Overview: Satoru: Satoru is a normal person for the most part. He tends to be a calm person even when he's upset. He is also a very shy person who tends to not talk to other people very much. He doesn't fit in with his squad members most of the time because of that.
Toru: Toru is Satoru's alternate personality. In many ways he is the opposite of Satoru. He is known to be a bit crazy. He is never a calm person even when he's out and should be calm. He is one of the most violent in the squad, and in squad 11 that is saying something.
Habits: Satoru: rubs the back of his neck when nervous, uses his zanpakuto without unsheathing it. Toru: Say's “ne” after everything.

Background: When he was alive he lived a somewhat troubled life. His mother died just after he was born. Because of the death of his wife Satoru's father started to drink and became an alcoholic who was unfit for raising children. Because of this he was sent to his grandfather in Tokyo to be raised. His grandfather loved him very much but he was also very strict. By the time Satoru was in middle school he was starting to rebel a little. He did this with his best friend Sai Sakurai. Him and Sai did everything together from the time they were five up to when they died. At about age 14 they were no longer friends but something more. Not many people knew about there relationship but they had it all the same. Satoru wasn't very violent or rash but Sai tended to be on that rash side of life. In fact Sai joined a gang and in order to be with him and watch over him Satoru joined along side him. One day on the way home from school another gang saw them and went after the two boys. Satoru and Sai tried to fight back but both of them died. After they died Satoru and Sai were together only a short time. A hollow quickly found them. Satoru was able to get away thanks to a shinigami but Sai was not so lucky. After that when in soul society is when he gained his split personality. He had just watched as his love r died in front of him and in the Rukongai he was in danger as well. Toru his other personality began to take over when ever Satoru was in danger. After a while he went to the academy because he wanted to be able to protect others so they wouldn't see the same fate as Sai. After the academy he wanted to join squad 13 but he new with his other self Toru squad 11 would be the best place for him.
