Surprisingly enough Sarai was still in control, completely and without any altercations with Amara. She was feeling a bit self-satisfied after her meeting with Ment; relaxed and almost sensual in a very self-absorbed kind of way. Sarai loved that feeling; being in tune with her body to the point where each and every whisper of wind against her fur felt like a million little caresses.
Such a sensual creature she was. Sarai loved feeling completely feminine, and always felt this way after any interaction of the carnal kind, the afterglow lasting sometimes for days.
And so she relaxed near the waters edge of a small pool, completely at ease. Her paws dangled carelessly in the refreshing water and she bordered on the cusp of sleep.

Kame'bufuu had come down to the pool to drink. The sun was high and his coat was a stark black, causing him to experience overheating every now and again. Now was one of those times, and he desperately wanted relief from the heat. He missed the cooler climate he once lived in, but those days were now long gone, and he would adjust to the harsher climate he made his home from now on. He could adapt, he was a warrior after all.
Kame stuck his head into the water roughly, causing ripples to the pool. He drank deeply to quench his thirst and noticed the brown and pink female across the way and quirked his head to the side. She looked interesting enough, but he knew better. Interesting could cause trouble.
When he finished his drink he waited for several moments before clearing his throat and introducing himself. He was not about to be caught off guard by this lioness, and therefore decided to introduce himself before she randomly noticed he was there and felt he was a threat to her.
"Greetings, lioness."

Sarai's ear flicked in annoyance, eyelids opening sleepily. Sleep didn't stick around for long as she noticed the lion before her. He cut a rather stunning figure, stark black and white. His eyes were a bit off-putting, but Sarai could get over that. She perked up a bit, ears swiveling towards his dark form.
"A bit formal, are we?" She purred towards him. He was across the small pool they were at, but that would pose no problem if he seemed interesting enough.
She rose to her feet, daintily shaking the water from her damp paws. Sarai languidly licked away the remaining moisture with a few dips of her tongue before giving her attention back to the male, straightening her back comically as if standing at attention.
"Greetings, lion." She mocked him, sure, but that was Sarai.

Kame picked up on the sarcasm quickly. He had seen it time and time again in soldiers who were either unruly, or felt that they had a superior presence to him. He never tolerated it from a soldier, and would certainly not tolerate it from this woman, especially when he was attempting to be civil with her and allow her to know he was indeed present. It urked him.
"I was unaware respect was considered a formality," He said, his voice much darker and sharp as he spoke, "I am Kame'bufuu. Your name is?"

Sarai was only a tad taken back by his tone. She certainly didn't appreciate his tone, and didn't expect it from the usual males she came into contact with. There was something different about this one, and it didn't detract from him. In fact... Sarai kind of liked it.
"Well you sure do get straight to the point, don'tcha, dollface?" She shook out her coat, taking her time in answering his direct question. She didn't want to give him the satisfaction of submission; Sarai would leave that for Amara.
"I'm Sarai," she answered, looking completely bored despite being thrilled by his company. "What else do you want to know?"

"I would appreciate if you addressed me by my name, Sarai." Kame said. He never liked nicknames, he felt they detracted from a person's character. Being given such a generic nickname by someone, even if meant as a form of endearment, made him feel as if he was being lumped in with everyone else when he was not everyone else. He was Kame'bufuu, and thus he should be addressed as such.
"If you must refer to me with a nickname, Kame is fine," He commented. He had truly not wished to know anything of her and was simply letting her know he was there as a consideration, but now that conversation had been started, he might as well indulge upon it until it ran dry.
"Why a lioness is out on her own in areas such as this. These lands home very aggressive lions and hyenas alike. Traveling alone is a foolish risk."

Well, he certainly was an odd one, wasn't he? Sarai gave him a droll look, unsure of herself. That wasn't a comfortable feeling; usually she was so self-assured that such encounters were simple for Sarai. Kame was proving to be an enigma, and she wasn't sure how she felt about it, honestly.
"Please, accept my apology, Kame." She gave a farce of a curtsy, dipping low in an almost comical fashion. Sarai pondered his question while she straightened, raising a brow.
"I truly do not fear other lions, nor hyenas." She scoffed quietly, idly raising a paw. Sarai unsheathed and sheathed her claws, admiring them.
"I prefer traveling alone. I do not enjoy life-long commitments and friendships."

