It was nearing mid-afternoon when Jianyu finally reached the Marshlands. He reached a hand up, swiping his sweat-dampened hair away from his face and tucked most of it up into a neat ponytail, trying to keep it out of his eyes. The Marshlands were not a place where one could afford to be impeded by anything, especially not with the rumors that flew around the secluded area.
Not that Jianyu believed in any of the superstitions revolving around the Marshlands. But he was as cautious as always, his bow tied to his waist and a sheath of arrows strapped to his back by a thick brown belt. He was nothing, if not prepared, even though he knew that the Marshlands would be deserted this time of day. The citizens who lived nearby had a tendency to avoid the place, for fear of ghosts, but to Jianyu the bamboo the swampy area provided made for good, strong arrows.
Walking around the edges of the more swampy areas, Jianyu tread carefully, so as not to go to deep into the murky waters. He stopped in front of a thicket of tall bamboo, reaching into his pocket to pull out a dagger. However, just as he was about to attempt to remove some of the bamboo, Jianyu's gaze fell on a flash of movement from a few feet away. Narrowing his eyes, he sheathed the dagger, quietly reaching behind him to slide an arrow soundlessly from the quiver on his back. Unlatching the straps, Jianyu strung his bow, holding the arrow loosely in his fingers as he crept around to the thick cluster of trees a short ways away.
There it was again; a blur of darkish pink and blue. Jianyu closed one eye, raising his bow. He pulled the arrow back, feeling his fingers graze his cheek.
Wait...wait...
There.
Jianyu released the arrow. With a sharp hiss it whistled past his face, whipping between the trees to embed itself in the trunk of the tree just beside where an unfamiliar figure stood, missing his head by mere inches. Jianyu stepped closer, holding his bow loosely at his side.
"Who are you?"

Huang-Fu frequented the large encompassing area of the marshlands for one thing only and that was the solitude. Fear of ghost made this area a place where only foolish Lunarians, either dared or a test to their bravery made their way here. Huang though was not foolish, nor did feel like he needed to prove his bravery. He found this place quiet and relaxing and perfect for training the techniques that his master had taught him. He kept his foot steps quiet as he started a series of foot works moves, His arms which had his weapon, the Claws attached to his wrist, moved like water, Flowing with the movements he made as he fought the pretend enemy that was there.
Tall Bamboo to his left hide his view, or in turn could hide him from view. He was intensely focused on his training when he felt the presence of something but ignored it. He would not succumb to the fear of a ghost, or the rumors that it existed in such a place and such put the presence as a wild animal before moving his feet into position again.
And then he heard a sound of a whoosh as the arrow flew past him and ingrained itself into the tree not to far behind him, The arrow had only been a few inches away, Huang flinched a little.
He whirled now though at the voice and squinted at the larger older man who had the bow at his side and instinctively took the pose for a fight as he glared at the man.
"I am Huang-Fu of the Lee family, Honorable Fighter." Huang bowed his head but did not take his eyes of the man, nor did he relent in his position, "Who are you and what brings you to my training ground?" Huang glared at the man still, He did not know this man nor his alliance, for all Huang knew, it was a Noble spy who found out about Huang-Fu's identity as a Assassin and sent to kill him. He kept himself wary of the man.

Jianyu arched one dark eyebrow as he scrutinized the younger boy standing a few feet in front of him. He did not look much older than seventeen or eighteen, perhaps even nineteen, and he was wearing an expression of irritation on his slender face. Jianyu's fingers tapped absentmindedly on his bow as he walked over to where the young man stood.
"Legion, are you?" he said, with just a hint of amusement as he stopped in front of the young man. "It seems that you and I are on the same side. However," Jianyu leaned forward, reaching over the young man's shoulder to let his fingers rest on the arrow still sticking out of the tree trunk. "I would not exactly call this your training ground, seeing as it is a public area."
With a hard twist, Jianyu yanked the arrow out, scattering bark and bits of wood onto the lumpy marsh floor. He brushed off the dulled tip with the hem of his tunic, turning his gaze back to the boy.
"I am Qian Jianyu, son of Qian Liwei." Jianyu said. "Also a follower of the Legion."

