"New job postings at MTV Networks Careers website and from the Animation Guild have revealed that a new Avatar the Last Airbender television project is currently staffing up for production, with open postings for Storyboard Artists, Revisionists, and Supervisors; Prop and Character Designers; and a Live-Action/Animation Reference Coordinator. Nickelodeon has confirmed that the project is in production, adding that series co-creators Mike DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko are involved and that more information will be forthcoming at a later date." Original here.What do you think this could be? I'm leaning towards a continuation of the series; tying up loose ends and the like. Also, sorry if this is a repeat thread. I looked and didn't see anything similar but I also rushed it. ;p

Update! The name has been released.
Avatar: The Legend of Korra.
I'm guessing Korra is the next Avatar. A Waterbender for sure, but I'm thinking a female.

Nope. :c It'd probably be almost 100 years in the future. I'm sure Aang will be around for Korra as Roku was for him. And maybe we'll see the old Gaang in flashbacks. =/

That sounds cool, but I was really hoping that it would be a continuation of what happened right after where Book 3 ended so we could see how they planned on fixing the world. But I suppose this would show us what happened after the war ended, but there would be no Iroh, Katara, Sokka, Zuko, Bumi or any of them around unfortunately.

i don't really mind when the new series would take place. it just means more new, amazing characters for us to get to know. smile i hope they do start a new chapter.

Cool! The wierd thing is Ive been rewatching Avatar and when aang was seeking help from past avatars about killing the fire lord the last waterbender avatar was called Korran! lol Coincidence?
