so I get to have a friend too?" Kinaya said with wide eyes and seemed even happier about the situation. "That sounds wonderful!" There might just be something wrong with this female - that or she was really good at spotting the logical good points of a situation than the bad. Either could be useful in this situation really.
Kame resisted raising his brow at her, she was a little odd to say the least, but she was willing and did not seem to disagree with the situation, so it was favorable to both of them.
"Yes, you will have another female companion there. She is older than yourself, but I expect you will be able to keep each other fine company." He said. "I can introduce her to you if you would like, or we can wait until you are finished with your nap."
"No, I'm awake now. I'd love to meet her!" she said with that same wide-eyed excitement. "Wow, if she's older, maybe she'll be able to help me. I've never had cubs or mate before!"
"Alright than," Kame said, a small smile across his face. He was delighted to have already found two females who were willing to be within his community and thanked the gods for it. He had sacrificed much in his years for others and was now having it returned to him. This pleased him.
"Follow me than, Kinaya. Tai is some ways from here, and we should rejoin her before it is dark.