Huang angled his head at the man, His arms raised defensively now that the fighter had named Huang's alliance in one guess before his eyes widened to stare at Jianyu and he studied him, the man was to close to Huang's space his arm almost intimately over Huang's shoulders had a slight blush coming up on the young boys face.
"Your right Sir Jianyu." Huang shifted his face away to stare at the man with a frown, "But since i am here training now, i will considered it my training ground until other intrude." And you intruded here, Huang thought as he remembered he arrow that had come flying at him. Huang grimaced as he felt a few of the wood bark hit him as it was pulled, it wasn't painful just a little unnerving to know the man had such a powerful shot that it would cause the tree to break some of it wood just to pull the threat out, even more so if the man had hit Huang instead. "You should be more careful with your shots, or i might not be lucky enough to be be missed." Huang almost said accusingly but without any heat. If he had payed more attention he might have noticed Jianyu sooner than later and mistakes like that cost Lives.
Huang waited till Jianyu pulled back and cocked his head at him, "Then it is a pleasure to see another Legionnaire, Are you training here as well? Out on Patrol?" Huang eyed the man with curiosity, This was the first Legionnaire he had met outside of his master and Family.

Once he had finished cleaning off the tip, Jianyu slid the arrow over his shoulder, back into the sheath still strapped to his back. He latched his bow back to his belt, feeling like it was unnecessary for it in a situation where they were both Legion.
"Just 'Jianyu' is fine." he said absentmindedly, glancing around the secluded area. The late afternoon was sending splintering golden orange rays across the shards of bamboo and greenish water, giving the whole place a slightly eerie glow. "Also, I have been coming here long before you have, and I have not ever seen you here before."
Jianyu folded his arms across his chest and cocked his head at the boy's comment.
"Missed?" he said, eyebrows drawing together in confusion. "Who says I missed you on accident?"
Walking around the young boy, Jianyu reached out, his fingers running over the fissure he had left in the tree. He moved aside, going back to the stalks of bamboo to the left of Huang-Fu.
"I am not training, nor am I on patrol." Jianyu answered. "The Marshlands is where I come to gather supplies for the merchants to make my arrows with."

Huang still watched with fascination as Jianyu slid the arrow easily back into the quiver. This man was well adjusted to fighting, he almost seemed like that he had the weapons as a extension of his body. And in a way Huang envied that as he looked at the claws that we're attached to his wrist.
He frowned down at said claws and remember why he was in the Marshes anyways and frowned even more, "Well that's funny." Huang frowned deepened with thought, he usually came to this spot, if not here, it was the Cherry tree hill, "I come here often Jianyu, and this is my first time seeing you as well." And our first meeting was you shooting a arrow at me, Huang thought that was kinda of ironic in its own way.
Huang sighed a really big sigh, "Well I thank the goddess that you missed on purpose then, I don't think My charge would be very happy that i died while training and not protecting him on the battlefield." Huang stared at Jianyu before turning around now, "Well If supplies is all you need, don't let me bother you, I shall continue my training now." Huang turned to bow to Jianyu before widening his stance so that he could begin the steps for the attacks.
Legs apart, arms held out in front, his weapon, the claws we're fully extended now as he tuned out Jianyu and moved around the ground, taking the steps he was taught by his master, messing up quite a few of them

"I never miss what I aim for." Jianyu said, still somewhat amused by the way the boy was acting. "Besides, I do not simply kill a stranger without finding out who they are beforehand."
Huang had turned away from Jianyu now, a scowl on his face as he moved off to the side. He was going back to his training now, his face an expression of concentration as he moved slowly, carefully.
Jianyu frowned.
"What are you doing?" he asked, perplexed. "That is not how training is supposed to be."
Stepping up behind Huang, Jianyu reached around him, closing his hand over the back of the boy's, stopping him mid-motion.
"Stop." Jianyu said. "Let me show you how it is supposed to be done."

Huang sighed as he tried to tune out Jianyu, "Thats ridiculous, everyone misses once." Huang looked over his shoulder to see Jianyu watching him, "Well thats comforting, I'd hate to die right now." Huang shrugged before trying to make the steps he was taught, however Jianyu was distracting him, just...Standing there behind him.
The hairs on his body rose as Jianyu came over grabbing Huang's hand from behind, "I was training." Huang said with his face in a scowl as he stared at Jianyu's hand over his, for some reason he could feel a blush come up on his slender face.
"Your are going to teach me?" Huang said now in a question, He had his master who taught him but sometimes even his master was to busy with missions, "I thought you needed to collect supplies?"

"You might have been training, but you were not training well." Jianyu said smoothly. "And I was collecting supplies. However, I can see that you are having some difficulty, and I would like to help you with that."
Keeping his hand where it was, Jianyu reached around the boy with his other hand, now holding both of Huang's hands in his. He stood behind him, keeping his arms steady.
"Learning to fight is not a skill." Jianyu said. "It is a manner, a way of connecting with oneself. If you cannot trust yourself to make the right move, then you cannot expect to make the right move, even if you have a weapon to guide you. Which it seems like you do."
Twisting Huang's wrists, Jianyu turned the boy's hands so that they were flat, palms directed towards the ground. He examined the intricate metal claws carefully, scrutinizing every detail of them.
"These are very well made." Jianyu mused, running his fingers down the back of the cool metal. "However, it is not wise to train with them on at your present level. Take them off?"

