With her mother complaining that Melody never visits her as of late, the Klein household came to a decision. Every other weekend their darling daughter would return home to spend a few nights at home. Thus making her mother happy and her father even happier.

The only problem with going home was that it was harder to spend time with her friends, as the Klein house wasn't directly in the city though it could be easily reached by bus. And with her mother's worry that something would happen to Melody if she stayed out all day the only option was that she have guests over. This was actually a rather reasonable (and sometimes preferred) option and was why the blonde Vietnamese girl was some what pacing while waiting for a knock to come.

For the first time she could remember, a friend was coming over to spend some time at the house that could almost be a small mansion (sometimes she wondered if it wasn't). Wanting to spend some time with Yvette now that things were shaping up a bit better with the girl and her father, the best option for the time being had been to invite her over for lunch. Her dad was going to be cooking for them and she was really excited.

Was this what it was like to have friends over? Melody turned as a chuckle could be heard behind her, her father watching in amusement. "Relax, she'll be here."

Weekends were the two only days that Yvette could manage to stuff more plans into. The rest of her days were being eaten up by Elizabeth's Secret. Even her weekends were partially eaten up by the lingerie store she was now employed by.

Yet, today, she had plans that did not involve schoolwork or a full day of work. She had talked to Melody, and they had set up a lunch date. For most people, it might not have been a big deal. Yet, Yvette was turning this ordeal into a big to-do.

She had planned to wear something very nice, since it sounded like parents were going to be around, but her clean laundry was running low. Sure, she could have asked Daddy to do her laundry for her, but since all of her clothing was homemade, it was usually best for Yvette to take care of that herself. Last thing she needed was for Daddy to accidentally put something in the washing machine that needed to be hand-washed. She could imagine the tears coming from the large man about how sorry and apologetic he was over ruining one of her beautiful pieces of clothing.

So the piece of clothing she decided to wear was a bit more revealing than some of her other outfits. Of course, Mrs. Ortiga found the outfit absolutely adorable, though the shy girl did manage to catch the whispers of "I am surprised you would wear such a thing, but it really does show off your assets." Of course, Yvette only responded with a blush, which led to her boss hugging her and spinning her about almost like a rag doll in her arms. It took an extra five minutes to get away from Mrs. Ortiga, but soon enough the girl had packed herself on the proper bus and was on her way to the Klein household.

After yet another unexciting bus ride, the girl wandered up to the door of the proper house, her indigo eyes simply staring as wide as they could open at the building in front of her. It was starting to become rather noticeable that she was the girl who had lots of rich friends, despite being so poor. She stood at the door, and before knocking or ringing the doorbell, paused to straighten out her jumpsuit a bit. It was a rather bright thing and seemed a bit retro with the basic colors mixed with white in rather strange patterns, but it was something the shy girl adored. She mussed for a moment with her headband, and then in a fashion that was very suiting for the quiet girl, she knocked on the door in a quiet manner.

So quiet, in fact, that had Melody not been waiting eagerly for her friend to show up that she would have likely missed it. As it was she could hear her father's surprised noise as she took off for the door to open it. She was doing her best to not look so eager or over excited, while also praying that the house she had grown up in wasn't too.... much for Yvette.

The Sangs had been rich since her grandpa's making it big and the Kleins had been rich for who knew how long (if her dad knew he didn't mention it really). She was used to having money but was raised in a way that she didn't flaunt how much money her family had or their high social standing. She also tried to never make it a big deal but knew her house was bigger then most, unless it was the house of another rich family. Melody really hoped it wasn't too much for Yvette.

Opening the door revealed the dark haired girl in her bright jumpsuit, and Melody's ever present gentle - though bright - smile quickly shone on her face. "Yvette, I'm so glad you could make it! And that outfit is really adorable."

