Martha's like she is for she actually had a family before she joined the military and all that chimaera stuff happened.
All that's left of her family is her brother and sister(Sasha and Matt)
Separated....... Martha has to find both of them.
No one can bear the pain alone. So cold hearted she remains to try and bear the pain once again wondering if they are alright.