"That is both a sad and foolish view on the world," Kame commented, the tone of his voice never changing for a minute. He was a confident lion, and it was obvious. Those who felt that saying what they meant, or what they felt with an unsure presence had quivering voices. Kame did not have this; he knew what he wanted to say and made sure that he did.
"Fear has nothing to do with survival, knowing your capabilities does. Not even I would fathom traveling this stretch of land on my own, and I am fully capable of taking down several hyenas at once," He said, his tone never changing even the slightest, "Having to fight so many at once is tiring, and leaves you open for an easy loss against your next opponent. Traveling with a group, even if irritating, is the best course of action in ensuring one's survival."
He did not intend to insult the lioness, but the truth was the truth. She would undoubtedly be maimed, captured, or worse, killed, with that kind of attitude and outlook. she was not invincible after all, and neither was he.

Sarai snorted. She didn't much like the way this male was talking to her like she was dense. Sarai was well aware of the dangers that the savanna offered; she just didn't find herself fretting about it too often. It wasn't something that occupied her mind, in all honesty, and she wasn't about to let him get away with calling her out on what was admittedly a foolish outlook on life.
"You do not know me," she spat, incensed by his calm. He seemed so indifferent and overly confident; this was not her type, not at all. She preferred the pushovers, the weak lions that fell for a simpering look and the batting of pretty pink eyes. "I am far more capable of taking care of myself than you know."
Offended, she sniffed daintily, irritated by the situation. She didn't like being made a fool, and especially by males. Sarai expected them to fall in whimpering masses at her feet, not tell her how foolish and sad she was.

"I don't have to." Kame said, his voice going back from the subtle command in it to a more gentle calm. It was funny that he would do such a thing considering his next comment, "I know that pretty looks and loose legs have it's advantages, that is until everyone has had their turn."
He admired her stubbornness in a way, but he knew women like her. They used their beauty and presence to get what the wished or desired, and caused destruction along the way with no regards to who's lives were turned upside down. Much like how his own was.
"What will you do when your value fades?"

It took a moment for his words to register, a moment for the meaning of those words to sink in. Never in her life had Sarai been spoken to in such a way, and never in her life had she wanted to lash out as much as she did now.
She wondered in part if that's what he wanted to do, and she fought to resist. Oh how she fought, but the urge was too great and she wasn't able to keep quiet. Sarai let the rage pulse through her veins, enjoying the feel of the thrumming in her blood. Her ears were ringing, but she would not be reckless and attack the male; he was bigger and stronger, and she was not in the mood for a physical altercation.
"You do not know me and I find it funny that you keep assuming I am like any you have met before." She spat, her voice rich with fury.
It was in that instant that her demeanor changed. A look of surprise crossed her face, her expression morphing from that of a surly seductress to that of a simpler, calmer being. A complete lack of recognition flashed over her features, a look of confusion, a moment of disjointedness.
"I'm sorry," she spoke, her voice calmer and sweeter. "Do I know you?" Confusion clouded her voice, and she looked very uncertain about herself.

Kame starred quietly at Sarai for several moments not saying a word. Everything about the lioness before him had changed. Her demanor, posture, tone of her voice. Something had changed and was not right about the lioness before him. There was something about her that was off now, or maybe what he was seeing now was normal and what he had been talking to before was what was off.
Kame'bufuu gave a steadily breath and looked from the lioness before him, his voice still calm and quiet, "No. I'm afraid we do not know each other. I just stumbled upon here."

Amara blinked at the male, moving closer to the pond she stood next to. She dipped her head and drank from the water, her eyes never straying from the dark, formidable male. It was obvious she felt awkward, and decided a greeting was the best way to proceed.
"I am Amara," she introduced herself, stepping back after satiating her thirst. "Might I ask your name?"

"Kame'bufuu is my name," He said, looking back to her with his piercing red eyes. He figured that this female, Amara, Sarai, whomever she was had something wrong with her. He had only seen such a thing once before, and it disturbed him to his very core. How someone could be two different people, act two different ways.
He looked away from her again, deciding that he did not wish to be in her presence anymore in the off chance she switched from Amara back to Sarai, full of rage.
"You have my regards," He said, walking away from Amara and the pond.

Amara wasn't sure what the deal was with the lion, abruptly introducing himself and then leaving. You just couldn't tell with some kinds, there were all types out on the savanna. Sometimes she had the habit of finding the oddest ones, other times she was lucky and met more normal ones.
She didn't offer him any closing remarks, instead just watching him leave.
With his frightful eyes, Amara hoped it'd be the last time she saw him.