Trying not to babble in excitement the ganguro girl sidestepped to let the girl enter as brown eyes moved to watch her father step into the foyer and into their sights, curious as to who his daughter had invited over.
PostPosted: Thu May 13, 2010 6:43 pm

Her eyes couldn't help but drift up at the building again. There was always that hint of jealousy over how many families seemed to be so well off in Destiny City, where her own was barely making ends meet. It was something she never confessed to anybody aloud. It was just a silent and somewhat petty emotion that lingered in her heart.

Of course, as she was still gawking over the house, that was the time when the door decided to open. Nonetheless to say, the moment the door opened, Yvette's eyes shot back to the entrance as her cheeks began to burn of a warm red blush. She attempted a smile, she really did, but more than anything, the girl just looked plain startled.

"Oh, um... hi!" she offered a bit lamely. Timidly, the girl shuffled in when her friend seemed to gesture for her to enter. As a delayed thought, the girl added "Um... th-thank you" to the compliment. The dark-haired girl remained close to her friend, still not feeling very familiar in this strange new setting. It was obvious she was not at ease, for she clung onto her purse, keeping it close against her body. Her deeply purple eyes did manage to notice the man who made himself visible, but being the shy one she was, she didn't say a word.

Melody's father said nothing still, silent as he watched his daughter and the shy girl she had made friends with. It was interesting to see her rather out of place with their home, or at least feel out of place and he quickly smiled to try and ease her mind. And when he smiled it was easy to tell he and Melody were related.

Her father was a man of definite Asian decent, though he was rather tall for his lineage. He had Melody's dark skin, with amused brown eyes that could show the world his soul if he wanted and long shaggy black hair that he had left down for the time being. He also looked startlingly young for his age.

"Melody, aren't you going to introduce me to your friend?" he asked, trying hard not to smirk at just how eager his daughter seemed. And when he spoke there was an odd accent to his voice, one of the Asian dialects for sure.

"Oh!" Blushing in embarrassment, Melody looked quickly from friend to father and then back again before moving them a little bit closer to the taller man. Hopefully Yvette would be okay as long as the blonde was still by her side.

"Father, this is Yvette. Yvette, this is my dad." Lame introduction was lame. But the man didn't seem to mind it and almost exuded an air of down-to-Earth.

Smiling, he gave a small little bow but nothing more. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Miss Yvette. I'm glad you could join Melody and I for lunch."

Being a good guest, the dark-haired girl shuffled on forward with her friend as introductions were made. In her tiny voice, she attempted to politely reply. "It is n-nice to meet you too, Mr. K-klein."

As she had been learning in work, usually you were supposed to look someone in the eye. She was trying, she really was. Yet, in all her uncertainties, her eyes had managed to find their way to her feet. Her shoes swiveled slightly on the floor.

"I... I um... I'm sorry I was a bit late..."

She had obviously been late. Yes, Yvette had obviously not been on time, thus why her friend was so eager to open the door.

Actually Melody had been eager because this was the first time ever she had a friend over. That wasn't Ignacio. Smiling, she hugged the girl gently and made a dismissive noise.

"You aren't late! Or at least you aren't late enough for it to count."

"Please, Miss Yvette, call me Alex. Or Jianyu if you know too many Alex's." A kind smile as he watched the two, then moved to lead them into the living room. "Mr. Klein just reminds me I'm old."

"Yea, because having a kid certainly doesn't do it for him," she whispered softly, teasingly really as she moved to lead her friend after the tall man. "But you can also call him dad if you want too, because he's used to that too."
PostPosted: Tue May 18, 2010 7:27 pm

Almost like a dog or a cat, when she was hugged, Yvette leaned right into it. Her eyes drifted up again, able to barely catch that gentle smile upon Mr. Klein's lips.

"Oh... um..." She gently pulled herself out of her friend's hugging arms. "I don't think I could call him Dad... since he isn't my daddy." Her cheeks, which had cooled slightly, once more flared up with a warm blush.