Huang scoffed at Jianyu but deep down he knew the older man was right. Without his master around and now with the academy, Huang was as dull as a farmers scythe, and with his weapon which was made by himself, he really didn't know how to use it well.
Jianyu moved to take Haung's other hand in his and Huang could feel Jianyu's breath on the back of his neck, making him shiver a bit before he manned up. Although he was quiet and it was mostly due to Jianyu's need to be in his space, He made a little sound of distress when Jianyu flipped his palms up staring at his weapon.
"Well of course it is, I made a mistake with the first version of it, i made sure not to make a second mistake." Huang turned his head to look the man in the eye instead met with his lower half of Jainyu's face, and turned away with a blush creeping up again.
Get a hold of your self, Huang thought, your an embarrassment to your master if you cannot prove to Jianyu that you are willing to learn more, "If this really helps than." Huang said aloud, "Will you release my hands so that i may remove them?"

"Your workmanship is quite good" Jianyu said, releasing Huang's wrists and stepping back. "However, you must learn to train without the aid of your weapon first before you can practice with it once more. It takes time and concentration in order to wield something such as those claws of yours. I would very much like to see them in action, since I have not have the pleasure of seeing such a weapon before. However, you must first train yourself before that can happen."
Jianyu was quite interested in this new acquaintance of his. It was rare that he met someone who seemed to have the same spirit of fighting as he did, and he could tell from his fiery personality that Huang-Fu was different than the other Legionnaires that he had met previously.
His gaze raking up and down the young man standing before him, Jianyu folded his arms over his chest, walking in a slow circle around Huang.
"You have a very nicely developed body." he mused, his eyebrows drawing together in concentration. "Well formed muscular definition. I can tell that you are strong."
Raising his head, Jianyu held out his hand and said "Your weapon?"

Huang blushed even more know, Not many knew of his work since he was only a apprentice and it was rare that his work was acknowledged. He found that more intimate than even Jianyu close by and shook his head, He didn't know what he was thinking, Jianyu was new person and a man yet he was making Huang feel something different? It was Odd and confusing. Though the chance to improve himself in battle was much more important and he shoved the confusion away as he took Jianyu's words to heart.
"I thank you for the compliment Jianyu." Huang nodded at him, "Then you will teach me of what you speak? I will become capable of the weapon i built for myself then?" His words we're curious, he had built the weapon for himself but never really understood it, nor did he think his master did and it took a stranger's view to find out the problem with his training.
As he unbuckled the weapon from both of his wrist, he noticed that Jianyu had made a study of him and stood taller and stiff, even as Jianyu complimented his....body? that was a little odd. "I work as a metal smith so my muscle needs to be able to hand the work?" He said confused, staring at Jianyu before slipping the weapon off and the blades retracting. Handing it to Jianyu, He felt a little naked without his weapon attached to his wrist.

The metal felt cold beneath his fingers, and heavier than Jianyu expected. He set them down carefully on a nearby treestump. Reaching out, Jianyu took one of Huang's hands in his, examining his fingers.
"As I thought." he said, turning the boy's hand so that Huang could see. "Your hands are blistered from constant wear on them. You would do well to get some salve for them, to bring down the swelling."
"And yes," Jianyu answered, dropping Huang's hand. He unlatched the sheath of arrows strapped to his back and set the quiver next to Huang's claws, followed closely by his precious bow, then walked back over to the younger man. "I will teach you what I mean."
Moving to stand behind Huang once more, Jianyu moved his hands around to cover the boy's eyes, feeling a shudder as Huang jerked in surprise.
"I will not hurt you." Jianyu said. "Now. Tell me what you remember seeing five seconds ago, before I blinded you."

Huang stared at his hands and tried not to shrug, the blisters we're better than when he had his first version of the weapon, he ran his hand along the scar that lined from his right to middle finger, one blade had come out wrong and almost cost him his hand.
"I do not have the money nor the rights to buy balm." Huang looked away, His master believed natural healed injuries through the body's process helped him learn that he couldn't always rely on medicines to help, small things like blisters we're of no consequence to him. Though he did have a balm for burns but it was left in the metal shop he worked in.
Huang watched curious as the man put their weapons aside and the come to stand behind him, covering his eyes. Huang automatically jerked in response and moving his hands to push off Jianyu's hands before relaxing. He didn't need to fear the Legionnaire, trust was necessary for this process.
Though he was distracted, he could hear Jianyu's steady heartbeat and then he could hear the animals of the marsh, but he focused though on the what he had just saw, "Your Quiver set aside, It had 25 arrows." Huang sighed, was that important?
