It had been another slow, relaxing day for Spenta. The majority of the day had been spent with quite important things, such as dustbathing, grooming, and napping. Now that night had fallen, the cooler temperatures brought with dusk were more inviting. Spenta had the urge to get out and about, and so he did.
First on the agenda was a nice sip of water. Perhaps this time he'd be able to drink, uninterrupted, and then he'd be on his way. Spen wasn't completely sure what he felt like doing, but he knew that wasting another minute lazing about wasn't an option.

The dark furred cheetah prowled lazily through the grass, her ears relaxed and her eyes intent on her destination. She'd had some fun recently, though she knew big brother wouldn't approve. But so what? Just because he was a big old stick stuck in the mud and much didn't mean everyone was. Some people knew how to have a good time. But now she was all by her lonesome again. That always happened. It was just as well, really, since Aiko didn't plan on settling down anytime soon. Too much to be done first. But sometimes it got a little lonely... which was why she always found her way back to her brothers after only a few short days of 'getting seperated' from them.
Still, it might have been nice to at least spend the night with someone, instead of having what's-his-name vanish shortly before the sun started down. He probably was worried about a mate or something, stupid boy. That or he was just a coward afraid of a little moonlight.
With a small sigh, Aiko lay down on the edge of the watering hole she'd found, her dark fur melting into shadows as she stared at her blackness that was her reflection outlined against the starlight. Once again, she was reduced to it for her only companion. It was hard being alone sometimes... maybe she'd hurry a little faster to find her brothers. Even Nana was better than being lonely...

Spenta didn't notice the cheetah approach the waterhole at first; it'd been nearly impossible to see her in the darkness. He did hear her sigh, however, and was instantly on the alert; his brother?
Nostrils flared as he drew in surrounding scents. No, not the heavy, tainted smell of Angra. Not anyone he recognized. That was somewhat reassuring. Spen could deal with the unknown better than he could his brother, sadly enough.
Not wanting to sound too forthright or imposing in any way, Spenta merely called out a soft, "Hello?" to whomever was tucked away in the shadows.

Aiko startled slightly, she'd not noticed someone else sneaking up on her! What was wrong with her today? Her nostrils flared slightly, but it seemed the wind was a bit against her tonight. Slowly, she started to rise, standing was a better position to start in. Whether it was fleeing or fighting or, better yet, flirting. Much more mobile on all fours after all.
"Hello?" she called back, her voice soft with caution. She wasn't always so prudent, but she'd been in a tangle around here, and didn't like the idea of a repeat just now. Of course, her concern was absolutly for naught. The way this boy's fur stood out like a beacon in the moonlight...certainly not the lion she'd met before.
But my, wasn't he handsome.
"Ah, there you are," Aiko purred, giving herself a small shake to dislodge any dust or grass from her silky black fur before approaching the strange male. Once out of the shadows, the moonlight should at least highlight her dark form well enough to be seen. Aiko usually liked being seen... "I didn't know I had company," she added, perhaps with a bit more friendliness than absolutely necessary. "Might I inquire a name? Or would 'handsome' do?"

Spen had seen cheetahs throughout his life but had never interacted with one, let alone one as lovely as this. She was glossy and trim, obviously so, even in the faint moonlight. Spenta tried to tamp down the unease that crept up his spine; she was also as dark as midnight.
Yet she seemed friendly enough.
Spenta stopped gawking long enough to clear his throat, bowing slightly in greeting. "I apologize if I caused you any fright; I assure you it was not my intent." She was a bit forward for him; it wasn't that he didn't appreciate a flirty, gorgeous feline, he just hadn't the foggiest idea what to do with them.
"I am Spenta," he continued, "Please, call me Spen." His voice was low when he spoke, husky, even.
"And what might your name be, miss?"

He was ogling. Aiko wanted to laugh. She didn’t mind the stares she got, she loved them. A natural beauty, that was her. And everyone ought to know it, or they’d learn soon enough. She smiled instead, obviously unbothered by the way he was gawking at her. Actually, the way her indigo eyes flickered over his form was probably returning the favor.
She’d no notion that her coloring, subtle and smooth as midnight itself, might be alarming to him. She’d never before been given any reason to suspect that coloring had anything to do with…well…anything. Her brothers were as dark as she was, even their adoptive sibling Bungie.
“Frightened?” she repeated with a small laugh, “Oh, a bit surprised perhaps. But I don’t mind.” Not when this handsome white fellow with the pretty markings was as friendly as she’d hoped. “I’m Aiko. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Spen,” Aiko purred, moving to stand just a little bit closer. “So, what brings you out here after dark?”

Spenta was gawking indeed; never had he seen such a lovely female cheetah. She was smooth perfection, and he had to let himself admire her for just a moment before drawing his attention away from her body and more towards her conversation. He didn't want to seem rude; it's just that she was so different from Kizuka, the one he still loved to this day.
"Aiko," he said, "A lovely name."
"As for what brings me out? Thirst, the promise of cooler temperatures. Evening is my favorite time of day," he smiled, fighting the urge to purr back at her. It alarmed him; it was almost as if he couldn't resist the urge to flirt with such a lovely creature. It was completely unlike him; part of him wanted to break free of these inhibitions. Perhaps he would... perhaps he would.