"Um um um... I think... I'll call him Jianyu... um... did I say that right?" She probably messed it up. It was a foreign name, so of course she messed it up. However, "Alex" just felt too informal. At least with a foreign name, it didn't feel that way. Though, of course, messing up a foreign name also probably didn't help any.

As Melody began to move towards the other room, Yvette skittered up close to her and stuffed her hand in her friend's. Melody was the only familiar thing in this place to the dark-haired girl, and she was going to be a bit clingy it would seem.

When Yvette leaned into the hug Melody smiled brightly and held her a bit closer. She was just too cute! Especially when she flushed, so adorable. Was her friend even aware of how cute she was? Probably not.

"That makes since, but the option is still there if you want it." Though listening to the dark haired girl attempt her father's name pulled a giggle from the happy blonde. "Actually, that's pretty close, nice job!"

If Yvette's clinginess bothered Melody she showed no signs, and even gave the girl's hand a comforting squeeze. It would be okay, nothing in the house would eat her. And if it tried then the blonde Vietnamese girl would quickly henshin up and destroy it!

... Not that any one in the house knew she led a double life as a Sailor Senshi... Well the thought was still there and she would still do as such if anything dared to harm her friend!
PostPosted: Tue Jun 01, 2010 1:13 pm

Even though Yvette knew how sweet Melody was, she couldn't help but misinterpret the harmless giggle. It meant that the dark-haired girl had messed up on the name, and probably pretty badly too if it was enough to cause her friend to giggle. And try as she might, the shy girl was never very good at hiding her embarrassment, her cheeks easily flushing a darker color.

"I... I promise I'll do better next time..." she almost seemed to apologize before letting her eyes wander around the inside of the house. It was almost sad how frequently the thought of "How many of my house could I stuff into this house" seemed to pop into the girl's head.

As she allowed Melody to lead the way to whichever room they would be going to next, she couldn't help but utter "You have a very nice home. It makes me kind'a jealous." In comparison to her own home, this place was not only huge, but absolutely elegant and well kept. In reality, it really wasn't that hard to outshine Yvette's home. Even if it was a dumpy little place to live with only 1 bathroom for 3 people to share, she still loved her home dearly. Otherwise, she wouldn't have gone out of her way to get a job in the first place.

"Um... th-thank you for having me over, by the way.." Her timing was probably very off, and her attempt to stir up a bit of conversation was a bit lame, but that was how Yvette rolled.

"No no!" she soothed, giving Yvette's hand another gentle squeeze. "You did just fine promise, you're the first one to get so close to be honest. Even Ignacio has a hard time pronouncing papa's name." The giggle was only because Yvette was being too gosh darn cute for her own good.

"A home is a home is a home," was the reply, leading the girl over to a couch so they could sit. "You shouldn't be jealous of my home, in all honesty it's much to big for my tastes. I know I should be grateful to have such a home but I'd give anything for a smaller house so I wouldn't have to go searching for my family when I want to spend time with them. The house can be a total maze sometimes."

"We're glad you could come over. Melody doesn't often have guests, so it's nice to see she's been making friends." Coming back with a tray filled with cups, Melody's father set it down on the table with a smile. "Is there anything specific you'd like to drink Yvette? We have just about anything you can want, to suit our family's different tastes."
PostPosted: Tue Jun 01, 2010 2:23 pm

"...are you sure? I really can try a-and do better." Yvette eased herself onto the couch, nodding her head at her friend's comment. "M-maybe... one weekend... I can invite you over for a sleepover? Though you might change your mind about a small house after visiting my place." She offered a small smile and a slightly nervous sounding chuckle and proceeded to fiddle with the beads hanging from her headband. Even though she made the suggestion, it was probably not going to happen for a long time. It sounded like Yvette was probably going to have to do some sort of summer school, so even with summer coming up, her schedule was still going to be very full.

