Zyanya grazed lightly in the tall grass, her long silver locks hanging over one of her blue eyes as they always did, and her coat glimmering in the noonday sun. It was hot, particularily for Zyanya, who was used to much, much colder temperatures, and the spring air was doing so much more than just breezing by. Flora had settled in, and foliage grew in abundance, a thing Zyanya had never known till she had stumbled far from her northern origins. All her life she had been used to ice and snow, living on the delicate balance between life and death. To be able to graze so much and still have so much to go was an amazement to the icy mare. She knew not of all these wonders this new home offered.

After eating her fill, which was considerably very little, Zyanya picked up her head and looked around silently. She was alone, and had been alone for awhile for the most part. Long since has her silence sunk deep into her veins, though her voice was kept unchanged despite the lack of usage. How long has it been since she had someone to speak to? She had lost count of the days many moons ago. But it was not uncomfortable for Zyanya to keep silent. She had always been a quiet mare, though with a sharp tongue, if she ever needed it, and a good kick to boot. It was true that she felt loneliness, but it took alot more to phase the young mare. With nothing to do now, Zyanya took to merely oberving silently her new lands. This was her home now.

User ImageWith the blooming flora and the warm sun shining down on her, she couldn't feel the usual bubbling happiness that she would get given this outcome of weather and season of the year. The pale white mare, spotted with gray on her back and cheeks, and four sets of wings distinguished her from natural colors behind her. Her frame was small and appeared fragile under her full set of wings, but one of her wings appeared off. It hung limply next to her side, looking a bit displaced. A chunk of feathers had been ripped from her wings and blood stained some of her purple and green-gray feathers. She did not know how to fix it, nor did she think she knew how to ask for help. Coming across some other soquili, she pleaded with her eyes to help her, if they could. Yet, no one understood her silence.

She continued walking, willing herself to move despite the excruciating pain her dislocated wing brought her. Her eyes were cast down to the ground, and would every so often glance up in slight fear of getting attacked again. She held no hate for the being who attacked her, but couldn't help but ask, "Why?" Were the Gods mad at her? Had she done something wrong to displease them? Her ears flicked back at the current thoughts streaming into her head.

The attack had not been too long ago. The mare was still visibly shaken from the attack, but still thankful that another angeni had come in to save her from the skinwalker. Was she truly that weak? Her gut clenched at the thought, and felt a bit nauseated. She was about to leave her life to the skinwalker because she had thought that would be the Gods' wishes, but maybe the Gods were testing her. They did come to her rescue in the form of another angeni mare.

The breeze brushed through Zyanya's wild locks, her feathers dancing with the air, beads shaking lightly, as the young mare lifted her head against the wind, the chill bringing comfort the blue mare. The wind was always so comfortable for Zyanya, for it always stayed the same. No matter where she went, she would always feel the same breeze in her mane and tail, and against her light coat. A second wind rushed past, and Zyanya felt within it, a guidance she sought. Without a second thought, even on her unsteady hooves, as the ground beneath her felt too soft and ready to crumble, the mare lept with the direction of the wind, and even without wings, it carried her to the dirt. Without fear, Zyanya's silvery hooves glistened in the displaced dew, as she ran.

Zyanya did not run against the wind, nor did she ride it, but rather, she ran with it. It was this wind that guided her to another hilltop, where it stopped and faded, showing Zyanya her new place. Another creature like her stood at the ends of the meadow, and for a moment, Zyanya's eyes widened in curiosity and surprise. This creature had wings. In her tribe, none bore feathers on their backs, and only the leaders wore feathers within their manes. Yet this mare held two huge pairs of green and purple wings, and another two smaller ones on her head and hind legs. Zyanya was so astounded, that for just one moment, she had failed to notice the blood on one such wings, and the pain the mare stepped with.

This momentary shock however, failed to last any longer than it took for Zyanya's hooves to find their footing on the dirt. No time was wasted as the mare took a leap from the hilltop, and swiftly galloped her way toward the angeni, not knowing what she was in for, but the concern for an injured creature overcame any sort of doubt that the young mare could've had.

Without a word, Zyanya made a graceful slow before she approached the winged mare, her steps light, so as not to startle the mare, but still swift, without hesitance to helping. Within Zyanya's only visable eye, held concern, and patience for the wounded. She stopped before the mare, and tucked her head in for a short bow, respecting the mare through instinct, before lifting her head again, and making eye contact, showing the mare she would not allow herself not to help, words dancing through her eyes, despite her silence. Quickly, she approached the mare's injured wing to observe damage. She did not speak, for she had no been spoken to, but she hoped that this mare would understand the words that she had given without words.

