Alpha Clutch Hatching [14-16] OVER

Zeren watched with unashamed envy as the pretty Green found Hers, *i wish you good luck* he thought. His chest ached as he could imagine the pure feelings the newly Impressed pair must be feeling. With difficulty he dragged his gaze to the eggs, some of which seemed to be rocking a lot.

The first Impression! Azuran smiled as he watched the dragonet approach her chosen Candidate. That went rather smoothly. Quite a pretty dragon too. Blue eyes turned back onto the rest of the unhatched dragons, watching as some more of the eggs wriggled about. Things were starting to liven up.

Mercy watched as the Hatchling wandered about the sands - she didn't seem to be paying any sort of attention to where she was walking but trying to take in every sight she could. Well that was probably understandable after being stuck in an egg for this length of time.

She watched in hope as the green strode past her, hoping perhaps it would turn about and come back - but no it seemed destined for another and while envious Mercy couldn't help but smile anyways before her attention turned back to the eggs.  

[Dragonflight Pern]

Beyond, more of the clutch was beginning to hatch now, with several eggs rocking back and forth. They didn’t crack though, it almost seemed as if they were waiting. When the Red Slash and Grey Speckle eggs crack and irate dragons burst forth, it became obvious why. The bright blue, eyes whriling red and orange hissed at the grey egg’s previous inhabitant but the other blue refused to move. It seemed, perhaps, one blue was too close to the other!

The red slash and grey speckle's inhabitants were the next to hatch, and Azuran was finally able to see the dragons behind the two very irate eggs. It seemed that the one was still acting as a rather bad 'neighbor' to the other. I hope they don't actually end up fighting, he thought to himself with concern. A fight out on the sands would not be pretty. Maybe things will calm down a bit after they find their matches. That was, if they found their matches. It would be rather awful if any of the dragons ended up going between this hatching.

Zeren stared as the next two eggs hatched, both irate Blue Dragons *oh shards they'd better find Theirs fast* he thought, angry creatures weren't easy to deal with. He waited with baited breath for them to make their way to the candidates. Praying he'd be chosen by a Dragon this hatching. He hoped that Viska would behave, and stay where he'd left her, she was a cheeky flit who liked to constantly forget all the training he'd given her.

The double crack of two eggs hatching at once drew Mercy's eyes back to the eggs, her focus had turned back to the green and her new riding in the waiting. When she saw the two blues angrily staring each other down her eyes widened slightly - would they fight? Did hatchling's fight? What if they hit some of the other eggs? Mercy envisioned a brawl of angry baby dragons and winced slightly.  

[The Anesthesia]

Ashmere almost stood, but forced herself to remain seated. She watched the two little blues, she felt like yelling at them about being nice to one's sibling, but again she bit her tongue, there were both strong willed, but she earnestly hoped they would not stare to scuffle, being just hatched one if not both would get hurt.

Hey now boys, calm down there is no need to be so angry first thing out of the shell, what you both need to do is find a rider then, when you get older take this challenge up again. Let all of Pern see whom is the best blue, but not right now young ones, not on your hatching day.

Mentally soothed Ashmere as she directed her thoughts towards the two rivaling blues, she was certainly no candidate but she felt if they listened they might agree to what she said

Alirien had been in no real hurry to line up with the other boys, but he'd have been lying to himself if the thrill of another Hatching hadn't set into him just like all the others. With the first shell breaking to reveal a rather content looking Green, he set himself back just a bit from the group to watch as she chose hers. Good, another girl rider. He'd have to remember her name to congratulate her later.

The next shells to break however put him on edge. That rather angry one and, apparently, it's rival, and neither of the Blues seem at all happy about the situation. Oh please don't let them just attack each other right on the Sands. Would there be any trampling if the pair decide they have to one-up the other and find Theirs first? Shards, hopefully not those were really not pretty happenings.  

[Dragonflight Pern]

The two blues stood at odds, the brighter one growling and hissing at the other as he tried to force his way past but the sibling would have none of it. They seemed on the edge of a fight as the grey speckled egg’s inhabitant tried to force the ambitious blue off. This was his turf!

Meanwhile, the Purple Spotted egg cracked and the pale green rolled out of her shell with a quiet chirp. Shaking her head to free it of the egg goo, she flapped her wings and turned at the sound of the two posturing males on the other side of the clutch. She arched her head high and crooned first at the boys then girls as she made her way over. Was Hers among them?

Shards, the two blues really did look about ready to face off. A part of him wanted to find some way to divide the two, but trying to get in between two feuding males would surely only end in him being mauled. His attention was diverted however at the sound of another egg cracking, and he looked over in time to see a pale green roll out of the purple spotted egg. He watched attentively as she crooned at both the boys and the girls, searching out the ranks. Who would be Hers?

Yep it really did look like there was going to be a fight between the two blues. Mercy silently wished they would hurry up and find their partners - hopefully once they'd impressed they would calm down a bit? Though she wasn't sure she looked forward to them coming closer given the tempers they were showing!

And while she keep on eye on the warring blue it was hard not to pay attention to the sweet little green that hatched next, her little croons would be enough to warm anyones heart.  

[The Anesthesia]

The little blues were really getting fired up and so was she, she wanted to do something, but it was not her place. If she was a candidate she would have none of their attitudes. They were angry boys what they needed was someone to calm them down and not just stand on the sands hoping to be picked!

Ashmere was not sure if candidates were
allowed to interact with the dragonets, but at the same time, weren't dragonriders supposed to be bold and strong willed? She watched the blues as they seemed to begin to square off, but no one was really even paying attention to them anymore as a sweet little green showed herself to the world.

Fidgeting the little harper girl balled her fist, snapping the small stick of coal she was clutching. If need be she would do something, but again she had no right to try, she felt light tears stinging her pale cheeks, there had to be someone down there on the sands that could do something!

The blues postured and finally the brighter blue surged forward, instigating a fight the paler blue wanted none of. Raw ambition, it seemed, had won out. As the cries and roars of the fight rang up, one of the eggs towards the front shattered. A bright green shook herself clean and rumbled at the fighting blues as they turned up sand before she sniffed and took but a moment to scan the Candidates. A nod later, she strode off towards the boys and snarled at anyone who tried to touch her as she moved, summarily dismissing any attempts to catch her attention. She knew who Hers was, thank-you very much. Kentori! Your Lalaith is hungry! Come away from them. The order, and the confidence was unmistakeable.

And apparently the Blues just couldn't have it any other way, they were going to fight it out. At least for now. Well, alright, if they come towards the Candidates Alirien would just move out of the way to not get trampled in their squabble.

He nearly didn't notice the second Green to hatch as she didn't have nearly the entrance her two brothers have, and as she hadn't chosen Hers yet, he doesn't let his eyes stray from the warring Blues just yet. A third Green bursting out and running at the boys though did grab his eye, and he prepared to duck aside just in case. It seemed she'd picked Hers before reaching his side of the line though, good.

He'd rather not know the feeling of being walked, or run all over by a hatchling dragon, thanks.
