I am very much into runes. I have used them for years. My first experience was with Ralph Blum's Rune Kit, but I have since made my own runes out of air-dry clay and other materials and have made sets for friends. I am now also studying Wiccan runes, mostly for solitaries through the books by Scott Cunningham and Silver Ravenwolf.

I'm not sure how "rune" is a term that could be applied to anything other than Futhark and Futhorc.
Ralph Blum is a terrible source on runes, as you may have discovered since you first got into them. He essentially makes up an entirely new system and super-imposes it on a really quite sacred thing. It's upsetting. I really really recommend no one read his books. Go with Diana Paxson to start with.