Her purple eyes blinked a bit as the mention of beverages came up. "Um... anything that is sweet, I guess... oh! And no strawberries!" The small girl was well known for her allergy to strawberries, simply because she tended to make it well known. Even without the explanation of why she couldn't have strawberries, she offered a simple "Thank you, Jianyu." Her fingers finally retreated from the beads along her headband.

"So... um... how has school been?" Melody did go to the school that Mr. Weaver would have preferred for Yvette. It was always interesting to hear how things were at Crystal Academy. They were probably very different from how things were at Meadowview.

"I would love the chance to spend the night at your house~" Melody cooed, a happy smile on her face. "I'm sure I'll love it just fine, you should really stop being so hard on yourself."

With Yvette's "anything sweet" (as well as the addition of no strawberries), Melody's father nodded and disappeared into the kitchen to get them something to drink. Which left the two girls to talk, and probably gave the nervous one a chance to relax just a little. If at all.

"School's been... school. I mean, yea it's for rich kids but it's still just the same as any other school for the most part. You still have your clicks, the nerds, the outcasts..." To which the blonde was sure she belonged because she wasn't near popular enough to make it any higher. Just about every one at school knew about her odd make-up habits, not to mention there was the stigma of being one of the organ ring survivors.

"I've made some friends though, and I have a rather wonderful roommate. It could be better but I'm glad it's not worse." Another smile. "How's school going for you?"
PostPosted: Wed Jul 14, 2010 2:06 pm

Even as Jianyu left the room, every so often, Yvette's fingers seemed to find comfort in playing with the beads dangling from her headband. Yvette was just chock full of bad habits at times.

"I-it isn't the same..." the girl quietly pointed out. "Y-you... you live on campus. I d-don't get to do that. I live with Mommy and Daddy." In Yvette's mind, she also pointed out several different ways things were different. There were no boys on campus, which was one of the main reasons why Mr. Weaver was such a fan of the school. There was less vandalism on campus. More than likely the bullying was not nearly as violent as it could get at Meadowview. There were so many differences, yet all sweet Yvette offered to the table was the one about living on versus off campus.

When Melody had finished her explanation, the dark-haired girl nodded her head gently. "I'm glad you have a good roommate." She had heard horror stories from people who went to college and got an absolutely inconsiderate roommate at the dorms. Yvette probably wasn't going to ever get such an experience. Best she was probably going to get was a community college experience, where she still lived at home. It was much better on her family's budget, that was for sure.

When prompted, the guest gave her own assessment of the school situation. "It's been busy! I'm trying to graduate this year, but it has been really hard to balance school and work lately!" Despite being so short and having a rather childish way of speaking at times, Yvette Weaver was 18 years old. She was a Senior in high school, or at least she should have been. That whole organ ring dilemma really had messed up her already lacking plans for the future. "There's been way too much makeup work, but it would be nice to be able to graduate this year."

She smiled softly, the edges of her tiny lips curling upward. "I-it's kinda nice having the afternoon off from studies though!"

What bad habits? Was what Melody would say upon being asked, because so far she saw no bad habits in her soft spoken friend. Everyone had their own way of doing things, handling things and even looking at things. That didn't mean it was a bad habit.

Or maybe she was just biased.

"I live on campus to get away from my mother," Melody explained with a sweet smile. "Other wise I'd live at home and sleep in my comfy bed." Adaptable she may be, but somethings were definitely better then others. "But there's nothing wrong with living with your parents either. And sure there are differences between the two but that's what makes them interesting in their own way."

A firm nod at this statement, feet swinging just slightly as she shut up long enough to hear how Yvette's schooling was going. And, of course, it was a reminder that her friend was older then she - if only by a year at most. "I guess I'm lucky that I'm not a senior yet. I have plenty of time to make up the lost work and such. Though I'll be a senior next year! I look foreword to it and hope I can take so many music classes."

At her smile, Melody squee'd and hugged the girl. "I'm glad. All work and no play can drive you crazy~"