This Spenta was adorable. Aiko probably could have stopped herself, she could tell when she was teasing someone, when she was flirting and playing. The thing was…she didn’t want to stop. It was too much fun after all. And she liked him, he was sweet. Kind of. Granted, she didn’t know him well at all. But there was something altogether nice about him.
And she meant besides his soft white fur with the pretty little swirls of color. Though that was quite nice really. He was a bit larger than she, lions tended to be, and there was nothing about him thus far that she disliked. Besides, she was lonely. And he was company, he’d walked right to her as though her sad little wish had summoned him.
“Well, Spen,” she smiled, “The water’s right there. It’s quite nice.”
And so was he.

Spenta chuckled sheepishly at her comment, his nose turning a bit pink. "Ah, yes," he murmured, moving towards the water for a quick sip. It was cool and refreshing, and as he licked his maw his crimson gaze turned back to her. His tongue slipped out as if to assure himself that no wayward drops of water were dripping, and then he offered her a smile.
"You're right," he said brashly, uncharacteristically, all the while his eyes locked warmly on her lovely form.
"It is quite nice."

Aiko watched him with lazily interested eyes as he padded past her to get his drink. Refreshing wasn't so much what she loved. Exhilarating was better yet. But still...a calm relaxing evening was just fine. Especially with some company...
Her tail curled gracefully around her paws as she sat, then, while he was still occupied, shifted herself a few inches to one side. There was a pesky tree putting shadows on her when she was trying to be bathed in moonlight, darnit. A natural beauty she might be, but nature could always help a little.
"I'm glad you think so," she purred back, happy to flirt and play quietly in the soft silver-touched darkness.
(((Aiko seems to be nudging him for a fling, if you wanted to have a cubless one, that'd prolly work out fine XD Just sayin', since things seem to be getting less than totally innocent. Otherwise, just this flirting works fine ^^; )))

((lmao~ I love Aiko so much. :3 ))
Spen was not feeling himself; perhaps it was the intoxicating moonlight that gently spread over the land, perhaps it was his own loneliness, or perhaps (and most likely) it was the tempting sight of the lovely female before him.
Spenta wasn't much of a take-control type-guy, but something about this lithe and lovely girl was bringing out a more domineering side of Spen that he couldn't (and didn't really want to) stop from creeping into his mind.
The way she sat bathed in the soft silvery moonlight, her inviting eyes and appreciative tone... he was lost.
Moving back from the water he lazily circled her before coming to a stop in front of her, settling back on his haunches before speaking.
"Have you anywhere to be tonight?"

Aiko's eyes followed him as the handsome white lion moved around her slowly, her expression anything but innocent when he finally came to a stop before her. There was some kind of vivid pride in her eyes, for a moment, a strangely inviting sort look that wasn't quite seduction, though certainly not far from it. Not if Aiko was involved.
"Not tonight, no," she replied sweetly, her neck arching slightly as she tipped her head back to meet the larger feline's eyes. "Nowhere but here."

It had been too long since Spenta had felt such emotions coursing through his body, thrumming warmly through his blood. His gaze was appreciative, almost glowing with heat as he allowed himself to drink in her beauty.
Such a lovely female. There were no words that he could speak that could do her justice. It was more than a tangible beauty, more than just the way she looked. It was the way she carried herself, the way she knew she was lovely.
Spen could appreciate a female with such confidence.
"Perhaps, then, Aiko," he all but purred, completely throwing caution and inhibitions to the wind, "you would spend the evening with me?" It was clear by his tone what he meant; the gentlemanly side of Spenta wouldn't let him bluntly state what he had in mind.

She could feel his eyes upon her, black fur prickling deliciously with the heat of his gaze. It was a familiar feeling, a familiar look, and she was enjoying it, oh yes. It wasn't far from what she'd wanted, what she'd hoped for. Company. Company was so very nice, oh yes. Any sort, and he seemed to be quite pleasant.
"I would love to spend some time with you," the cheetah crooned, rising to her feet and moving to twine around him teasingly, playfully, and perhaps even affectionately. "I was afraid I'd be out here all alone until I found my brothers, it's so nice of you to keep me company."

Spenta chuffed warmly at Aiko, completely enjoying the way she brushed herself against him; her actions, to Spen, felt authentic -- as if she truly enjoyed his presence as much as he enjoyed hers. It made it so much easier to abandon his inhibitions and enjoy the obscurity of nightfall and seductive moonlight.
When morning came they would part ways, having enjoyed each others company for the duration of nightfall. Spenta knew this, and he knew Aiko knew this. There was no commitment here, only the promise of pleasure.
"Believe me, Aiko, the pleasure of keeping you company is all mine."
