But since i'm in guard i automatically get placed in percussion during concert season for my uni band. I played trombone through high school, but they won't take that into consideration. There's just something about crashing symbols that i don't like. crying

I'd expect that crashing symbols wouldn't be fun. Maybe cymbals would be, though. Not sure. Good luck.

Well, I'm in Percussion, and for some reason, they mix us all up. Sometimes I'm mallets, sometimes I'm snare, and sometimes symbals. Maybe you should be like that and change up your instruments. Or, if you can't, ask your band director if you can play Suspended Symbals. They're pretty cool. Or try to ask him to change the Suspended Symbals to a Hi-Hat like I did at my State Honors Band. ((If you like more of an rock, drum set, style and not classical and light, I would change to Hi-Hat if I were you)) They will make Percussion so much better for you. And if you still don't like it, write a note to your principal saying you would like to put in consederation to play trombone.