Aleshanee was too distracted with her own thoughts that she could not hear the mare approaching her. The soft quiet steps made the other mare's approach the less noticeable. When the mare finally came within the line of sight, it startled the angeni mare, despite the other mare's attempt to prevent that exact reaction. The mare's heart was pounding quickly in reaction to the sight of the mare. Her usually gray eyes filled with happiness was now dilated with shock, unsure of how she should feel about the presence of the mare.

Her eyes quickly looked over the mare. She did not seem to have malicious intentions, and yet, she wondered how she could even consider trusting this mare. And, yet, just taking a moment to listen to the quiet mare, she understood that she was not there to harm her any further. If she were a lot calmer and trusting, she would have been ecstatic to see another mare that knew how to speak without words, but for now, she quietly observed the mare before her. Aleshanee had to be cautious, especially with the other mare observing her broken wing.

Zyanya paused quietly as she startled the young angeni, and cautioned in her observement further as she felt the fear and wariness the mare gave her. It was obvious this mare had been through more than enough to scar her. Zyanya could see that even past the wing that was limp and bleeding beside the mare's side. While Zyanya had dealt with treating broken limbs before, she had never the experience of treating a wing this large, though she had helped a few unlucky birds that had fallen onto the ice back in her home. Zyanya gave another glance up at the mare, trying to convey her benevolence and intention to help further through the short eye contact, before she continued observing and calculating the best way to deal with the wing.

After what seemed to be a long while, Zyanya lifted her head, turned to the mare and gave another distinct bow, before making eye contact again, nodding her head lightly toward the vines hanging nearby on the trees. Without a later hesistance, Zyanya took off toward where she had signalled she would be going. It was quick and easy work, biting the vines off of the tree, and giving the tree a quick bow in respect for giving her the vines, leaving some, but taking enough to do as she planned. Tossing them over her back, Zyanya searched around the area before plucking off too, some large leaves and moving on a slot trot back, unable to hurry so as not to let anything fall from her. She had done this before, but never on such a large wing, and could only hope the mare would let her try, or if not, try for herself.

Aleshanee watched the mare carefully. She didn't know how much trust she should put into the mare. She could tell that she didn't want to harm her, but how pure were her intentions.

She continued to watch the mare because that's about as much as she could do, well, besides running away. Her eyes followed hers, and looked to the the vines. Her eyes widened considerably. Did she plan to bind her up?! Her ears flicked back as she slowly backed away from the mare, shaking her head. What other purpose did the vines have other than to bind her?

Zyanya quickly halted in her steps as Aleshanee stepped back, noticing easily the eyes widening and the shaking of her head. Taking a step back in hopes of soothing the mare to her presence, Zyanya bowed her head alittle, knowing it'd be of no use for her to push on the injured mare, but her desire to help still burning in her ocean blue eye. Lifting her head after a moment, she could tell the mare had misunderstood the use of the vines, and moved her head to explain without words, their purpose.

She bit down lightly on one of the few vines she had picked, and smoothly bound a leaf into it with her teeth, seemingly used to the procedure as she made a sort of sling or bandage with it. Throwing the rest of the vines off her body, Zyanya moved to the side to demonstrate the use of the contraption, throwing it on her own body, moving the leaf to where Aleshanee's wing would've been. Almost like a patch, Zyanya turned to show her intention of stopping the blood spill from the wing and holding it still, the vines merely holding the leaf in place around her body and wing.

Aleshanee watched the mare carefully, her eyes flitting from the vines to the mare. What did she intended to do with them? The mare pulled her wings closer to her body, and left her broken wing to hang next to her side. At least if she did this, she could protect her other three wings.

Her gray eyes that seemed so dull in her apprehensiveness. Could this mare be trusted? It looked like she was trying to show her something, but what was she showing her? She tried to clear her mind of any scary, dark thoughts giving it a chance that the mare truly had some good intentions. Feeling like the other mare was playing a game of charades, she tried to visualize what she was doing. From what she could tell, the leaf was going to go somewhere. Figuring if the other mare wanted to help her, then the leaf would go on her injury. What was the vine for then?

She did not quite understand it still. The blood has long dried from the initial injury, and her wing was pulled out the socket. Her feathers were ripped out, leaving an area where it was bare and patchy as oppose to a full, thick layer of feathers.
